Seach and You Shall Find

Nar Shadda
Corruck had watched as the outside lights change from a continuous stream of light to pinpoints in a sea of darkness. He was kneeling on his bed watching through the viewport. His thoughts far away from this small ship, the Recalcitrant, on the equally small ship, Destiny, hidden far away probably moving to another isolated, uninhabited system. His thoughts dwelt on the ship, its purpose, and his plans for it. There was still much to do, he could not have the ship brought back until he had discovered that one piece of the puzzle that had baffled him so far.

He heard over the intercom Sheera's voice begin, addressing him, "Corruck, we've arrived in system. Going through basic entry procedures. There should be too much trouble, unless someone on the ground decides were an enemy."

Corruck nodded to himself, they would briefly stop here. Pick up supplies and what not before making their way to Coruscant. This hunt was going to be quite a welcome distraction from the Destiny. It would be a long hunt and one that would probably fail. It was difficult to tell at this point, especially with information on it being so rare. They would have to go to Coruscant first, probably learn some things from the Jedi Temple, see if there were any traces of the object, then head into the darker portions of Coruscant. That was likely where they could find information on the lightsaber. If the data he had obtained from his last little expedition on Coruscant was right, Qui-gon's lightsaber had been left in the Jedi Temple by Obi-wan for safe keeping. Of course, due to the Gulag Plague and the destruction that had been wrought, the lightsaber had probably fallen into some collector's hands, or it would had been anywhere. Corruck did not know.

That was part of the reason he wanted to begin this hunt, he didn't know much but he had a plan and it could be enacted almost immediately. He didn't have to wait for some scientific breakthrough in order to achieve his goal, unlike the Destiny conundrum. The other reason was that it would be an amazing artifact to have, if in fact he found it.

With those thoughts running through his head he walked slowly down the hallway outside his room, which led to all the other living spaces on the ship. At either end of the hall were stairs that led different portions of the ship. The door right next to his was owned by a relatively new member to the 'family' [member="Sun"]. As Corruck neared the door and was about to know he thought he could hear talking from the other side. Listening a little closer he guessed that Nothy was asking Sun about her experiences and what it was like out in the galaxy.

Morality Policeman :)
Knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

Nar Shaddaa had been Tacitanya's reluctant home since she was born. In truth, there had not been any choice in where she had been born, her mother having been a slave--and forced into what many could consider the worst of 'trades'. What she could say was the bit of light that came out of the entire situation was the gangster receiving his just deserts. Not that her mother was spared of her fate. But at least the daughter was free.

The fringes of the short twi'lek's boots flopped about as she kicked at a rusted and battered can down the street, approaching the main spaceport that served the moon's comers and goers. She had been back for another tour of her birthworld just to clean up her apartment again and see if someone had paid a visit. It was just like she had left it, meaning that there must not be much too intriguing about the doorway to her old home to attract attention of even the panhandlers and bums. That was probably for the best--and yet, she felt a tinge of disappointment that no one had shared some piece of her life. She had left a welcome sign on the inside wall should anyone 'break' in, after all.

But Taci supposed there was not much to be sorry over, anyway. She had just come for a routine visit. There was always someone in need of help on this criminal's paradise. She tapped the Whistleflute at her hip with the tip of her index finger, a subtle warning to anyone who was paying undue attention to her that size mattered not. Underneath her cloak and on the opposite side of her hip swung her lightsaber hilt, concealed so as not to cause a ruckus but present on her body nonetheless. Protection could never be overestimated--especially when one considered themselves a protector to others. That was what she was in her mind.

Today was the day to depart. While there was trouble at every half-second of every day on Nar Shaddaa, Taci could not stop it all, nor could she even pretend to believe that she had stopped any significant fraction of the crimes that had occurred. That was just the way it was, and she would have to accept that. More so with the Red Raven criminal syndicate in charge of the moon nowadays. And so she would soon be off to another world that needed her presence. If any truly did. What difference was she making, anyhow?

Feeling a bit glum about these thoughts, the tyrian twi'lek stopped by a street vendor's cart and ordered a bantha beef burrito. At least she would not be traveling on an empty stomach.

Corruck walked from the doorway, leaving [member="Sun"] and Nothy to hopefully enjoy the socializing time. He decided to head to the bridge, at least he would be able to watch the entry onto Nar Shadda, which was quite a pretty site. It wasn't the most beautiful planet, but it most definitely was a jewel. He understood why the Hutts had made it such a bright planet. He was not pleased with how the Hutts had gone about it, using the natives of Nal Hutta and destroying the planet.

------------------------------

He heard the hiss of the bridge door close behind him as he prepared to sit down and look out the front viewport. Unfortunately he had taken too long making his way to the bridge that by the time he had himself seated all he was able to see was the final landing procedure at the docking bay. He felt somewhat disappointed, somewhat. Too much of his mind was working on guessing at where and if he would find that lightsaber. If he did find it he would... he didn't know. It took a lot of time to learn to use a lightsaber, even for a Jedi. While a non-Force user could learn it would take a lot more effort and it would never be quite as graceful.

He was the first off the ship, but he wasn't going to be the one to collect the supplies. Sheera had wanted the chance to look through some of the other shops in the area so she and Rathur volunteered to go out and take care of it. The last he had seen of them they were hand in hand walking off, talking about when they had first met, which had been on this planet. Corruck smiled at this, they had been married for at least five years now, they didn't seem to have any of the trouble that most people talked about. Maybe that was the circumstances, he didn't know. What Corruck did know was that he wished that if he ever fell in love, that it would end as well as those two.

He began a walk around, just taking in the sights. As he walked he tried to take notice of the world around him, he was within a five minutes walk of the ship so he could spend some time. He noticed some people buying food from a street vendor, he hadn't realized how many of them there were on the street, at least five maybe more. There was an elderly gentlemen with a datapad in his hand, he seemed to be quite intent on the contents. There was what looked like a Zabraak crimelord, if the four Gamorrean were anything to go by. There was the young couple in a small food shop nearby, window table, looking at the menus, stopped and looked around for a moment. They saw him and Corruck would have laughed to himself, it looked like that couple was Sheera and Rathur, probably enjoying a small snack from a place they had both been to at one point in the past.

He turned his attention to looking around, his gaze not on where he was walking. It was too late by the time he realized that he was walking right into the path of another pedestrian.
