Devotee of Fear
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
- Intent: To create a secure starship holding bay for dangerous dark-side relics and artefacts collected by the Inquisitorius

- Primary Source: N/A
- Manufacturer: Inquisitorius
- Affiliation: Inquisitorius
- Market Status: Closed-Market
- Model: Vault of the Venatores Starship Bay (formal), Seeker Vault (colloquial)
- Modularity: The bay is modular only in that the size and general shape can be altered to fit onto whatever starship it is constructed on. The Vault can only be installed on ships at least 50m in length or larger, anything smaller and the integrity of the intricate systems at work cannot be ensured.
- Production: Semi-Unique
- Material: Voidstone, Durasteel, Transparisteel, Duranium, Beskar, Carbonite
- Defense Against the Magical: The Arcae, special containers constructed out of small voidstone shards fitted inside a duranium frame with transparisteel viewports, serve as receptacles for sith artefacts. The voidstone deadens the ability of the artefacts to influence the force when locked within. Certain Arcae have instead been constructed to carbonite-freeze any objects stored within, while others are engraved with protective Sith runes.
- Emergency Containment Procedures: Sensors, when armed, fitted inside the walls of the whole Vault constantly scan for any explosive use of the force within its confines. Assuming that any use of force within the Vault is the result of the artefacts within unleashing their malicious will, the entire bay will be sealed and pumped full of carbonite, freezing solid everything and everyone caught inside. Carbonite being known to safely encase force sensitive beings within, this emergency procedure will ensure the ship not torn apart from within by the dark energies and allow it time to seek the nearest safe harbour.
- Secure: The many defences against the nature of the objects stored in the Vault ensure only the strongest, most powerful of relics pose any real threat. The defences work both ways, protecting the priceless contents of the Vault from any intruders unfamiliar with the Vault's safeguards.
- Last One Standing: In the event that the Vault's ship is shot down or destroyed, the Vault is constructed so solidly that it would remain intact and sealed against the vacuum of space so that its contents are able to be retrieved by whatever agent of the Inquisitorius follows up.
- Power Drain: The Vault requires any ship it is fitted in to possess a sizeable generator to power the Vault's complex systems and emergency procedures. Any potential loss of power could leave the ship and its crew vulnerable to the evil relics stored inside.
- Voidstone Shards: A powerful force-nullifying material, the Arcae containing shards of voidstone are few, meant only for the most dangerous artefacts, and housed away from from the rest of the Vault's storage cells. The size of the shards themselves are very small, and as a result their field of influence only extends to cover the individual Arca they are fitted into.
- Nullifying Susceptibility: The Sith Runes protecting some of the cells and Arcae within the Vault would be rendered inert by someone with the ability to suppress or nullify the effects of the Force, leaving the relics stored within vulnerable to anyone with a moderate skill in slicing.
The Inquisitorius' mission to locate, retrieve and store or destroy artefacts it deems too potentially dangerous for others, even among the Sith, to control and use necessitated the creation of something which the Seekers could use to transport said relics. The Seeker Vault was designed with this mission in mind, and is constructed to hold all kinds of powerful relics or ancient scrolls of the dark side that Inquisitors or Seekers have journeyed across the galaxy to locate. Each individual Arca can contain even the most terrible of artefacts safely and securely during transit.
