Sever Force

[member="Asemir Lor'kora"] - Ashin can bestow Force sensitivity, but she can't sever it. Mara Merrill has a Holocron on the subject but I've never RPed her learning it in any serious way.

Whoa, how do you bestow Force Sensitivity? Do you cause the midichlorians that a person has to multiply significantly until they can sense the Force? Can you bestow it on someone who is Force dead?

The Force moves and flows through all living things. So every living person has the Force inside them. Flowing through them. They simply lack the evolutionary *sensitivities* towards it. That's why in many forms of writing and media there are the so called Lineages of the Force. Bloodlines. so to speak. So... It's not terribly unreasonable that these traits could be unlocked, bestowed, endowed, awakened, or mutated upon another living person. However, it probably wouldn't affect their children in the same manner as a natural.

Also. The less said about midiclorians, the better. :D :p

I've never heard, "The Jedi High Council tried to sever my connection to the Force after war crimes on Manaan," put like that before.

You should run for office.

It's a canon thing, albeit very rare, so I'm not overly fussed about how it happens. That said, I can think of at least four Force-related traditions that can give abilities to people who would normally test out as NFUs. It takes a couple decades of dedicated study, but it's a thing, so like Jay said, the Force is errywhere. Even with some of the precedents behind bestowing Force-sensitivity, it's pretty clear that the people chosen were minor Force adepts already. (Other precedents make no such requirement.)

As for the Force dead, that's exactly what happens at the end of the NJO series: the Vong are reconciled with the sentient planet Zonama Sekot (who severed them in the first place) and some of them begin to reconnect with the Force (it's left vague, but it's heavily implied that all of them would get there eventually). Within a handful of years there's a Vong Dark Jedi running around. So in theory, yeah, you could Forceify someone Force dead, though it would require skills which need prerequisite skills which need prerequisite skills...etc.

I know a few examples off the top of my head, and this character is pioneering into studying the force (as energy) itself. Marka Ragnos was one such Sith Lord who could, Palpatine and Plagueis another. Usually it was a darker thing.
