The SECPCI 1300 is an amalgamation of two existing technologies, slapped together by a freelance Rodian scientist and subsequently surgically implanted in the head of Darth Janus. In order to make his journey into the field of Mechu-Deru a little easier, Darth Janus decided to take steps to become one with the machine. Or at least make it easier for him to do so temporarily. He contacted an acquitance of his, Ugoto Chivaro, and pressured him into combining the two existing cybernetic implants known as the Subelectronic Converter and Psicom 1260 Interface into one device.
And so the SECPCI 1300, a wholly unique creation, was born.
The 1300 combines the versatility of the Psicom 1260 with the Subelectronic Converter's ability to be used by the Force. This means that Darth Janus can access and influence all computers with it- not just droids. When not empowered by the Force, the 1300 also allows for more traditional direct interfacing between Janus and droids/computers. This easier access to the inner workings of these machines makes it easier for him to put Force powers such as Electronic Manipulation, Technometry, and (eventually) Mechu Deru into practice.
Unlike either of the models it was based on, the 1300 can actually store data. Particularly data received through devices like cybernetic eyes and auditory implants. The 1300 boasts no resistance to EMPs and can be disabled this way. Further, it is vulnerable to remote hacking (if someone were to figure out the user had one or gain access to it while the user is interfacing with another device). This can be avoided by switching the device off with a mental command or disabling its remote access.
Only two of these have ever been constructed and it is likely to stay that way, unless someone were to track down Ugoto and beat the ever-living shavit out of the poor Rodian for the schematics. The second one is a gift to Ovmar, since he also digs the Mechu-Deru vibe. For individuals without prior experience in the wide field of Mechu Deru, the SECPI will take many months of practice to get used to before it can be put to full use.
Further, the SECPI (like all brain-based implants) carries risk with installation. Users should be careful to select only skilled doctors in implanting it, as the slightest mishap could result in loss of life.
