Description: Though much of the netherworld is filled with places of darkness and pain there are a precious few places where beings of light find solace. Serenity's Redoubt is one such place, though to say it is without dangers would be a mistake. The redoubt brings serenity in such a way as it makes those that enter not want to leave. In fact the longer one lingers the less inclination they have to be anywhere else until they find they can't leave at all. The other danger is that once they enter they can't leave the way they came and if they try they are transported back in. The only way out is to climb to the top of a cliff and jump off into the bright swirling clouds below the cliff. Constant rays of soft light fill the area and illuminate the top of the cliff that contains lightbringers pyre.
Lightbringers pyre is an ever burning stack of wood resting upon a base of ivory marble-like stone. The flames of the pyre are brilliant blue and give off no heat. The pyre's smoke is said to cause force viaions designed to strengthen lightside spirits and alter dark ones. The effects on a living thing some how transported to the netherworld would be deep force visions desinged to test a lightsider for impurities and burn them out. The pain from such an experience would be intense in such a way as it could quite easily be deadly, but since living things going there would be highly unlikely it shouldn't be a worry. To a darker aligned being the smoke would put them through terrible mental and physical agony as it began purging darker emotions and forcing them to xome to grips and face the darkness inside of them. Whether they like being dark or not the pyre will cause them to face there actions and thoughts while exerting guilt and a conscience whether they normally have one or not. Psychotic and or otherwise disturbed people will be granted clairity enough that they still have to face themselves and possibly death in the process. Non-force sensitive beings will feel a much milder effect unless they are absolutely horrible things but the general effect is the same though death is unlikely.
History: Serenity's Redoubt is thought to be named for the force preistess Serenity of Moribban. Whether that is the case or not is uncertain. The place itself appears as a forest cave with moss covered ground and a spiraling stone walk leading up to the top of a huge cliff. The cliff contains a pyre that burns continuously and never lessens nor grows in size. It maybe a symbolic place of light meant to give tranquil rest to the dead or a place for the dark things of the netherworld to come and find redemption but in either case it is not a place the living could easily leave. The only true exit is to walk through the smoke of the pyer and leap from the cliff into darkness below, an act known as the leap of faith. If someone does manage to take the leap they would be able to leave and be in a completely different location in the netherworld though where is uncertain.
