Note: No pure-blood Shasoti remain. All Shasoti are part Sith at this point in time, however the amount of course varies from individual to individual.

Name: Shasoti
Designation: Sentient
Homeworld: Won Shasot
Language: Galactic Basic, Shasoti, Sith
Average Lifespan: 130 Standard Years
Estimated Population: Rare

Average height of adults: 1.83 meters
Average length of adults: N/A
Skin color: White, Pale-Fair, Light shades of grey, rarely tinges of blue or red (never mixed)
Hair color: All shades from white to black
Distinctions: Similar to baseline humans, typically seen as a beautiful species, occasionally sport pointed ears.

Breathes: Type I
Strengths:
I Can See You: Due to the relative lowlight of the Shasoti home world, the Shasoti have developed a degree of night vision. In a very dimly lit room, the Shasoti would have no trouble seeing, appearing as if to be a fully lit room to them.

Speed is Life: The species are unnaturally fast. In comparison to a human, they can move at roughly 1.33x the average human. This spans from running to their reflexes. As a result of this, their metabolism is slightly quicker as well.

Weaknesses:
The Light! It Burns!: Unfortunately, developing a natural night vision means developing an aversion to bright light. Normally lit rooms would cause great discomfort to Shasoti whereas direct sunlight would cause serious pain and in prolonged instances blindness. In addition, their skin is extremely sensitive to the sun, easily burning and a higher susceptibility to skin cancer.

Ain’t No Weight Lifter: The Shasoti’s higher metabolism also makes the building of muscle more difficult. Most Shasoti are not very strong. Should they ever find themselves in a situation where speed will not assist them, they will be at a great disadvantage.

Races: None
Diet: Similar to that of normal Humans
Communication: Verbal

Culture: The Shasoti, in modern times, are split into four different sects. The Ashan, Haski, Kotsi, and Derriphani. Dating back several thousand millennia, the four tribes have been at war since they were discovered by the pure-blooded Sith. As such, the species’s culture was heavily influenced by that of the old pureblood Sith. While the introduction of castes didn’t quite take, it did leave an impression. Most Shasoti take on a similar role as that of their forefathers. Soldiers give birth to soldiers, weapons techs to weapons techs, etc.

Each sect also has a single monarch, whose title passes to their kin or appointed heir. In years past where the King/Queen died before appoint an heir and had two or more legitimate children, the children would duel until all others either surrendered or were killed.

Since the Shasoti have been in a state of constant war since the Sith discovered them, they have developed a sort of warrior culture. While not all are expected to fight, all are expected to be able to fight should the need arise. Shasoti are trained from the time they are children in the arts of war. They do not have a strict belief that dying in battle is honorable, unlike other warrior cultures.

Technology level: Hyperspace travel has been achieved. Few advancements have been made since.
General behavior: Cautious and wary. Typically skeptical and distrustful of outsiders. Within their own sects they are generally relaxed in their off times, but not too family centered, death being prominent. Among other sects, they are either downright hostile or extremely wary of each other.

History: The Shasoti achieved hyperspace travel shortly after the Great Hyperspace War. Isolated from the galaxy until this time, the people set out among the stars to see what the galaxy had in store for them. Most of the Shasoti vessels did not survive their virgin voyages. The few that did survive would drop out of hyperspace within Sith space. The superior Sith vessels, commanded by Sith Priests would open fire on the Shasoti vessels, destroying all but one. The Shasoti vessels would be boarded by the Massassi Warriors and all aboard killed. What was recovered from the Shasoti ship was co-ordinates to Won Shasot, the Shasoti home world.

Upon arrival, the Priests would unleash the Warriors on the weaker Shasoti, achieving a swift and terrible victory. The rewards to the Warriors were anything and everything they could get their hands on. Consolidating the power for themselves, the five Kissai, Asha, Hask, Kots, Derriphan, and Qorit would rule over the Shasoti for several decades, unwilling to return to their home planet and serve their king.

As greed would poison the five, they’d take their followers and split into the five sects, each named after their leader. Of course, war would soon breakout among the five sects. Short and bloody, the war ended with the deaths of the Qoritan. The other four sects, deciding that Qorit had grown too powerful, would ban together for but a moment, and slaughter him and his people in their sleep. This became known as the Great War. No war between all four sects has been waged since.

War was still a constant however, two waging war against each other as the other two sects fought each other. Such constant state of warfare prevented any major technological advancements, the construction of any more space worthy vessels, and kept the population, all intermingled with the dying Sith, relatively low, typically to 15,000 individuals in any sect.

The Netherworld event would be the catalyst to another Great War. A significant portion of all the Sects would disappear in an instant, one of whom was the leader of the Kotsi. Leaving behind his two heirs, a childhood feud exploded into a war, dividing the sect down the middle. While the Kotsi fought themselves, the other three sect launched into war with each other once more, each blaming the other for the disappearance of their people.

Notable Player-Characters: None

Intent: To create a Dark Elf like species for writers to explore with and to populate the planet Won Shasot.

So according to your note about the species, pure-blood Shasoti no longer exist, yet you are submitting the pureblood Shasoti for use.

This doesn't quite make sense to me. I understand that the current population is a cross between Shasoti and Sith (of which purebloods are also considered extinct). Why not submit what their species currently is? Why not include what the Sith species brought into the bloodlines? It's one thing to pay homage to the original Shasoti, but that gives the memberbase very little to work with and that's the whole point of submitting a species, yes?

Please give me your thoughts on this.

This submission is actually for Shasoti as they currently are. Few changes came along in terms of appearance and other physical traits simply due to the comparatively low amount of Sith to Shasoti. The main change came in the form of skin and hair color variations.

Regardless the modern day race is still referred to as Shasoti, simply based on their civilization still exists on Won Shasot.

Sorry for the confusion, I hope I cleared that up.
