O B J E C T I V E I: Worst Nightmare
The Empress was very good at sneaking away. This much Lilanna was learning. She wasn't exactly assigned to protect her royal highness, but, she felt it was expected to given her position. Which made the fact she kept losing track of the woman infuriating for the Warden. The only thing that worked in her favor, was her unique skill set, the ability to bypass most of the Shadow Empire's security systems and phasing through objects made it rather easy to bypass their patrols; though given the shift in activity she felt, indicated that not all was well on the home-front. She hoped that such things meant that the Empress and her escorts would be near by.
She didn't like this place. It reminded her of Levo. There was a chill that scrapped at her spine, and the sensation of ice being stabbed into her very core. This place was tainted like Korriban, but unlike Korriban, it wasn't simply the ground itself; no, the very air hear was seeping with the dark power. She needed to find Ingrid and ensure her safety, and the best way to do that was to disable the security of the base; unfortunately, Lil had no idea where that was. Using technometry, she was able to siphon some tidbits of data, but the designers of this base had be clever. The moment she began to access the system, the terminals linked to the system would cannibalize their data; effectively cutting her off from getting into the larger network of the base.
If was for that reason she managed to find a single security station near the center of the base, and why she was now making her way towards it. Thus far, she had managed to avoid detection. The equipment in her suit was one factor, though her ability to sense most of the Shadow forces helped immensely. It was for that reason that she realized she had taken a wrong turn, as the signs that were on display on the bulkhead before her indicated she had arrived at the 'disposal site'. Had she made an error? She wasn't entirely sure. Never before had her technometry been wrong, but then again, this place was strange. She felt a wave of light-headedness threaten the very edge of her mind, and she swiftly repulsed it. No, she wouldn't succumb here and now. Several life forms were on the other side of the door, many of which were weak; slaves perhaps? What troubled her though, was the number of nonliving life that lingered. They certainly were putting the 'disposal site' to good use.
She tensed her saber coming to her hand, as she opened the door. Her senses flashed, the former Sith side stepping a blaster shot from one of the armed guards. He didn't live long to regret his decision, as with a firm gesture, Lil seized the man's neck, and began to apply pressure to the neck. He had five seconds tops, leaving her time to throw her saber at the second armed bastard. He apparently thought he had a quick draw, as he had just cleared his blaster from it's holster when Lil's golden blade cut him in two.
The skirmish lasted a mere seven seconds, as the Warden catch her saber on the rebound, and stepped into the room, her thoughts going back to the Sith academy. It wasn't a pleasant place to dwell. The man she had focused on choking stopped twitching, his body giving out as the pressure on his windpipe was too much. He would live for several more minutes, technically. After that, the remaining oxygen in his brain would deplete, and he'd actually be dead. Not that it mattered. She currently inspected the collar clad captives, her gaze softening, though her pity was short lived. Already she could feel more foes moving towards her location. It seemed she hadn't been as clever as she had hoped.
Reaching out, she looked to the slaves, turning towards the door as it began to close, and calling upon the force, she focused on the collars. The small blinking lights would short out, as the Warden commanded the circuits to burn out. Fatigue finally stung at her, as she had pushed the limit of her abilities today. The disarming of the collars was the most she could manage at the moment. She couldn't free each and every one of them right now, but she could give them hope to fight alongside her. Winded, and feeling herself become sluggish, she remained steady, facing the oncoming squad of troopers. "Die fighting, or die fleeing. The choice is yours, but you are freed from the pain now." She said, her voice a mix of amplified and distorted by the functions of her suit. Her suit detected her O2 levels dipping, and flooded her helmet section with oxygen. She really needed to tweak that software, it was starting to get annoying. "Just don't get in the way." She warned, and nearly froze at the voice that whispered back in return.
'We will begin with a series of tests. It will be painful for you, but know that doing so, you will become one step closer to perfection.'
The sensation of burning needles stung at the back of her neck, the phantom pain lasting for a mere moment, but for Lil it seemed longer than that. For a second, she was no longer a warden, but merely Lilanna the Sith Apprentice, strapped to the torture rack as she was poisoned and tormented by her masters for their own enjoyment. Coming out of it, she felt anger take the place of the pain, a bit of a resurgence to her winded self, though the conscience at the back of her head cried out against her.
'Don't go back down that road. You aren't that person anymore.'
Her breathing now erratic, and struggling with a bout of anger, the warden stood as a vanguard for the newly freed slaves, though she was far more interested in rending those who came through the door to pieces limb from limb. If nothing else, it would be therapeutic.
