The girl, only sixteen years old, walked on the dark streets of the busy city, in an area of the settlement which was extremely quiet that night. That's where she lived.
On her road back home, Lilin had grabbed a cup of coffee to keep her awake during the long walk, so that she wouldn't fall asleep or lose her sharpness and focus. The planet was not the safest she had ever been on, especially at night. But she lived there and she couldn't imagine living in a better place.
She was wearing a dark outfit, something which could have kept her safe from anything that could have happened on the streets. Her scarf, beanie, leather jacket and dark jeans accompanied with dark brown boots should have kept her quite away form any trouble.
Yet what was about to come wasn't kept away by these little things.
It was a night when most people were out partying and so was a group of drunk mercenaries and other creepy people. The bars of this area of the city were considered the best, but many didn't dare to go there just because of the people who partied in the cantinas.
Even Lilin shivered when she walked past one of these shops and saw a group of people coming out of there. She tried to walk faster, but her feet had had to do much of work that day and were already the most tired they'd ever been. She couldn't move quicker even if she wanted.
She could feel adrenaline pumping up in her as she progressed along the street and didn't see a sign of the gang leaving her alone.
That was also the moment she understood they were tying to capture her.
She took a look back, just to turn it to the front of her again and burst into a run. The miracle of adrenaline... She felt like her heart pumped three times as much blood as it typically did. To top that off, she also felt a slight discomfort in her stomach which made it difficult to run.
Yet the men were faster. They were trained soldiers, that's probably why.
"Hey, sweetie, where are you hurryin' so fast?" one of them asked. She didn't even notice how the whole gang came to push her into the corner when she stopped.
She was freaked out. And even a person not sensitive to the Force could have noticed that.
