Detritus Ren had achieved great status and power serving as the Shadow Priest on the Imperial Ruling Council. While the drums of war sounded across the galaxy, he could sense the shadow consume all in the galaxy. Soon the blinding light would be eclipsed and soon snuffed out entirely. The Shadow Priest had seen many visions, all of them strange and obscure, only bits and pieces were granted to him through the Force. In that ascension did he felt that he neglected his own flock, the Knights of Ren. They were left to their own devices while Detritus felt compelled to follow with the Emperor's sinister plans. No more could Detritus remain absent, for he would trust the task of making sure the Knights of Ren remained strong with another.

He called far and wide across Imperial space to summon those that followed the way of shadow. Those that seemed unable, or tempted would be compelled to seek the unholy man out. Detritus had retreated deep into the Core, the Force ultimately brought him to Prakith. Prakith was a hostile world, filled with volcanos, canyons, plateaus and all manners of rocky terrain. Still this harsh world was known for its Imperial presence in the past, not only that did the world once belonged to the dreaded Sith Lord Darth Andeddu. Andeddu is worshipped in death as the so called "God-King" many dark siders had founded various groups through the millennia that worshipped Andeddu as well as the nexus of dark side energy that was his keep. His spirit often instructed these acolytes of the dark to guard what secrets remained inside.

Detritus heard rumors that much of the knowledge was destroyed centuries ago. He couldn't shake off the feeling more secrets still remained inside, no doubt guarded by traps and obstacles of all sorts. This was why he brought the Knights of Ren. It was time for rejuvenation among the Knights. No longer allowed to remain complacent. He brought many to the surrounding cliff edge where Andeddu's keep was below, crawling with insane acolytes corrupted by the dark side.

Detritus would stand close to the very edge of the cliff. His body a mixture of the black Orbalisks that fed off of him, and a set of black robes that blended in with the obsidian appearance of the beetles. Detritus looked to all the Knights gathered and spoke full of charisma and religious fervor, even if some may not entirely understand the zeal behind his words.

"To embrace the Shadow is to face one's deepest fears. In the abyss, you shall find clarity. Let that shadow envelop you, become one with darkness for it's eerie whisper shall reveal truth to you. Hear the Shadow's call as the World Eater once did." Detritus would pause to look at the ruins of the dark side fortress below. "Here within Andeddu's Fortress will you find the abyss. Here the abyss will swallow you, as it has those that come seeking Prakith's secrets. What might happen should the Shadow control you, use your fears?" He asked before Detritus would gesture out to the mad, raving acolytes that walked around in rags, bodies heavily corrupted by the miasma of the dark side. "The abyss consumes all those not worthy to harness the shadows from within. To have it fuel you. As is our code, you take what you wish, kill who you wish, claim what is yours. My brothers and sisters make no mistake, this fortress will test you. Test us all in our faiths, purposes, paths. All that we are as the Knights of Ren. Go forth and burn, claim what you wish. Conquer the abyss and you might claim tresures as well as rebirth." Detritus would finish, instructing his followers to seek out the secrets that remained of the Sith Lord, facing what dark trials would be in store as the Knights of Ren burned and took any in their path. Detritus looked all of the group, his gaze lingered on the one known as "Orwrex." Before the unholy man gave a nod to them all, stepping aside from the cliff edge for the Knights to make the descent downwards.

Along the way would the Knights of Ren face corrupted, crazed acolytes, traps, phantoms, and perhaps the doubts they carry within. Truly this would be a trial of shadows as the Knights of Ren remerge through shadows once more.

Prakith was an unusual world. Orwrex himself knew little beyond rumors of it being an Imperial stronghold, and formerly a world belonging to a Sith Lord named Darth Andeddu. It wasn't until both him and R5-DK "Dark" walked upon the rocky surface did Orwrex feel the strong pull of the dark side. When seeing the sight of the ruined fortress of Andeddu did the dark power seem to clear to him. He looked below to see half mad dark siders roaming about, no doubt they had been drawn to the source of dark power that had been allowed to fester for what appeared to be an eternity. The glowing crimson eyes of his mask scanned every inch of the grounds. There were lunatics roaming about, but what kept them here and more to keep coming if the keep seemed empty?

"Beep... Beep! Beep! Beep!" Dark the astromech would chirp as Orwrex scouted his surroundings, not noticing that the Shadow Priest himself was watching him, and all of the Knights of Ren that were gathered. "What? No! You cannot go down there yet. Stupid droid!" The insult had visibly angered Dark who responded in kind. "BEEP! BEEP! BEEP BEEEEEEPPPP!" Drak sounded loudly as he started to ram himself into Orwrex twice. Orwrex immediately decided to step back a little. "Don't tempt me! Keep it up and i'll kick you down there myself!" Orwrex would snap back to his droid. This only caused the R5 to activate his boosters, and already take a headstart down the cliffside. "WAIT! WE AREN"T READY! DARK!!!!" Orwrex found his temper to quickly be gaining the better of him, the stubborn droid of his already took off down the cliffside straight towards the mad dark siders, and off towards the entrance of the keep. Orwrex would look back to the Shadow Priest slightly embarrased. "Apologies Ren. You know how droids can be..." Orwrex would shrug his shoulders, as he gave a bow of respect and quickly turned to head back to the droid.

He made sure to mask his presence in the Force. The droid as usual went off on his own, and started to get out of sight of Orwrex. Surprisingly the dark siders made no move for the droid. Orwrex would dig his heels into the rocky cliffs. Quickly did he shift his momentum so that he would slide down the cliffside. He pulled out his saber, turning it around so that the curved blade on the end would be at the front. There was no need to reveal his crimson blade unless he had to, for surprise would be on his side. A trail of dust would be left as he was one of the first to go down.

The slide down the cliff would end with Orwrex leaping into the air. His dark robes made it seem as if he was a crow given flight. Using the Force to guide his landing, the momentum took him downwards, and on his descent would he drop roll next to a maddening Sith. Without being noticed did he stab the dark sider with the curved blade. Quickly did Orwrex make a silent kill as well as a landing. His focus shifting back to the other wandering dark siders, and to the entrance where he could see the droid disappear deeper into the dark.

Vorik was, as it stood now, akin to a stranger of the Shadow. An outsider, garnering minor boons for allowing it to sup on the meagrest of victories. Piracy, murder, lawlessness - these things were what Vorik provided in the past, and in turn it had kept him alive. Despite that, it didn’t feel like enough. He knew there was more to these things, there must’ve been. And as if to answer his curiosities, he heard it from the edges of the Galaxy - like a flame beckoning a moth into its warm and deadly embrace. A beacon of darkness and shadow, that urged him to take his place in it’s midst.

So he listened to that urge, those sickeningly-soothing whispers. It led him here, to Prakith. The masked individual was no historian, but he didn’t need a datapad to tell him this place was ancient, teeming with that ruinous energy that so promised to fuel him. Faced now with one appearing to be well-versed in the subject, passing words like gospel. Speaking of the Shadow, codes, paths, and rebirth.

The Disciple was never really one for religious prattle. It was difficult to have time for it, when you usually had to fight tooth and nail for your life.

Yet one word stood apart more than the rest - ‘Clarity.’ Such was the very thing he was seeking, the crux of his being here. A greater, deeper understanding of the Shadow that had kept him alive thus far, that dwelled in and around his person. It was his hope that, whatever obstacles this trial may bring, he may obtain that small glimpse into its nature - and better learn how to use it for his own gain.

“So shall it be.” A murmur beneath his breath, barely audible with the helm. Some others fell in with reckless vigor, and eager bloodthirst. Not him. There was an adjustment of himself with a heft of the hybrid weapon he bore, a ‘click’ sounding out as he primed its cartridge. Then, his steps kicked off with haste. Caution was valued, but he was not going to let caution alone be the sole reason he would come away from this with nothing.

He did not encounter much resistance along his chosen route - not yet, at least. Perhaps the remnants of previous adventures had found prey elsewhere, or simply did not notice his presence; his lack of hold over the Shadow in turn meant its imprint was a whisper to those who can sense it. It was a luxury not afforded for long, however, when he came to those darker, ruin-strempt corridors. There in the darkness, mumblings and ravings sounded out, with no sight of its cause.

Vorik’s brow furrowed beneath the helm, as he slowly took aim with his weapon. Footsteps approached, and his finger began to indent upon the trigger....
