Serena storyline and Sjo

I tried to get some feedback on this as its very discouraging to me the level at which I feel is safe to use her given the storyline. . Of the two people I approached in admin one responded.

If she's got no memory I'm not sure how to keep her active within sjo.

It may be best I withdraw her until it's restored. I feel she's useless to sjo. And I often feel like we start stories that never get finished.

So if you've got some feedback. Great. If not. Ok.

I like her and want to see her continue on. The character losing her memory was interesting and her friends within the order should try and help her regain it.

I think these situations as it's so dependent on the direction you want to take her, so its difficult unless someone has an ahah moment to comment. My approach is to bombard you with options, to fire up your own muse.

You have these angles, as an example, to leverage for character development.

Memories:
  • Healing the rift.
  • Exploring what it means to be without an identity.
  • Finding out her old identity - aka Jason Borne
  • Finding out things about her past she had buried in her previous life (to add new things in to suit a direction.)

Faction:
  • Finding her role in the faction can be an entire character arc in itself, not a problem, but a journey for you to write out.
  • Defining a role for her, she might be able to focus her abilities on the problem itself, so you might be the guide for new people as they come, I went through this! Your character can say, from a completely blank slate to someone who helps others, heals others, protects others, whatever you like.
  • What are her strengths, what would she like to setup, what did she do before that was important to her, how does this go forward?
Family/Friends/Past Links

  • Take a look at my character list. None of them has any IC family yet, like one? Pick one :)
In essence you have a blank slate. How i'd personally do it, is write a brand new character, then at times have her old personality creep in, so you almost have 2 muses in one body. Fun stuff to write out, for me anyway.

Hope some of that helps.

Because her empathy was so strong nearly driving her insane she's been around only a few.
That makes it better, it means she has people who know her more then just being in the order, she has people who would realize she is missing, realize something is off and who should be trying to help her more.

My muse is fine for Wren/Serena. The story has always been a series of events that make her stronger in her belief that she's a Jedi. The event happened and I couldn't see her not being adversely affected.

This time of memory loss is to show her life without the force life of those that suffer daily because of hardship. Sith intervention. A"walks mile in my shoes" look that she always remembers. By her not being Serena and having a gradual reconnect to the force she will learn about herself and her own strength.

My biggest issue is how to remain part of the faction when I can't have her participate in stories since she's not here. And devoting time to stories that go hot for a bit and die.

Lol. I don't think anyone realizes she's missing. The event took many it could be assumed she just disappeared .

Matsu and Quenladose noticed she is missing she has helped them both out being a padawan to one of them, just I have you engaged with one thread and didn't want to make to many.

as for the faction, not everyone participates in all the threads, it isn't a requirement. You can move and thread how you want and you know I am always making threads you can join in on. That aren't some story heavy or complicated, just for fun.

It gets hard to keep straight. I have two maybe three that are pre loss, then three that are during. I asked someone last night to read one of my pre loss posts and they said it was ok. Which means to me I'm losing focus on her storyline.

What i've seen done quite effectively is have someone, an alt or another poster turn up to tell people a Jedi is missing. Thus can begin an effort to locate her.

If its more a case of she's not active in faction events yet and you want her to be, well you can skip ahead of Kei's thread and still continue on fluid time here. We can round that up relatively quickly if it'll help, if its a bit confusing for you to maintain past/present timelines.

Though it'd be nice perhaps to have a list of missing Jedi up somewhere so people have a reason IC to look for them, mini mission so to speak. Anyone could post that their character is on the list.

I think one factor proving difficult is you pushing Serena further and further into this storyline without making any lifelines to hold onto if things don't go according to plan, and now you're getting a point where you've almost "trapped" yourself and you can't get back out.

It's not a fault, not at all, but something I think you may have overlooked while you were making her story flesh out.

All the threads she has done have been about this issue and story and it's dragging her deeper and deeper into the nightmare she is in but can't find a way out of.

I wouldn't like to think leaving the SJO is the answer, we just need to bring Serena back to be more...humane, and able to let some of the past go because it seems it's holding onto her no matter what she tries to do.

Will there ever be a final outcome for her?

[member="Kei Amadis"] what you suggest could work. Would have been nice if someone in the order saw her as missing. It's like saying yeah there's a Jedi missing but it's not as important as this....insert whatever it is. But I can have an alt do it.

[member="Connor Harrison"] I don't know that she's not humane. I'm just not getting the depth I want for her. I want all of what made her bounce from temple to temple come out be resolved that she's found a home. Emotional distress. Abilities that grow in intensity the focus on her empathy. A reason not to do after stories is not knowing how the current ones will end that could alter her journey.

Serena been around [member="Nima Tann"] story didn't finish. Been around [member="Connor Harrison"] a few times. Around [member="Coci Heavenshield"] [member="Anastasia Rade"] [member="Hawk Solo"] [member="Emma Prinn"] [member="Xander Carrick"] and the stories weren't all about the emotional aspects.
