Description: SBY is a company founded on the principle of manufacturing the kinds of astronautical equipment no one thinks of but everyone secretly needs. This latest installment in the lineup is no different. Designed especially with smugglers and scoundrels in mind, the SG-1, SG-2 and SG-3 Anchors are a simple and incredibly effective solution to an age-old method of "securing" ships to stations or one-another. The concept is simple: a driver propels the magnetically locking head towards the target ship, station or object, connected to the host vessel by two extremely thick tungsten-durasteel braided cables. The magnetic head's sheer mass and inertia is often enough to get it through smaller deflector shields, though independent particle shields may prove more resilient against its approach; it is specifically instructed in the included manual to never attempt to anchor with an object while it's - and your - shields are up. The cables of each model have tolerances proportionate to the amount of sublight cruising thrust the average ships of its size range put out, with the braided dual-cable setup dividing stress between either cable and helping to prevent them from individually reaching their snapping point.
The SG-Series Anchor, whilst marketed as a stationary securing, towing and search-and-rescue device, is clearly more aimed towards the less-than-modest personas of spacer.

Ammunition Capacity: One
Effective Range:
- SG-1 Sub-Capital (10-50m Ships): 100m
- SG-2 Capital Model (51-200m Ships): 300m
- SG-3 Naval Model (201m+ Ships): 500m
Special Features: The SG-1 counts as a cannon or point-defense, the SG-2 counts as a turbolaser, and the SG-3 counts as a heavy turbolaser.
Strengths:
- Great for towing things, securing things, or generally being a butt lord in space.
- The cables can be used by the creative as a medium for certain other weapons and devices, such as electrical.
- Requires user's particle or deflector shields to be lowered to work (operating with shields up is sure to end in hilarious chaos for the user)
- In most circumstances requires the target's shields to either be lowered or at least softened for the anchor to connect.
- Anchor to a larger ship at your own risk (see: Newton's Third Law).
- Cables are not immune to being damaged, i.e. shot at.
- Putting more than a couple on your ship is redundant and sure to make you look silly, if not get you killed (see: above).
