"The fact I can load a grenade into this and have it work the same should testify this weapon is borderline insanity for the average battlefield. But by Gods, if you want to fell even a Bantha with a shot, this is your weapon."
~Samuel Exel

  • Intent: To create a weapon that tests the limits of its wielder's body and defies good sense

  • Ammunition Type: 4-gauge slugs, 23mm grenades
  • Ammunition Capacity: Small (4+1, four in the tube and one chambered)

  • Rate of Fire: Average
  • Damage Output: Extreme
  • Recoil: Very High (Low if using 23mm grenades)

  • Recoil might be able to fix that crick in your shoulder (or, y'know, shatter it)
  • Could make a good improvised bludgeon if you have the strength to swing it
  • Ability to fire 23mm grenades allows for some tactical versatility

  • I Could Kill a Building: Preliminary testers, after recovering from their injuries, likened firing the Butcher to a personal turbolaser cannon, and it's an apt summarization of the Butcher's firepower. If you find yourself on the receiving end of a Butcher being used by an individual physically capable of doing so you better run for the hills, because it is not a weapon easily stopped, though armor that prioritizes physical protection will obviously have a better chance of doing so.
  • Tough Mutha: If you have the physical strength to swing it, the Butcher can make a damn fine bludgeoning instrument, and its sturdy construction means you could put this weapon through hell, step on it with an AT-AT, and then pick it back up and keep firing. You will break before the Butcher does, and that is a promise.
  • Variable Payload: The Butcher is capable of firing 23mm grenades in addition to 4-gauge slugs, which allows for some tactical versatility such as flash grenades or tear gas.

  • Big Mutha: The Butcher is both very large and very heavy. Truth be told, it's not very comfortable to carry, let alone fire, but then if you're the type to buy the Butcher comfort is likely far from your mind.
  • Bonegrinder: Hopefully you prefer your bones in powdered form, because the weight of the Butcher doesn't do much to mitigate the immense recoil, save that you're only likely to need a medic if you attempt to fire it without heavy-duty cybernetics, powered armor, or a physique that would make a wampa jealous, instead of definitely going to need a medic.
  • Loud and Proud: In case it needs to be said, the Butcher is not a precision scalpel. It is a blunt instrument to end all blunt instruments, and loud enough to wake the whole block.

Have you ever wanted to kill a Bantha in a single pull of the trigger? Are bowcasters too small and subtle for you? Do you have no regard whatsoever for your physical wellbeing or the integrity of your skeletal structure? If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, well look no further, friend, the Shadowhand Skunkworks "Butcher" Scattergun is here for you! The Butcher is the very definition of "overkill", though that should perhaps be expected from a shotgun whose barrel was repurposed from a point-defense gun. This scattergun primarily makes use of 4-gauge shells, though it can also be loaded with 23mm grenades to provide tactical support such as flashbangs or tear gas. You would expect the size and weight of the Butcher to reduce its recoil, wouldn't you? Yeah, you'd be dead wrong. It kicks like nothing you've ever seen before, and it takes some real force to work the pump. The Butcher is not a comfortable weapon regardless of which end of it you're on, but if you can overcome its rather large weaknesses you'll have in your hands a cannon that will break you and everything in its way long before it does. Heads? Mist. Armor? Paper. Speeders? Minor nuisance. So what are you waiting for, chummer? You're going to die eventually anyways, might as well have some fun while you do.
