Description: The Sentinel-class is designed primarily around information gathering. Whereas the Watcher-class Scout Corvette is designed to gather information before a battle, the Sentinel-class is designed to gather information in a battle. A neat plan means nothing if a commander can’t see the pieces changing place on the battlefield. To that end, the ship sacrifices firepower for a host of sensor suites designed to spot enemy craft as they come in. Most of its sensor suites are similar to those found on the Watcher, though with larger, more refined hardware and a more powerful reactor

In the wake of the Battle of Eriadu, the Protectorate purchased a number of Monitor-class corvettes from Sienar Fleet Systems and cannibalized them for their crystal grav-traps to place in the Sentinel for increased anti-stealth capabilities. When a cloaked ship is detected, the Sentinel opens fire with its fast-mounted ion cannons to quickly disable the cloak and allow other ships to target it.
