Korriban - Valley Of The Kings
Had Dark Onyx been a man, he would have shown up by now.
John was tired of waiting in the dusty stands, tired of staring up at the rapidly darkening sky. Onyx would show his repugnant head soon, he was sure. Nonetheless, he waited, his confidence waning.
This duel really seemed illogical when he put any sustained thought into it, but he was confident that Onyx was foolish enough to accept. He hopefully wouldn't be prepared for the masses of explosives and mines littered across the sun-beaten valley, in place to prevent retreat. He certainly wouldn't be prepared for the manned bomber hiding behind an ancient pillar.
He really needed another lightsaber, come to think of it. Maybe one with a long handle. That would be useful. Maybe even one with two blades. That'd be even more useful. Now wasn't the time to be thinking about weapons, to be honest. He should've done that earlier. Meh. Onyx would fall soon enough. He'd get one later.
For now, he stood, staring up into the deep red sky as the sun disappeared, and the day dissolved into night.
