So I had an idea I thought might help bring various groups together.
As the Jedi have Jedi Missions and Wartime Missions, what if the Senate also began putting up mission threads.
Senators could come up with mission ideas either tied directly to their planet of residence or to the Republic as a whole and post them with specifications on what they are looking for. Take for example:
Planet: Dorin
Objective: Investigate reports of smuggling
Looking for: 2 Jedi, 2 soldiers
Senate Contact: Senator Plo Koon
Obviously the above his a hastily thrown together example, but I thought that this would (1) Bring together Jedi, military personnel, and government officials, (2) promote some good roleplaying, and (3) mirror what would be occurring in the Republic, i.e., the governing body issuing assignments to the various branches (Jedi included).
I just thought I would post this, and see if anyone thought it a good idea, a crap idea, or if it had been tried before and never worked. Really we could take it a step further and have the Senate/Kiskla Grayson assign the missions directly to specific individuals. This would give the more authentic feel of being a servant of the people.
Any who.....that is my idea. As I'm basically a one trick pony, I have no senator character, so I defer to those who play the role of our Senate to tell me what they think of the notion.
