BIOGRAPHY:
Childhood and survival:
Kitessa Lasranae was born along with a twin brother to High Lady Aralie Lasranae. At the time House Lasranae was one of the most prestigious houses on their home planet. Kitessa and her brother Dekera were being raised to eventually be the next High Lady and Lord when their story took a tragic turn.
The two were only children when their family finally fell apart. The Gulag Plague had been ravaging their planet for almost 250 years by this point. House Lasranae had been hemorrhaging money, resources, and soldiers trying to stay standing a midst the turmoil that the plague was wrecking upon the galaxy. It was the combination of financial collapse and a coup by many of the smaller houses that finally did them in.
She had brief memories of rival soldiers and commoners burning and pillaging the Lasranae Estate the last night that she was a noble. The siblings took advantage of an escape tunnel they had found a couple years prior while playing. They escaped their home into the surrounding city where they disappeared from the eyes of their political rivals amongst the dirty back alleys and streets.
The Garhoon houses were predominately a matriarchal system. Therefore Kitessa took it upon herself to protect her brother. She knew her mother had died. It was all the locals could talk about. Another high house had fallen. The only choice was for her to shed her name. The name Lasranae would get her killed by a political rival, and no Lasranae should do the things that she was forced to do to stay alive. Therefore Kitessa and Dekera took their new honor names to heart that very night. They became Sephoria and Samson. Sephoria would protect her brother and do what had to be done to insure his survival. In this way her brother was her anchor.
Their true natures began to develop as they aged. Samson became a righteous young man. Each crime they had to commit to afford to eat weighed heavily on his conscious. Sephoria on the other hand was the opposing side of the coin. She delighted in things that could make her brother squirm. She was willing to do the things he refused to do, and often lied about where she had gotten her money to protect his soft heart.
A mysterious knight in shining armor:
There had been a small rift between Sephoria and her brother since they escaped death in childhood. Samson no doubt believed it would have been better to die than to do anything it took to survive. He grudgingly followed his sister though as that was their way. Of course Sephoria never would have thought that a woman would come between them not long after.
In those days a small group of mercenaries that called themselves ‘The Protectors’ soon made their entry to the scene. The Protectors were trying to distribute medical and food supplies to the Garhoon people. They were protected by the government, but the local crime lord, named King, was outraged at them cutting into his profits.
The Protectors found themselves under constant attack, but they were well trained warriors being pitted against thugs with little training. Among their number was a young fiery Epicanthix named Ivy who ended up getting cut off from her comrades. She was cornered by many of the Garhoon thugs that had been contracted to kill her. Sephoria moved in for the kill when suddenly Samson did the unthinkable.
For years Sephoria would wonder what Samson saw in Ivy. Perhaps a beam of light shined down from the heavens and illuminated her as angels chanted in the background. Regardless, something about that woman in her out of place white armor sent Samson into a fury. He erratically attacked the other Garhoon thugs as his sister attacked the Epicanthix.
Sephoria was stronger, but Ivy was easily the better fighter. With her training and conditioning she quickly had the Garhoon women on the ground at knifepoint with Sephoria struggling to keep from getting impaled.
In the end it was Samson that managed to stop Ivy from killing his sister. He had dispatched the others and was quickly pulling the knife out of Ivy’s hands. She was distrustful of him at first, but the sounds of more Garhoon thugs on the way made her follow as he showed her an escape route through the alleys while Sephoria was left to catch her breath and drag herself to her feet.
Ivy survived that day because of Samson though she still didn't truly trust him for some time. Never the less he saw his chance to redeem himself. He quickly leaped to join The Protectors because their ideals aligned with his own. Samson no longer had to lead a life of crime to survive. The small rift between the siblings suddenly exploded. Sephora was no longer the guardian of her brother.
Truly alone for the first time:
The two Lusranae’s drifted further and further apart. Sephoria tried to fit in with Samson’s new compatriots, but she was having trouble controlling her bloodlust and losing her mantle as the matriarch. Soon The Protectors were called to another planet. Samson left Sephoria with what money he had earned and said goodbye to her. He felt it best to leave her behind rather than to have her killed because she couldn't control herself around non-Garhoons.
For the first time Sephoria was truly alone in the world. Her mind began to cave in on itself without her brother. She had always protected him, but he was the opposing force that balanced her out. Soon her thoughts turned to why her brother would abandon her. That harlot Ivy must have ensnared his mind. What did her blood taste like? These questioned fueled a new rage in the young woman.
The Frenzy:
Sephora escaped her home planet by stowing away on a transport ship. Upon being unleashed upon the galaxy she joined up wth a mercenary group that called themselves ‘The Frenzy’. It was a funny coincidence that she’d follow in her brother’s footsteps on the other side of the spectrum once more.
The Frenzy was everything that The Protectors weren't. They had no qualms about what they did to earn their money. The young Garhoon woman was soon drowning herself in a frenzied sensory overload of blood, booze, and sex. Food sources were plentiful and thrills came cheap for mercenaries in the plague ravaged wastes. For a time she forgot all about Samson and her desire to kill Ivy.
Defeat and a Renewed Vigor:
Years passed before she ran into those knights in shining white armor again. The Protectors and Frenzy clashed for supremacy over supplies. The Protectors hoped to use the supplies to help people while the Frenzy simply wanted to profit.
Sephoria found herself routed. Her squad was dead and she suddenly had five blaster barrels facing her just like had happened to that harlot Ivy years prior. Only they didn't fire as a woman’s voice had belayed the order to execute her.
Soon Sephoria was looking up at Ivy’s face, the owner of the voice that had just delayed her execution. Ivy had recognized Sephoria and was trying to help her up. Unfortunately intense rage overcame the Garhoon who attacked the Epicanthix without warning. She proceeded to share blows with Ivy, but the direction of battle had changed since their last fight. This time Sephoria wasn't an untrained street urchin. Ivy was being pushed back.
Sephoria was mentally unbalanced and in the throes of bloodlust. Ivy got many good attacks in, but she was holding back. The woman was screaming something at Sephoria, but she couldn't hear it. Soon it was Sephoria who had Ivy on the ground with a downward knife. She was pushing the blade, overpowering Ivy slowly when suddenly one of the words got through to her mind. ‘Samson’.
One of the Other Protector’s rifle butts hit the side of her head and sent her tumbling off of Ivy at that moment. Finally she had calmed down to hear what Ivy was saying. Samson had been captured. She needed help finding her husband. Ivy had married Samson and was now Ivy Lusranae. Apparently her brother had picked up his old noble name. There was no reason not too with neither of them living on their home planet.
Emotional Floodgates:
Sister? As Sephoria laid on the ground defeated, she suddenly broke down into tears. She had hated Ivy for so long, but she avoided tracking them down for what she would have done to the two of them. Now Ivy was her sister, and her brother was potentially dead. This unlocked all of the hatred, sorrow, and pain that she had bottled up deep inside of her. She wept openly as two of the Protectors dragged her up to her feet like dead weight.
She wept for some time until finally no more tears could be summoned. Her sorrow had turned back to malice and someone was going to die for taking Samson from her. Perhaps it wouldn't be Ivy, but someone was still going to die. Reluctantly the woman joined The Protectors though she didn't’t don their ridiculous white armor.
To hunt a dark god:
The target didn't hide himself in the shadows. The man referred to himself as Lord Salas, and led a terrorist group called Splinter Arc. He had taken Samson prisoner to humiliate the Protectors when they ran afoul of Splinter Arc. Ivy spoke of the powers he was able to summon through the force. They assumed that Salas was a powerful Sith Lord, but either way he was able to overwhelm them easily enough. Several of their number had been killed in the retreat.
Sephoria and Ivy hunted Splinter Arc agents for two years before they finally managed to track down Lord Salas’ personal transport. There the sisters stormed the ship with what few Protectors remained. The battling was fierce, and the Lusranae sisters were able to take much ground from Salas’ forces. Unfortunately they couldn't get past his powers. The Protectors were routed just as they got a glimpse of Samson frozen in carbonite. Sephoria’s brother was being kept as a trophy. The Protectors had been a thorn in this man’s side and he chose to laugh in their face in this way.
She couldn’t help to admit that it was a funny joke. Salas had style and she respected that. If it had been anyone else’s brother it wouldn't have bothered her in the slightest. Never the less she was defeated, and untrained in the ways of the force to even stand a chance.
Sephoria practically dragged Ivy from that battle. Seeing Samson being so close had enraged her sister, and they were both too wounded to continue. Instead she dragged her into Lord Salas’ personal escape pod as she remotely triggered the explosives they had set earlier in case they failed.
The explosives crippled the transport ship so that it couldn't give chase as the escape pod flew away. If they had to detonate the ship then it was likely that it would be a suicide mission. After all there were no inhabitable planets nearby, and the escape pod certainly didn't have any kind of hyper-drive capabilities. Yet Sephoria was surprised to find cryo stasis chambers on board the escape pod. No doubt Salas had equipped it for such an event.
Sephoria pushed Ivy into one of the stasis chamber’s despite the woman's protests. They’d live to fight another day even if one of them had to be forced to do it. Soon the Garhoon set the next one and entered it herself.
A new galaxy:
A galaxy without the plague, and with many factions looking to rebuild the galaxy in their own image. It was hard to even imagine such a thing in the time they lived in. Yet nearly 150 years later they arose from their stasis chambers to see such a thing.
The sisters parted ways then to each search for Samson in their own way. They kept in contact, but each had a different mission even if they didn't know it. Ivy hated force users for what had happened to her husband. Sephoria did resent Lord Salas for what he did to her brother, but even deeper than that was her admiration for the man's power. It was raw power that she wanted for herself.
It was not surprising that her search brought her to Byss a year later. There she stumbled across Darth Moridin. The Sith Master took interest in her and trained her in his ways in secret. Sephoria instantly took delight in his bloody methods. The missions he sent her on were thrilling challenges to sate her thirst for destruction.
Ivy still hadn’t let go of Samson and searched the galaxy for him. Sephoria took up the blade and sharpened it with a glint in her eyes. She'd kill Salas for different reasons. If she could kill him then she had surpassed him.
