- Hidden Weapon: The EAL - 1 is capable of shocking others when active. Be it through punch or grip, contact with the conductive areas of the glove will obviously shock someone.
- Kung Fu?: With an outer layer of Armorweave it allows the wear to parry lightsabers to some extent. Full contact blows will still cut through the armorweave and anything underneath. In addition the gauntlets can absorb the energy of things such as blast bolts, but not the kinetic energy.
- Oven Mitts: The gauntlets are also resistant to fire and acid, but only on the outer area which is covered in armorweave.
- Cumbersome: Just like other pieces of metallic armor, these can restrict movement, specifically in rotation of the rest and the ability to grip items.
- Critical Hit!: Due to the construction of the gauntlet, there are multiple weak point that can be shot or cut through by a lightsaber. These would be areas devoid of Armorweave, the conductors. In the image that would be the shiny metal parts, excluding the forearm due to the fact that armorweave exists below the metal there. This leaves the entire hand vulnerable to destruction.
- Glass Cannon: As stated above, the gauntlets can only absorb glancing blows from lightsabers and only the energy of a blast bolt, not the kinetic impact.
Dax, having always been a tinkerer sought to create some form of armor that also could function as a weapon for the Judges of the Coalition. The man was successful to a small degree. His originally intent was to create an electromagnetic field that could interrupt or deflect a lightsabers own binding magnetic field. On his first test however, he instead would up shocking himself into unconsciousness. Deciding that would serve his function, he pinned on Armorweave and called it a day. He only made a few as these were only prototypes, of which he gave one to Bryce Bantam.
