- Hybrid Scope: Most of the "budget" when designing the rifle as it were went into its scope, making it the only real sophisticated part of the weapon. Said scope features both thermal vision and lock-on targeting which allow it to operate in environments and conditions with obscured vision or increased distance. This relatively simple addition gives it a noticeable edge despite its average performance overall.
- Lacking Versatility: Due to a focus on ease of production there are some features not present on the SD-R1 that are common to most other blaster rifles, primarily being the lack of a stun setting and no real room for modifications due to stiff one-piece frame construction. This does hamper its effectiveness in some instances, particularly those involving extreme conditions such as freezing or scorching temperatures.
The first and most predominant of the products put to market by Sanguine Defense Works, the SD-R1 is a cheap and easily made yet reliably effective blaster rifle that serves as the flagship weapon of the newly established company. Based off of, and made from, several common designs in use across the Outer Rim's criminal underbelly with a hint of old Sith-Imperial engineering the SD-R1 is the perfect armament for any soldier whether they be in a simple militia or a proper military.
Overall the rifle isn't too spectacular or noteworthy in terms of performance when compared to other models but its ease of production and usage makes it an easy favorite for security and armed forces alike. It is most certainly a rifle fit for war, featuring a large ammunition capacity and a specialized scope as well as compensated recoil in order to allow its users to down their chosen targets with ease. As if to make that point all the more prominent it even lacks a stun feature outright, something used both as a criticism of the weapon and as a marketing tactic by the company.
