ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
- Heavily Armed: The Supa is a fairly heavily armed starship, sporting diverse weaponry that allows it to accomplish a variety of missions. Many of the weapons are also fairly long-ranged allowing the Supa to hit many small craft foes before they even have a chance to attack the Supa.
- Well Defended: The Supa has a fairly rugged hull that's augmented by a moderately strong shield that has an additional overcharge function, which allows the Supa to make attack runs with a little bit of extra protection against flak and point defense fire.
- Long-Range: The Supa has extended fuel tanks, bunks, and even a miniaturized refresher station, allowing the starfighter's crew of three to fly through multiple sectors of space to attack targets and then return home without having to stop or refuel.
- Low Maneuverability: The Supa is a bit more sluggish than the average starfighter, being fairly close in performance to the classic Y-wing and the original Supa Fighter.
- Low Speed: As with many older assault fighters like the classic Y-wing and B-wing, the Supa is a little bit slower than the average starfighter. While it's not unlikely to outrun the average starfighter, it is still plenty fast to hunt down small freighters and capital ships.
- Smaller Squadrons: Supas are fairly large craft due to their heavy weapons and long-range equipment, which means that fewer of them can be carried in most hangars compared to the average starfighter.
The Shen Supa is another CorelliSpace reimagining of a classic design: the Supa Fighter. CorelliSpace spent a not inconsiderable amount of time miniaturizing many of the components or replacing them with smaller modern alternatives to make the gainly fighter more compact, but also significantly more powerful. The Shen Supa's primary weaponry is now based on railgun technology, which not only is more powerful, but also much longer ranged. Combined with new warhead launchers, the Shen Supa is also called the "poor man's B-wing" because of its heavy weaponry, solid defenses, and unusually wide profile. While the Shen Supa does fulfill a similar heavy assault role and similarly excels at attacking small capital ships, the Shen Supa has also a significantly longer operational range and a larger crew. This has led to pirates who employ the craft to raids and attacks far from their home bases, making it hard for local planetary defense forces to predict their attacks or follow them back to base not only from logistical reasons, but political as well - such raids often transverse the boundaries of multiple governments and entities.
