HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Sejong the Great, a revered King and the honorable Emperor of the old Goryeo Star Empire, played a pivotal role in shaping the destiny of Seoul. The once-flourishing empire in the Unknown Regions, now shrouded in four centuries of darkness, owes its language to the wisdom of this great ruler. It is in his honor that the capital and the planet adopted the name Seoul.
Upon Sejong's passing, his sons Seong-Gye and Seong-Choe vied for the throne, with Seong-Gye emerging victorious after a fierce struggle. Challenges persisted, such as the coup led by Mong-Ju, a loyal captain of the guard for Seong-Gye's brother. Though Seong-Gye secured his rule, the fight left scars, with the loss of his arm and Mong-Ju exiled to the distant reaches of the planet. The Gye-Dynasty, later evolving into the Chosun Dynasty, took root.
Seoul continued to evolve through dynasties, with each Emperor guiding its destiny. The city remained united under its rulers until the shadows of darkness lifted. Seeking to engage with neighboring planets, Seoul initiated intergalactic relations with Needan and Mephout under the flags of the Lords of the Fringe and the First Order, both of which eventually fell.
The Fall of Dosuun, a catastrophic event, deeply impacted Sejong. The Ssi-Ruuvi invasion claimed many lives, including Queen Kim's grandfather and father. Kim Gyeong, one of the last of the Kim Dynasty, stood resilient alongside the people, defending against the Ssi-Ruuvi onslaught. The National Palace, once a fortification, became a symbol of Seoul's resistance.
When the First Order reemerged, issuing its currency, Queen Kim saw an opportunity to collaborate for the survival of Sejong. Through the First Order's resources, Sejong's recovery gained momentum, and life gradually returned to its streets.
By 868 ABY, as the First Order quietly withdrew from the galaxy, Seoul, now the Kingdom of Seoul, stepped forward, looking to the future. Flourishing through the mid-870s, concerns arose with the rise of the Eternal Empire, leading to the formation of the Dosuunian Commonwealth of Nations in collaboration with neighboring systems. The Commonwealth, born out of shared concerns, ensured planetary autonomy while preserving Imperial heritage.
In 882 ABY, post the Dosuunian Accords, the Commonwealth's Constitution was ratified. Despite the collapse of the Eternal Empire, Seoul and its fellow member worlds embraced the Commonwealth's growth. In 889 ABY, House Kim vied for the High Crown but was not selected. Governing Seoul justly, House Kim remains a stalwart supporter of High Queen Kelora Priestly, attending her coronation and continuing their unwavering allegiance a decade into her reign.
