OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To make a standard Navcomputer for Guardian Authority (and whoever orders them) ships
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source: N/A
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Guardian Authority Ltd.
  • Affiliation: Silver Jedi Concord
  • Market Status: Open-Market
  • Model: Serrano series Navcomputer
  • Modularity: No (not really needed)
  • Production: Mass-Produced
  • Material: Standard Electronics, and Components.
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • SENSOR ENHANCED - Like all other Navcomputers, the Serrano series will plot the safest possible course to a plotted destination. What the Serrano will also do is "course correct". A direct connection to both the Sensor Suite and the Hyperdrive allow for the trip to shut down automatically if there is an obstacle in the previously plotted route, plot a new course and jump into hyperspace on its own.
STRENGTHS
  • FAST COURSE PLOTTING - All you have to do is enter the coordinates of where you want to go, the Serrano will do the rest.
  • COURSE CORRECTION - The Serrano is connected to the hypedrive and if a sudden obstacle in the plotted course, shut down, plot a new course and jump to hyperspace on its own.
WEAKNESSES
  • FIRST GENERATION PROBLEMS - One of the reported problems to this point is the inability to manually jump to hyperspace, or manually plot courses. The automation is a great convenience, but proves to be a hindrance when there is damage to the systems of the ship.
  • WHERE THE (CENSORED) ARE WE? - The automatic course correction will be a great thing when the bugs are removed from it. It does not happen a lot, but when a course correction commences, sometimes a ship gets sent WAY off course.
DESCRIPTION
The partnership between Lucerne Labs and Guardian Authority Ltd. has been incredible beneficial to the latter of the two companies. The gracious "mentorship" that has been given has been monumental and will never be forgotten. However a bird cannot fly if it doesn't jump out of the nest. This is the next in a long line of tech that will hopefully make the company self sufficient in ship and vehicle building. The Serrano series Navcomputer is a design in the eye of "efficiency" and "ease", the company leadership want tech that makes things easier, but not so easy that one loses a sense of themselves. (I,E, - You will never see fully automated ships, maybe remote)
