- Description: Although it is called Sedaire Luxury Resort and Rehabilitation Center, the whole facility is designed with comfort and ease in mind. A place for tired old veterans to relax, and a safe place for escaped former Imperials to unravel the dark, knotted space that their minds have been twisted into. Featuring everything from a shopping complex, restaurants, pools, and of course, a casino and bar, there’s something for pretty much everyone in the Sedaire Luxury Resort.
With their goals in mind, the Sedaire Luxury Resort and Rehabilitation Center have taken a step away from the typical harsh lines, and sterile coloration of other buildings. While the building opts for a soft white on its exterior, it attempts to incorporate nature into its décor. Soft curves and organic lines make up the majority of the facility’s silhouette, and where logic, math and stability are required, straight controlled profiles are artfully employed.
- Merrill Mall
- A surprisingly kid-friendly shopping center located underground, Merril Mall features just about everything you’d expect from any other shopping center. Primarily clothing and jewelry stores, souvenir shops, cooking ware, bath ware and even one of those odd stores selling speeders, even a fast food court. A good place to spend some of that retirement income. Provided you still have the use of your limbs. Uniquely, this underground facility provides glass windows to peer into the ocean’s waters, where the occasional aquatic wildlife might just swim up to greet you. Don’t worry, nothing should threaten the integrity of the shopping center…we think.
- Starchaser Lounge
- A slightly upscale bar, Starchaser Lounge is situated on the third floor, just below the rehab center. While it’s not a ‘suit and tie’ kind of establishment, it has been made up to highly discourage the kinds of bar fights many of the Resort’s visitors are likely accustomed to breaking up. Featuring a live band, a fully stocked bar, Starchaser Lounge is the favored watering hole of former Imperials and Coalition members alike.
- Perl Pavilion
- A building situated right on the beach, the Perl Pavilion is almost as fun as its namesake (sorry, no Zeltron strippers). Being a recreation area, the Pavilion is afforded prime beach access, a variety of indoor and outdoor sports courts, a fully staffed spa, computer and VR rooms, workshops for those with a knack for tinkering, and even private theaters that residents can rent out.
- Drake’s
- Heralded as the best restaurant in the facility (and possibly on the entire planet), Drake’s features exquisite dishes from across the galaxy, and fairly reasonable prices. The perfect place for a nice night out with that special someone, or maybe just celebrating retirement, Drake’s is sure to satisfy. The biggest draw? Their roasted porg, Atlas Drake's favorite.
- Bantam Rehabilitation Center
- Geared towards assisting former Coalition members and Imperial soldiers reintegrate with society, the Bantam Rehab focuses on easing the tensions between former enemies, and helping them build up a skill set that does not require a battlefield to be used upon. Of course, their jobs aren’t easy, and the threat of fights breaking out is omnipresent, and so the Rehab Center houses security trained in spotting and diffusing fights before they can even begin, and if necessary, subduing them.
- Pavanos Casino
- Unlike the other important sections of the Sedaire Resort and Rehab Center, which all carry the names of prominent members of the Coalition, no one is sure where the name ‘Pavanos’ came from. All the same, the Pavanos Casino exists to provide entertainment to the gambling loving residents, and also to recoup some of the facility’s other expenses. More than just a casino though, Pavanos also hosts various shows, ranging from comedy, music, to acrobatics.
SECURITY
Medium
Given the nature of the facility, and it being the home to veterans of what were once opposing factions, the facility has a heightened sense of security to prevent any undue deaths within the center. Housing a fully staffed, privately trained security force, they are more focused on what occurs within the facility proper, as opposed to keeping others out.
That being said, admission to the facility, either for residence, rehabilitation, or simple visiting, must be granted by the security team before entry. Shields can be activated to prevent entry, and alarms and a PA system are installed for important announcements.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
While
Dax Perl
was not the progenitor of the facility, he did finance it, on the condition that he be allowed to name some of the facilities. Originally created exclusively as a residence for former Judges and Coalition fighters who were having trouble reintegrating into civilian life, it was later expanded to house Imperials as well, many of whom were defectors, or simply abandoned by their government.Since it’s opening in 872 ABY, Sedaire Luxury Resort and Rehabilitation Center has been running rather smoothly, with only a single newsworthy incident, wherein a PTSD event triggered triggered by an unauthorized ship flying by too close to the facility lead to one of the Imperial residents seizing a security officer’s weapon and holding them hostage. Thankfully, a nearby former Judge was able to defuse the situation without any casualties.
