DESCRIPTION

The SCU-12 Mining Droid was designed by the newly reformed Corporate Alliance with the purpose of gathering raw materials and minerals from planets within their jurisdiction. The standard configuration includes a variety of cutting-edge mining technologies, including Mining Lasers, thermal protection, and mineral sampling devices. Its small and compact frame enables it to navigate through narrow cave systems inaccessible to humanoid miners without additional gear.

However, this compromises the droid's structural stability, as it can be easily incapacitated by a single blaster shot. Following additional testing and advancement in the Corporate Alliance's research facility, the Mining Droid was manufactured in large quantities for commercial sale, and subsequently adopted by numerous mining corporations across the galaxy.
