HISTORY

Early Years

Shan was an only child, born on Naboo, to the noble family Amadeus. He had an enviable upbringing and mingled with wealth and royalty. He was a force sensitive child and promptly underwent training to become a Jedi. As well as being gifted with the force, he was a keen scholar with a passion for history. Shan was quiet and reserved, his closest companion was a fellow student named Sinclair Covet. The two were lovers while Covet slowly became seduced by the dark side of the force.
Covet became unstable and obsessed with uncovering censored Sith heritage. The two of them joined forces and began to romanticise a long-dead Sith cult - guided by the ghost of a forgotten Sith Lord. Covet’s fall to the dark was fueled by his growing instability and belief that the Jedi Order were concealing the ‘truth’ of the universe. Sinclair was to carry out numerous rituals to appease his hidden Master, many of which made little sense and were skewed by mistranslation and the many centuries that

had passed. Covet took on the title of Darth Lorn and made Amadeus his apprentice and counterpart. Lorn’s Sith guide helped to develop his natural talent for thought manipulation, allowing him to recruit a small band of fanatic cultists to the new cause.

The Cult of Rapture
Now the leaders of a revived Sith Cult, Lorn and Amadeus (now Darth Acrux) hid at the far reaches of the galaxy. They and their cultists dedicated much of their efforts to retrieving artifacts relating to the cult’s predecessors. Darth Lorn kept his goals hidden and strung his followers along with various forms of mind control and false hope. Eventually, Lorn revealed that he was being instructed to complete the original cult’s work to breach the barriers between the known universe and a foretold other realm. Acrux doubted the legitimacy of the plan, but followed regardless. Over the years, it became clear that the cult’s goal was impossible. Many scientists were radicalised and executed for their failure to achieve Darth Lorn’s desires. Meanwhile, the cultists worked to ‘purify’ the known universe in preparation for the breach - which they believed would be an apocalyptic event. Lorn’s cult lacked the backing of the galaxy’s major factions and outright excluded them as inferior. They would occasionally work in conjunction with the Empire, but were deemed fanatic and blasphemous to other darkside users. Over time, the cult’s practises grew more and more convoluted. They sought to hoard kyber crystals and miscellaneous artifacts that they believed held the key to the next realm.

To the rest of the galaxy, the cult went mostly unnoticed. They worked secretly and exploited vulnerable, lesser developed civilisations for their cause. As Darth Acrux carried out his various duties, Darth Lorn’s influence over him grew weaker. It slowly became apparent that his mind had been manipulated and he was now so far down the darkside path that he felt trapped and unable to escape. He was motivated by the hope of the new realm, where he theorised he may be reborn and able to start over. Darth Acrux was plagued by guilt and held resentment for the Jedi Order abandoning him. In actuality, the Order could not find the pair and were often held back from their investigations by other matters. Having left the Order as a teenager, much of his angst was unresolved and attributed to feeling limited by the doctrines of the Jedi Code.

After Rapture
Darth Lorn was a strong manipulator, but a less adept warrior. He became weaker and weaker as time went on. He considered himself the brains of the religion and Acrux to be the muscle. He worked in the shadows, communing with the echoes of Sith ghosts and obsessing over ancient relics. This paved the way for corruption and instability amongst his followers. The Cult had amassed a sizable fortune in stolen relics and the promise of wealth had become stronger than the promise of rebirth. Lorn’s cultists were gamblers and crime lords, twisted by dark energies and greed itself.

Darth Lorn uncovered a plot in which his followers intended to murder him and went into hiding. He is believed to have preserved himself in stasis with a small collection of artifacts. In doing so, he abandoned Darth Acrux.
Acrux surrendered to the cultists and fled.

Exile
Blinded by shame and rage, Darth Acrux flew his starfighter into an asteroid field somewhere in the Needan system. He survived, crash landing on a mostly uninhabited jungle moon. Shan, reclaiming his former name, exiled himself and remained in isolation. Shan became unhinged and eccentric but managed to seek guidance in the force. He communed with other lost spirits from centuries past. Shan believed that the force itself had forgiven him. But, he remained in exile as a form of self inflicted punishment.

Shan Amadeus remained on the moon for twenty years before he was discovered by two Jedi explorers.

The Silver Jedi Concord
Amadeus was given refuge on Kashyyyk. He continues to live a reclusive life and struggles to consider himself a part of the Concord. He utilises both the Light and Dark elements of the force interchangably, much to the disapproval of other Jedi. Shan has taken on the role of an eccentric wizard. He is known to be an excellent chef, frequently offering meals and telling stories to travellers and Padawans who are out training. While he struggles to make allies within the Concord, he has many close Wookiee comrades.
