Shavara never specialized in combat as much as other Vo Ni did. But she did learn alchemy fairly well, along with biology. As a result instead of going for a more combat oriented choice in her robes, Shavara created a set of clothes and robes that were designed to protect her from other Vo Ni should she ever be required to fight them, either for practice or for practical purposes. However the main purpose was not initially to fight Vo Ni, but rather allow her to use the force the robes could contain to bolster her own powers. Functioning almost like a battery which only she could draw from, but anyone could give to.
The robes are a bit more fancy than a commoner and may draw attention unless she pulls the robe around her. Or uses another robe of more common variety to cover up the metal pieces on the clothes. Though this does help prove her place as a Vo Ni it also means wearing it can attract easy attention to who she may be.
It is important to note, the Robes themselves are in fact not done through dark side alchemy. But a form of it that does not have the same alignment. While it does involve the use of the force to alter a physical object in a certain way, this was not done in an aggressive way. It in fact also took Sha months to properly create the clothing.

- Force Redirection: The Robes are designed to be force resistant to all but its creator, Shavara. This grants her a rather unique advantage against other force users when in direct conflict with them. It allows her to stand up to resist the majority of direct force powers with relative ease in spite of inferior skill. As things like telekinesis, force lightning, and force drain, all become very weakened against her. Though in order to resist mental powers she has to pull the hood over her head, otherwise it leaves her more open to them. That which is used against her instead is in a way transformed into the cloth itself, which contains it until she uses it.
- Force use: She can pull from that which the cloth has contained, using it to enhance her own powers further (only in power, not in skill) which allows her to fight in much better grounds against other force sensitives. She also regularly fills it with the force so she can use it herself in the future.
- Shifting parts: The set of clothes are designed so that she is able to shift her body while still wearing it, or so that she can easily remove or change only parts of the clothing without too much difficulty. The lightweight nature of the clothing also adds to this malleability.

- Not wearing the hood means she doesn’t have as much resistance to mental powers.
