  • Non Force Users: This unit cannot use Force Powers.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Senate Commandos were an elite division of the Senate Guard, tasked with protecting the Galactic Senate, high-ranking officials, and carrying out specialized missions for the Judicial Department of the Galactic Republic. They were formed as a response to increasing threats against Republic leadership and were composed of the most skilled and experienced Senate Guardsmen.
Formation and Role
The Senate Commandos operated separately from the Jedi Order and the Grand Army of the Republic, serving as the primary security force within Coruscant. Their responsibilities included escorting high-value political figures, guarding the Senate Building, and conducting high-risk arrests of criminals or traitors deemed a threat to the Republic. They were known for their distinctive blue armor, a more practical and combat-ready variant of the ceremonial Senate Guard uniforms.

Clone Wars Era
During the Clone Wars, Senate Commandos took on more active combat roles, accompanying senators into war zones and responding to Separatist threats. Despite their elite status, corruption within their ranks became apparent, as seen with Captain Faro Argyus, who betrayed his squad to aid the Separatists. Their effectiveness was further questioned due to Jedi and clone trooper security gradually overshadowing their role in Republic defense.

Disbandment
Following the Republic’s transformation into the Galactic Empire, Emperor Palpatine replaced the Senate Guard and its elite units with the Imperial Royal Guard and Imperial Senate Guards. The Senate Commandos were officially disbanded, and their functions were absorbed by more loyal, Imperial-controlled security forces, marking the end of their service.

With the formation of the Galactic Alliance and Senate, a need for security forces arose once again. The old model was followed with some minor tweaks to fit the new GA code. The first and most notable major deployment of the Senate Commandos in modern times was to rescue captive Senators during the Hapes Crisis, after which funding was was authorized to create a more robust and structured Senate Commando Unit.
