[SIZE=14pt]Appearance[/SIZE]

Seraphina is the daughter of the Lord of the Forge, and to this, every aspect of her appearance attests. Her clothing is of the very finest quality and her features are delicate and dignified. Seraphina is a hybrid; half human and half Dathari, a species native to the planet of Morradan. As a result, she has inherited traits of both species. Her human blood has allowed her to avoid the less attractive features of the Dathari, namely their rapidly aging features. Still, her Dathari heritage is present in her the very pale color of her skin, far fairer than any full blooded human would naturally be. This is contrasted by her raven black hair which falls in an ebony cascade down past her shoulders. Her facial features are soft and rounded, and her eyes a light blue which, thanks to her mixed-race heritage, have the faintest glow.

[SIZE=14pt]Personality[/SIZE]

Perceptive (+): Seraphina prides herself on being highly observant and possessing keen insight into the others around her. She possess a photographic and autographic memory, recalling almost every detail she encounters. What's more, she takes notice of these details almost immediately upon encountering them, no matter how small. This natural perception makes it very superbly alert at all times, and it is nearly impossible to surprise her. This same skill set allows her to take immediate notice of even subtle changes on the faces or in the tones of those she interacts with, as a result it requires one masterful in the art of deception to effectively misled her. These abilities are augmented by her strong connection to the Force which aids her in peering into the hearts and minds of those around her.

Calculating (+): Seraphina believes that one must not act rashly, regardless of the circumstances. Instead, she is patient in planning her maneuvers and attacks and when she does strike it is sudden and ferocious- this is true physically and socially. The inclination is aided by her above discussed perception, remembering every detail surrounding an incident and incorporating them into her plans, it also helps in that she collects enough information rapidly enough to make a calm, well-reasoned decision even if only given a brief moment to gather her thoughts. Seraphina's belief that actions must be carefully considered and all possible repercussions accounted for serves to incline her towards level-headedness and patience. She is not easily provoked and will endure slights and insults with grace and composure, plotting retaliation all the while.

Perfectionist (+/-): To say that Seraphina did not come from a loving home would be an understatement. Her father despised her and, were it not for her status as a second heir, has stated that he would have killed and eaten her. She, however, is a perfectionist and refused to except her father's callous disregard towards his only daughter. Despite his disdain for her, she strove constantly to earn his approval and affection. This drive from her childhood has stayed with her as she matured. She is willing to devote countless hours to honing a skill or perfecting an ability. This has resulted in her being incredibly skilled in many specific areas as well as extremely competent more broadly. However, this can be as much of a liability as an asset. Repeated failure drains her rapidly- both emotionally and physically- and she becomes discouraged in the face of an impossible task, such as gaining her father's affection.

Unforgiving (-): Seraphina has never been taught the value of forgiveness. Her childhood was filled with a lack of empathy and always increasing demands, and though she could succeed in meeting any demands placed on her she never satisfied her father's expectations and thus frequently suffered the cost of her failure. The punishments encouraged her to work harder, push herself further and she sees no reason why this wouldn't be true of others as well. She remembers every slight done against her and will spend months, or even years plotting her vengeance. Unfortunately, it is often better to let go then hold a grudge and she's perfectly willing to sacrifice the opportunities that reconciliation might breed in the name of restoring her honor through vengeance. While some might claim that this is ultimately self destructive, she believes it is a demand of her lofty heritage.

[SIZE=10.5pt]Validation (-):[/SIZE] Raised in the fanatical city of Velocitan, Seraphina was surrounded by the fanatically devout but culturally wanting Dathari, who were especially suspicious of her due to her human ancestry. Already a strange species who were bred with a single-minded devotion to their labor, her alien appearance and the unearned disdain of the Lord of the Forge directed at her earned her personal non grata status in her own home. As a result, she led a very lonely existence. Eager for companionship and acceptance, she has striven constantly to earn the acceptance of her father and others. She is desperate for approval and this results occasionally in her taking actions against her own best interests. This is especially true in the case of her father and her brother, who she will go to any lengths to please and impress. However, this also extends ore broadly to those she interacts with. She also has an innate fear that the approval she does receive is either false or fading, urging her to strive forever in a never-ending cycle.

[SIZE=14pt]Biography[/SIZE]

Seraphina was born to the Lord of the Forge and a human concubine of his. Born the second of her hybrid species, she and her brother are the only two Dathari-Human hybrids known to exist. This uniqueness was viewed as an unholy anomaly by the natives who refused to interact with the girl, even in spite of her being the daughter of the honored Lord of the Forge. This anti-hybrid disdain was led by none other than her father who had the particular misfortune of having two children with his human concubine, herself and her older brother, and no other children. Thus, while their mixed blooded heritage would frequently inspire his fury he always stopped short of murdering his children. The rest of society treated her with similar restraint.

As a child, she did not have a strong grasp on the concept of hating someone for their membership in a larger body as opposed to something they had done personally. Even today, all these years later, she can recall laying on the rocky ground of the courtyard after collapsing from exhaustion. She swore that she would do better. That she would meet his expectations and then exceed them. She never deviated from this drive, and while she never met her father's insatiable demands, any reasonable person was forced to concede that Seraphina was a mightily competent study.

As she descends from Morradan royalty, the same blood that ran in the veins of the first sorceress of the Dathari runs in her veins today. This affords Seraphina an innate and intimate connection to the Dark SIde of the Force. As a child, her studies were centered primarily on mastering these natural abilities and she excelled in all of them. However, none of it ever proved enough to allow her integration into Dathari community or entrance into the good graces of her father. In this isolation, she had only her brother, Gael, to rely on. As her older brother, he alone provided her with assurance and stability as well as being her soul source of any degree of kind social interaction. This bond developed in their youth has continued to grow as she matured. Today, she is devoted to her brother and looks forward eagerly to his eventual reign as Lord of the Forge.

As she continued to age, her bond with the Dark Side only grew stronger. Rapidly, she became one of the most competent practitioners of the Force on the scarcely populated planet, and her skill has continued only to grow. It was this fluency in the language of darkness that earned her the begrudging respect of the Dathari and, as she sprinted towards unprecedented heights, the simple minded Dathari came to admire her. Today, she is regarded as a prophet, sufficiently in touch with the Dark Side to sense the wills and mental murmurings of the Lord of the Forge and communicating them to the populace. However, even though she has now earned a place of prominence in the subterranean society it has only served to make her father more suspicious and distrustful of her. Thus, even her greatest triumph has served, ultimately, only to further strain relations with the man she's struggled to please her entire life.

[SIZE=10.5pt]She has recently taken up the bold position of lobbying her father to consider opening the planet up to the wider galaxy. Seraphina believes that the planet can become a galactic powerhouse, producing the finest products in the weapons with the power of the Forge, itself a Dark Side nexus. However, her father, firstly, doesn't feel respect her enough to even consider her advice, and secondly, believes that the proper path for the planet is one of isolation, not interaction. Completley locked out of any position of influence with her father, she has chosen to deepen her connection to the Force in an effort to strengthen her hold over the native Dathari. [/SIZE]

[SIZE=14pt]Strengths & Weaknesses[/SIZE]

Profile_Picture_IV.png

You Don't Know the Power of the Dark Side (+): Seraphina has studied the dark arts her entire life, and has been pressed- by both external and internal forces- to pursue the ultimate achievement; to perfectly master the Dark Side. This devoted, almost reckless, surrender to the Dark Side has blessed the girl with power far beyond her years. She relies on pure incarnations of the Dark Side and the essence of hatred itself as her primary weapons. What's more, the Dark Side seems alive in the space around her, moving to protect her from threats she, herself, is unaware of. With such power comes a cost, and as she surrenders herself to the Dark Side in return for power greater than she had ever imagined, it causes her appearance to shift to demonstrate the blackened nature of her soul, though these effects begin to recede after some time at rest, they are perpetually present when she is near the Dark Forge. In this state, her hair fades to ashen grey, her flesh becomes even paler, and her eyes trade their natural blue for a jarring red. Unfortunately, her body is too fragile to handle such a concentrated use of Dark Side energy and while prolonged use will not kill her immediately, it will exhaust her and do severe damage to her physical and mental prowess with the ability of depleting her life energy far too soon if used in abundance.

Everything Is Proceeding As I Have Foreseen (+): The Dark Side has opened the gateways to many arcane secrets, but one of the most valuable to Seraphina is the ability to sense what is about to happen. This most commonly manifests itself either just before or during violent struggle and gives her the ability to react to the actions of her opponents before they have fully made them. This is a tremendous asset that allows her to avoid getting hit with measurable success. The same sensitivity helps her peer into the hearts of those around her, putting their darkest desires and most shameful secrets on display before her. Less frequently, this same ability has endued Force visions which she acts on to the best of her abilities. This does, however, serve only to make it more difficult to build genuine relationships with others as she is acutely aware of the duplicitous, traitorous nature innate to most of those who surround her and knows that these traits are contained only by fear.

The Dark Side is a Path to Many Abilities Considered Unnatural (+/-): She has the good but odd fortune of being part Dathari, a race that has evolved under the guidance the Dark Side. This has granted them some strong immunities; for example, she can with stand temperatures of frightening heat with ease. Her nails are more firm than humans and can act as legitimate weapons if need be, though Seraphina considers this to be dreadfully undignified. On the other hand, she also shares the innate hunger of all Dathari which can be satisfied only through the despicable act of cannibalism. While she can suppress these urges while in close proximity to the Dark Forge, with distance her resolve is weakened. And once the hunger has set in it must be satisfied; she can refuse it for a time but it will grow in intensity until she feeds either on Dathari or Human meat, to refuse this base most instinct for too long has a myriad of side effects, none of them pleasant and some of them deadly.

I Am Your Father (-): While Seraphina does an excellent job of maintaining her composure and ensuring that she is always calm, cool, and collected, the marks her father has made on her psyche and personality are permanent. She organized her entire life for many years around pleasing him, and this was never a realistic goal. She has internalized her father's outlook and, though she'd proudly boast of her abilities, is ultimately deeply insecure and filled with self-loathing, stemming from a genuine belief that she is simply not good enough. While this anger fuels her Dark Side abilities and her drive to be recognized as the best, it is also a point of substantial weakness- one that cannot be cured, and in the even that it was, she would lose the source of her power she has long since come to rely upon. She is doomed to toil her life away striving, unsuccessfully, to escape her father's specter.

There's Always A Bigger Fish (-): Seraphina is no martial master, and she is well aware of this. Her royal blood, while putting a great deal of stress upon her, did afford her certain luxuries. Perhaps chief among these was the constant vigilance of a very large, very protective Noghri named Anhur who was quick to interject himself into anything with the potential of developing into a physical conflict. As a result, she is completely unable to take a hit and should one make it past her Dark Side defenses and actually engage her in hand-to-hand-combat, she will falter immediately.

Thanks, I appreciate it! I had to scold the bb code and put it in time out to get everything to format properly, but eventually it worked.
