Secrets in the Dust

Sibar Laval

Sibar sighed, this was the first time he directly talked to a Knight of Ren and Milo wouldn't have been his first choice. Though Milo is the most enthusiastic when it came to artifacts so it was best to report this to him. He knocked on the door and spoke softly but sternly Commander Milo? My squad have found something that might interest you. We encountered a large mound of dust on our patrol, underneath it was something....metal. I didn't fully explore what it was but it seemed that the dust preserved it, it looked like it was part of the Galatic Empire. If your interested, I could tell you more. Sibar slightly shifted, he never could tell what a Knight of Ren should do.

The door to his makeshift chamber swung open by itself, revealing a seated Milo. The Knight ended his meditation slowly, breathing deeply to calm himself, and stood up, not facing the Stormtrooper. Clad in a black cloak with the hood flipped up, combined with the dark room, he struck a particularly intimidating figure as he spoke, a simple command.

"Go on."

The trooper had interrupted his thoughts, a grevious sin to the Ren. If the information wasn't worth it, his life would be on the line at that moment.

"W-w-well......" He was stuttering, he couldn't have that. He took a large breath and looked at Milo Ren "We have narrowed it down to three things, either the head of an AT-AT, where the body is I don't know, a AT-ST, and of course you should know the history of Eriadu so it might be something left behind from Grand Moff Tarkin. Any of these would be useful in plenty of ways, the AT-AT head should help us model a walker to the likeness of this powerful mech. The AT-ST would be good for scavenging or could be used in the military depending on the condition, as for the artifact from the Grand Moff........I'm sure you and the rest of the Knights of Ren would love to have it." Sibar thought he gave a good explanation as to why this would be good, he might have saved his own life.

The Knight of Ren turned around slowly to reveal his snow white hair and glowing green eyes partially concealed by his hood, and a faint smirk crossed his lips, almost eerily to any onlooker.

"I can sense your fear, soldier. Do not be afraid. You've brought good news. Good news, indeed."

Milo walked forward to the doorway, closer to the Stormtrooper. He was indeed pleased by this discovery. No matter what it was, the item, if the speculation was true, would be valuable indeed, both to the First Order and to him. Now it was a matter of digging it up.

"Take me to it."

Sibar smiled under his helmet "Of course commander Milo, please come with me." Sibar began to walk down the hallway, he then nodded to the rest of his squad, telling them that it was a go. The mound wasn't far, but it still was a lot of walking they had to do before they reached it so he decided to make small talk. "I honestly love the idea of having our main base on operations on Eriadu, this was the birthplace of Grand Moff Tarkin, one of the main contributors of the Death Star." He was always told tales of the Death Star. The weapon was powerful enough to destroy whole planets, and Grand Moff Tarkin was one of the main forces to that weapon.

Milo nodded his head as they walked together, smiling thinly, somewhat suprised that he knew of the homeplanet of Tarkin.

"You are correct. Are you an Imperial history buff?"

He remembered the Death Star as well, which held the power, according to old data, to destroy an entire planet. If the First Order ever got a hold of those plans...

"How much farther, Stormtrooper?"

Sibar laughed softly "I guess you could call me that. I was told tales of the great Empire as a recruit, Grand Moff Tarkin, Lord Vader, and Emperor Palpatine were often the subjects of these tales. While most recruits were spending time with others during free time, I learned all I could of the Galactic Empire." Sibar smiled the more that he though about it. The three things he loved in this galaxy were the First Order, anything involving the Galactic Empire, and burning things. " It's not that far away, may a few more minutes of walking and we will be there."

Milo wordlessly continued, following the Stormtrooper. He wasn't terribly interested in the soldier, but it was fascinated how well they indoctrinated the Stormtroopers during training. Then again, wasn't he working with the Knights of Ren to preserve the Empire's accomplishments? Was he a historian, or a tool of the First Order? Was he there to bring light to lost facets of an old era, or was he there to merely help build up someone's obsession with Inperial relics? The Knight shrugged to himself. Regardless of what he was, he enjoyed it, and that's what mattered to him.

"We're here!" Sibar looked at the large mound of dust infront of him, you could still see the small patch of metal where the incinerator wiped it off. I'm going to be honest with you, there is something even further down in the ground I just know there is. So this may be be a complete AT-AT, the body could be heavily buried. He should have mentioned about the underground part but the mound itself seemed to have caught the Knight's attention Sibar carefully got to the top of the mound and started to wipe off the dust. Ren looked at the metal uncovered and slapped his gloved hand on it. Solid steel. A starfighter's blaster couldn't punch through that. Whatever it was, it was tough, and well preserved. Milo turned to the trooper and smiled broadly before speaking, pleased with this discovery.

"Bring a team to dig this out."

"My men are coming as we speak to help, in the mean time..." Sibar continued to swipe of the dust and noticed that some of it seeping further into the mound, he began to sweep that area off and saw a small hole in the metal. Through it he noticed a a control panel. "Commander Milo, I think I found something."

"What is that, a control panel? It is. Tell those men to come over on the double. Do you think you could fit in there?"

Milo cocked his head in surprise and curiosity, wanting to search the vehicle already. The Knight carefully raised his arms and pushed forward with the Force, blowing a lot of the sand off with a mighty shove. Hopefully that helped out.

Sibar thought for a second, he might be able to fit if he took of his helmet. But first he took out his comm link and commend his team. "This is Sergeant Laval to the eleventh incinerator squad, you want to hurry up Commader Milo wants you. You don't want to end up like the twelfth incinerator squad now do you?" Now that the comm was finished Sibar took off his helmet, revealing his shaggy brown hair and dark blue eyes. He slowly lowered himself into the hole, making sure he didn't get stuck. When he finally got his arms through he quickly plummeted down the hole and pounded with a loud thump. Sibar slowly got and looked around "It's pitch black in here! I don't know where I'm go-" Sibar fumbled around and felt a button under his hand "I think I found a light button!" He pressed the button and a faint light flicked on, getting brighter to the point where he could see where he exactly was. "You may want to come down here Commander Milo" [member="Milo Ren"]

Milo jumped down into the interior, his eyes adjusting to the dim light compared to the bright sun outside. For all purposes, at this moment, he was virtually blind. He reached out with the Force to detect where that Stormtrooper was. Oh, right next to him, to the right. Good. From what he could sense, the place he was in was huge. What was it?

"Stormtrooper. I can't see. What are we in?"

"This.....this is the command center of an AT-AT." Sibar stared in awe until he noticed a white figure slumped on the wall. When he got closer he instantly knew what it was. "I can't believe it! AT-AT pilot suit, and it's almost in perfect condition!" Almost was the key word, a large piece of metal was stuck in the right visor and one of the life support tubes had been cut. This truly was an amazing find but if he was correct, there was still the rest of the body to explore.

Milo blinked furiously, wanting his eyes to adjust already so he could see the find for himself.

"Where are your men?! We need to get a flare in here and extract this already! Tell them I'll have their heads if they aren't here in the next minute!"

Ren was excited now, blindly looking around the command center. The Knight made up for his temporary blindness with an almost ferverish joy.

"The suit is good? How good are we talking about here?!"

As if on cue a flare dropped from below "We're here, please just explore while we get the head dusted off." Sibar grabbed the flare and dragged it over to the suit "Hopefully you can tell now, the suit is pretty good if I do say so myself." Sibar looked over to the control panel "To think this powerful machine was downed, I wonder if the weapons still work." Sibar blew on the control panel, blowing away most of the dust that covered it.

Milo looked at the armor under the light of the flare. This was a good find. The pilot's equipment would look quite impressive in display amongst the other suits. He turned back to the pyromaniac next to him and spoke again.

"Don't touch anything. We have no idea what works and what doesn't. Call a team of engineers over here. In the meantime, we can explore the rest of the vehicle."

He was excited, but he tried to maintain his poise and general 'cool' appearance in front of the enlisted. After all, a Ren jumping around like an excited kid wouldn't exactly bring respect to the Knights.

"Lead the way, trooper. My eyes are still adjusting."

Sibar nodded "Of course commander Milo" Sibar grabbed the flare infront of him and began to walk down to the neck of the mech. This place is like a treasure chest, getting better and better the further we get. He looked at the large hole, revealing the darkness below beckoning for them to come. Without warning, Sibar jumped into the darkness plummeting into the body below.

The area around Milo became dark as Sibar jumped into the belly of the beast. Well, that was nice. Ren pulled out his lightsaber and activated it, the blade coming to life with a snap-hiss, bathing the area around him in red.

Well, here went nothing. Artifacts and glory awaited him below. Milo jumped down into the body of the walker too, taking care not to fall on the Stormtrooper below him or accidentally slice him to bits.
