Setting a fox among the hens

Lucien was frustrated ... very frustrated. He was trying to invest in a small start up but he need to see how their shares were doing. Only no one seemed to know , you see the union lacked a centralised stock market so stock trading was fragmented with each planet running it's own market only each planet said something different. What was it with finance specialists and seclusion. He threw a whisky glass across the room "Kark this" He shouted and pushed himself up from his desk. He needed a cigar. "Get someone to clean that up , I'll be on the roof"

The buzz of his cigar and the early evening air calmed him a little. He spent a good five minutes contemplating what he could do about it. The system needed centralising that was a certainty but how would he do it, the individual market overseers weren't going to let him muscle in and take over willingly. No he would need to force them.

He returned to his office to make some calls firstly to his offices on Roon. Then to [member="Jennifer Blanchard"] the Foreman's personal online attack dog. She had proved quite capable in the past and he bet she could help now.

Miss Blanchard

I have another Job for you if your interested, It pays well. Get back to me.

Lucien Cordel

It would be rather helpful having the right hand of the union leader on board. It would inspire confidence and help make the transition smoother.

See? This was the issue. The Techno Union ran off of ones and zeros, and while that was great for Jenn and others like her, to protect, to exploit, whatever, she knew that there had to be a way to watch everyone. The trick was planetary and galactic economies didn’t mesh all that well. Working with a galactic wide economy did make it pretty nearly an infinite system. And that was useful for her overlords.

Yeah, so what? She was an Obsidian Knight and came here as a movement from the Tion Hegemony to help with setting everything up and getting it off the ground. Plus, she’d be more useful on this front and not helping with the behind the scenes. And really, she was.

The trick was, she knew that [member="Lucien Cordel"] needed help with setting that up, and she would do what she could, it was a matter of it being enough. That was the trick here. Besides, she liked to do her homework before showing up to offer assistance anywhere.

She sent a message in the affirmative, and a small query if there were going to be others joining them. She wanted to know if she was working solo here, or if there was a group.

The day that lucien took the feelings of 'overlords' into account was the day he went senile. Of course he would ever play the conscientious good boy, making enemies of the ruling individuals was never good for one's well being. He could and indeed would spin a centralised stock market as being best for everyone. It might well be but the important thing is that it was best for him.

He was pleased to see that [member="Jennifer Blanchard"] was willing to help, she had proved more than capable in the past and she had connections connections that lucien couldn't boast yet. He replied almost immediately ... well almost he had to wait for his secretary to return from her break. It explained that at present it was just the two of them but he was looking into wider assistance, it also explained that lucien intended to meet in person. He would meet Jennifer in the ruins of the Fortress of Tawntoon on Roon at six pm the following day. He was ever the fan of theatrics the the ruins of a fort clinging to the side of a volcanic crater afforded the necessary seclusion.

Jenn had her own thing that she did. The slicer was… well, she would call herself a slicer, never a hacktivist, but she definitely kind of was. She didn’t need help with most computing systems, her education on the subject and her Force potential allowed her to slice most thing relatively quickly. It was a skill, an art, really. The trick was, she was going to need to be creation-creative here with [member="Lucien Cordel"].

That would be a bit more tricky.

She got the message and the slicer made sure all her gear was in order. That meant her Obsidian armor as well. It had a lot of processing power and would link nicely to her implants to help her with the whole hacking bit she was probably going to have to do. What they were going to do here? She wanted to know the steps, else she wasn’t sure she’d be able to master it. Having taken her Santhe Challenger (Thanks Santhe!) she made her way to Roon for the meeting time.

And waiting near the crater.

Lucien arrived at the crater, looking about all in sight was decayed and desolate. It was hard to believe this had once been a key strategic point at some point in history. He came into the ruins and saw [member="Jennifer Blanchard"] she was less sun deprived than he imagined ... in his mind slicers were all recluses who never went outside.

"Miss Blanchard, I presume " He said by way of a greeting

He lit up a cigar and gestured around "My apologies for the environment ... I couldn't trust this request to the holonet ... your kind might have heard too and I can't allow that " He had recently noted the arrival of another investment banker and he wanted to keep as much of his pie as possible.

"This had to be in person, I am looking to create a centralised stock market and I gather from our previous work together that you will be able to help"

It wasn't that she had all the time in the galaxy to just drop things at a second notice. No by far it was the strange of how this brought to her attention. Nothing through the channel but different. It was this that peek her own interest. If only to cheek out if be something that would work for what her own goals. No it had taken some doing to put down her own projects.

Finding herself to this planet of Roon had taken some doing. It was as if she had a stealth ship. Finding herself getting up and wanting sure that her suit had not wrinkle in it. Knowing of by now everyone would know what happen in the peace talk if not she would be lucky. It was for most she was her as business lady she had became if it peeks her interest that it would be something she would cheek out.

Walking up now to the fact that one being new to the business world but making a name for herself fast will in the marketing of foods. It was amazing how much one could corner that market. Even so she would see who else had taken and interest in such matters. As it came to be there was as it look from the distance another redhead. This could only mean one thing it would be Marek little puppy[member="Jennifer Blanchard"] but this didn't bother her this was good sign that he was still about right or was she going out on her own. Either way one could find out soon enough. then came some of the others he didn't seem to know but look like other investors then came the other one that seem but just the feel if anything that he was the one that might be one calling this meeting.

"Greetings, Ladies and Gentlemen.", she knew how to do the working right not go to our norm sweet peas and sugar pie.

They’d really only met over holocom. Jenn was… she was pretty typical of a slicer, but with [member="Emerald Sage"], her agent of Tion partner, she was kind of forced to go into the field. Really, she’d prefer to sit at the ship and let Em handle everything, but no… that wasn’t going to happen. Things never went easy. And as a member of the Obsidian Order? She needed to make appearances for appearances sake.

“I can help work on your HoloNet terminal if you want…” She looked around at the crater. She’d been to worse places. She didn’t mind these types of meetings, all clandestine, but she was a Net Zillo, not Net Taozin, and sure as hell not in the SpyNet.

“I can definitely help with the programming, its just a matter of what I need to program.” She felt the newcomer and turned to them, nodding. Right. [member="Seanna Vel"], one of Marek’s students at one point or another.
