DARK EMPIRE
BRENDOK, OUTER RIM TERRITORIES

Brendok. A relatively obscure world in the Outer Rim shrouded in mystery being the home of a coven of witches that had once been rendered extinguished by the Jedi centuries ago before being restored in recent times. However one notable event that had occurred on the planet in recent memory had been a raid on the planet carried out by the Imperial Military Protectorate, a reactionary clique of Imperials that refused to accept the changing tides, rejecting both the Dark Empire and the Empire of the Lost and believing themselves to be the true continuation of Talvar's Empire. The Dark Empire knew little about what transpired during the raid, only that what had caused it to happen in the first place was the recovery of a Sith artifact allegedly stolen from Brendok.

Nevertheless because of this single event, Brendok had appeared on the radar of the Dark Empire who under Lord-Regent Marlon Sularen were now trying to further consolidate their power in the New Territories and assert themselves as a legitimate Imperial successor to Talvar's Empire. However the continued exsistence of rival Imperial factions such as the Imperial Military Protectorate and the Empire of the Lost posed an obstacle to this objective. The Imperial Military Protectorate in particular had caught the attention of the Dark Empire since both factions clashed at Yinchorr where Dark Imperial Forces expulsed I.M.P-aligned House Haskler from the planet and now under Lord-Regent Sularen, preliminary efforts were being made to bring forth an Imperial Unification under the banner of the Dark Empire which would only further bolster it's strength and enable for the proper reconquest of the New Territories.

Thus the INV Thunderer emerged from hyperspace, soon positioning itself in orbit of Brendok as it prepared to deploy an Imperial task-force to the mountain fortress of the local witch coven located there. On the bridge of the Defiance-Class Star Destroyer, Colonel Rackham looked down upon the isolated world ready to carry out another mission in the name of the Empire. "Are the Transports ready?" Rackham inquired. The senior main bay officer nodded and offered a response. "Yes, Colonel. All preparations are complete, the pilots simply await your order." he said. "Good." Rackham responded, before looking at the Captain of the Thunderer. "Captain, the Ship is yours. Maintain the Ship's current position in orbit and keep an eye out for any unwanted guests." he ordered once. "Yes sir." the Captain replied, complying with Rackham's orders.

After giving his instructions, Rackham left the bridge and made his way towards the hangars where he would proceed to board a single Command Shuttle, which soon emerged from the main ventral hangar of the Thunderer, flanked by a squadron of four HAAGs with the five transports soon making their way through the atmosphere and towards the mountain fortress of the local witch coven where the previous skirmish with the I.M.P had occurred. Today, the first proper steps towards Imperial Reunification would be taken and soon all Imperials would serve under one flag once more.

Tibera had done quite a bit of work for the Dark Empire as they spread their grip across the galactic stage. Today would be, at least hopefully, a milk run to just link up with some witches on behalf of The Empire. Tibera's unit was going to form the pathfinders for the large unit under Rackham's command. The veteran mercenary had been given a nod from Marlon Sularen as a recommendation on this mission. Very few mercenaries could say they'd been on multiple missions for Sularen without ending up on the wrong end of a blaster.

Missions like these though, they were some of the most nerve-wracking. Not because of the inherent danger, but because they were so quiet. It was sheerly due to the paranoia that they brought with them. You never quite knew what was going to come around the next corner, where the danger might come from. All you could do is sit and wait for the next order, it was trying on the nerves for certain.

"Saber team to Command, we're approaching DZ-05. So far so good, over..." Tibera's words were stern and to the point, doing the best they could to hide their anxiety about this whole mission. In truth, the idea of making contact with a bunch of witches with potential anti-imperial sentiments was terrifying.

Beating force sensitives was always a numbers game. One that meant the loss of many lives, and you never quite knew when when your number would come up. Sure, the Empire would claim a victory, but that was little solace to the dead who were thrown into the breach to stop them. With any luck these witches would just comply, knowing they were this outnumbered. Then again, most witches didn't like being told to bend the knee to tyrants...
