- Large hand-and-a-half force-imbued sword
- Force-Imbued - As with all Force-Imbued weapons, the Shard is preternaturally sharp and strong, capable of parrying lightsabers and possessing cutting ability far above a normal blade.
- A Light in the Darkness - Imbued with the force as it is, this weapon's light-side signature betrays that it is more than a normal blade. Also, it literally glows with a faint blue sheen.
- Edge-Alignment - Unlike the lightsabers, a force-imbued blade still requires much of swordsmanship that the Jedi have left behind. One of those techniques is called 'edge alignment'. This is the practice of ensuring that the edge of the blade is as perfectly perpendicular to the target of a cut as possible. If the edge alignment of a cut isn't good it results in sloppy, shallow cuts.
Seeking a weapon that could be used in any battlefield conditions, even against foes utilizing cortosis inlayed armor and arms during the Great War that darkened the Galactic Alliance years ago, Rhook found himself returning to old ways nearly forgotten. The Shard is the answer to those foes, utilized by it's wielder as a sidearm dictated by situation.
