- Sight Selection: Capable of switching between regular, thermal, ultraviolet and night vision, among many others, the N5 Optical Implant allows the owner to see in any variety of color palettes, or functions that they desire. Granting a great deal of customization via the N5's connected HoloNet application, with the owner's own unique profile linked to it.
- Digital Scanner: Utilizing technology from prior products on a much smaller scale, the N5 Optical Implant grants the owner the ability to scan electronic equipment, and digital networks for malware, or other malfunctions, enabling fast diagnosis of otherwise complex problems, that would possibly require taking apart expensive equipment, or paying a specialist.
- Medical Scanner: Not limiting itself to the digital realm, the N5 Optical Implant is also able to diagnose biological issues as well. Lifting this technology from Nakaioma Medical's LifeScan Pro, although not as sophisticated as its specialized counterpart, it is still capable of quickly diagnosing a number of basic medical issues, and injuries.
- 20/20 Vision: Glasses, contact lenses, and other outdated optical products are banished by the N5, which grants the owner immediate 20/20 eyesight, healing any eye, and removing any faults that existed prior to installation.
- Increased Visibility: Extending the distance which the owner's eye can see, the N5 Implant allows its owner to view objects in great detail from up to ten miles away. Of course this relies on there not being any obstructions along the way.
- Digital Integration: Along with being a scanner, the N5 can also connect to various networks, and systems via user input on the HoloNet app, allowing law enforcement officers to bring up facial recognition databases for direct comparisons, or your average Joe to bring up brand names, reviews, and technical details when window shopping.
- Expensive: Like most Fukashi-brand cybernetics, the N5 Optical Implant is quite costly, and will certainly set one back a pretty credit or two, and this is just for a single eye improvement, receiving two implants, one for each eye, would cost a notable deal more.
- Surgery: Requiring a lengthy, and complex surgery for those who have not had optical cybernetic work done before, which the customer also must pay out of their own pocket for, unless they have a Nakaioma Medical Premium Membership, in which case the cost is covered. The process of receiving the implant(s), is equally expensive, and can only (officially) be done in specialized Fukashi facilities, by trained professionals. Although like many Fukashi cybernetics, an underworld market has formed around its illegal installation.
The successor of the popular N4 Optical Implant, the Shisen N5 Optical Implant was released to great fanfare in 863ABY. Associated with celebrities, corporate executives, and the paramilitary types, it has regardless acquired a significant audience in more everyday citizens, becoming a somewhat cost-effective solution to those in the business of fixing things, medical professionals, and a sort of status symbol among regular people. Unlike many other optical implants, or replacements, the N5 maintains a discrete profile, and one wouldn't notice that a compatriot had it unless they were told, or had some form of scanner of their own. This has made it significantly safer to have for those in more dangerous, crime-ridden parts of the galaxy, where certain degenerate types may seek to get their hands on the expensive products.
