Shadows in the Corner

The rise of the ship moving out of the way of others, then the fall of it descending to land on the platform was making Romeo sick to his stomach, almost to the point where he was ready to throat up in the corner of the transporter. People had been watching him, wondering what the heck was wrong with the young man. In truth, ever since [member="Alkor Centaris"] had dug a trench into his chest, Romeo was never the same after that. The reality of the galaxy finally hit him, and he knew the Jedi Order was not where he belonged. Romeo needed to figure out what these flashbacks were, and why the Dark Jedi saw someone else in him. Maybe it was the way he moved, but he was certain it was his face that had made the darksider mock his being.

Finding himself on Dromund Kaas, for some reason, this place was calling out to him, regardless how Romeo knew this was a bad place. Flashbacks of a man in a black mask walking the slums of Kaas City haunted him every hour. But it didn't stop there, they went as far as too seeing himself, as a child, in front a man much taller than him. The Vahla could not recall when this happened, but he was certain...this was not him. Why would it be he was having these flashbacks? Romeo wanted to cry out, he could not understand what these were, much less who he was. It wasn't fair.

When the pilot announced that it was time to leave, he walked over to the exit point where he was bumped into by a man in a dark hood. Romeo's eyes darted at him, how did he not feel this man's presence in the Force. The doors opened, and the man left without a word, only a smirk that screamed evil. Who was he? As Romeo stood there in thought, a small crowd began to surround him as they left the transport.

It clicked in his head, chase this man down, force him to speak. Romeo knew it was clear this person knew something to his past, a key part of his destiny. He quickly pushed, and shoved his way through the crowd. Romeo's armored robes helped clear the path for him as he chased after the man who seemed to be taunting him by turning to look at him. Yellow eyes glared at Romeo as he returned the gaze with his own violet gleam.

"Stop!"

Romeo called out.

He drew on the force to help him sprint towards the man, the force guided his legs as he shifted his hips to twist out the way of people and move fluidly till he was out of the ocean of beings. The hooded figure was already going down an ally, maybe trying to lose Romeo.

A sharp turn found Romeo in the ally way with the hooded man, along with sharp, golden eyes glowing at him. There was no time to stop and ask questions, the hooded man was already attacking. A red blade ignited, and was thrown with the force as Romeo's own green blade was ignited. His yellow one had been destroyed in the battle with Alkor, and the stormtroopers. The glowing blade rose up in a defensive position as he blocked the saber just in time. The movement was painful, though, as his wound from the Dark Jedi was still healing.

With the block, came another attack as the man was now on Romeo. He was fast. Real fast. The darkside was coming into play now as it erupted out of the man in a smoke cloud tarnishing around Romeo. It became a choking feeling as it brandished it's taint all around him. He couldn't see, and all he heard was the sounds of whispers, gently touching his hearing.

He lashed out without thinking, desperate to get out of this darkness.

A sharp pain burst through Romeo's chest as the hooded man shoved his lightsaber into his back, making it come out of his stomach. Romeo dropped in agonizing pain while still the whispers soothed his ears. They told him what he wanted to hear.

Embrace us, use us, embrace us, use us.

They continued to cull him towards the darkside like a warm bath to a dirty person. He curled in his pain and embraced it.

Why...why must this happen to me?

His mind rushed with a flashback as again a vision of a future him, or least an older him, shrouded in the same whispering darkness. The man was clam, and clear of mind. Least it felt like it.

With this in mind, Romeo believed it was time to remove the emotions swirling inside his heart. Stopping his mind from focusing on the pain, and instead of focusing on the situation. Where the man was, where he was, and how best to react to the problem before him. Romeo rose to his knees, and closed his eyes, trying to focus on the force, and it's weave of lines that connected everything. He cleared his mind of distractions, focusing on singular sounds like foot steps, the sound of cloth brushing against itself.

The sound of energy vibrating shook him to peer focus, it was coming.

Romeo ducked backwards as the hooded figure attempted to behead him with his lightsaber, only to fail, and have the Vahla send his own foot into his back. The sudden attack caught the hooded man off guard, dispelling the darkness. With his ability to see again, Romeo stood up slowly, his stomach on fire, and his back aching.

"Who are you?"

The man said nothing, just attacked again. His already heat pulsing wound was starting to hold him back in any combat situation. When he arose, and attacked Romeo, he side stepped, only to catch a glazing slice to his side. Romeo once again fell to a knee and held his side, howling in pain. As he turned around to face his attacker, once more Romeo had to dodge into a roll to keep away from the saber's blade. Finally he had enough. Focusing again on the force, Romeo gathered it all around him, and when the man came at him once more, the Vahla swung a punch. The hooded man was smashed into the side of the face.

Romeo had called on the force, attacking in instinctive movements. Calling on the force once more, he pushed his hand forward, expelling another force attack. The hooded figure slammed into the dead end of the ally. He picked up the darksider with the force, and continued to smash him into the wall till he was knocked out.

It must have been safe for Romeo to search the man, cause as he searched the man's body, a crystal dropped out of his robes. Tilting his head in curiosity, he picked it only to feel the life energy inside it surge like a beacon. "What the heck is this?" He spoke softly to himself. Pocketing it, he placed the man under arrest, force cuffing him. "This is Romeo Sin, can I get some units out here to arrest a violent darksider?"

He spoke into his comlink, and lifted the man up to look at his face one last time. He was going no where for a while. "Who the heck are you?"

Moments later, the Silver Sanctum had troopers surrounding alleyway, blocking it off from citizens. One of the Knights there debriefed Romeo.

"What happened here?"

Romeo told him everything.

"And this was the outcome. I tried to talk to him, but he wouldn't say a word."

"This man is wanted for terrorizing the Kathol. He's a rogue Sith."

Astonished, he shook his head at the Knight with a shrug.

After hours of walking, Romeo stopped in the royal district of Kaas City to recollect his thoughts of the battle that just happen. It was so random, but it seemed like the dark adept was trying to tell him something. The Vahla sat at a bench, rubbing his temples. Again, the whispers came back, nipping at his ears to try and fool him to falling. Romeo refused. Focusing back on the threads of the force, listening to the vibrations of life, he searched for his center being.

His pocket began to feel heated causing Romeo to pick his pocket, removing the crystal. It didn't glow but it felt alive almost with it's many different colors. It was like it was almost was reaching out to him. It resonated a power he could not grasp. It did not feel like the calming light of the force, but not the raging darkness that could be found in it either. It just....felt alive.

Curiosity coursed through Romeo as he rolled the crystal in his hand, pondering on it's aspects. What was this thing? Leaning back, only one idea could pop up in his head on how to figure this out. Sol'ra'ina, the Lucent, was a scholar in these things foreign in the force. She had traveled all around the galaxy.

Lucent was also his teacher in the ways of the Life Web, also known as the weave. If anyone knew what this was, it was her. Romeo's datapad beeped with a message from the Silver Sanctum. Apparently the man held a holocron, but they couldnt get it to turn on. He sighed.

Romeo gently touched the crystal with the force, prodding it from all sides. It was odd as it felt like it would prod back, as if playing a game with Romeo. Maybe it was really a live. It's crazy assorted colors reminded him of life at least.

Romeo got up from the bench, only to keel over in pain. That's right, the man had caused sever damage to Romeo, the adrenaline was probably wearing off now. First thing, get to the healer. Then see Sol'ra'ina about the living crystal. He called for pick up, and was taken to the healers of the Sanctum. Soon, the days would become intertwined with one another as Romeo sat on the waiting list to procure a ship for use.

Rhen Var was not too far, but it would be a small journey. It wasn't till the Knight that had came to Romeo's aide to arrest the hooded man that something strange happened.

"You feel lively young one, like you have more life than you did when we first met."

Romeo nodded at the Jedi. Was it the stone that the Jedi could sense? No, it was Romeo himself. He felt a new adventure rising up from this.
