Private Should I Stay Or Should I Go

It was official.

In a few minutes he would be flying out of this hangar, leaving his life of an Imperial Knight behind. Something about fighting alongside them just didn't feel right. He knew that he should have probably spent more time and meditation on it, but it was too late. The message to Ryv and Auteme was already sent. There was no going back now. His mini-mental breakdown was another reason. All of his emotions have been so mixed up lately, that it is hard for him even to find his place.

That is what made this decision so hard to make.

Maybe leaving the Imperials would help him figure out what he was feeling. Nerf, maybe it wouldn't. His head fell back into his hands, resting there. A heavy sigh exhaled from his mouth. Nothing he seemed to be doing was right. But with the message already sent, there wasn't anyway he could rejoin the Imperial Knights. He made his own bed, yet he wasn't sure if it was he one for death.

An unexplained leave from them wouldn't be the greatest. They would probably come looking for him, maybe even hunt him down. What if they found out he was just giving up? Now it didn't feel like he was giving up, but deep down he though that this might be the easy out. Pulling back out the datapad he fired it up, ready to send his final message.

Short and to the point, the message said everything and nothing at the same time. It will have to do.

He cautiously pressed the send button, knowing that something bad might come from it. But this was his life now. You can't just half-ass decisions anymore. It was all of nothing.

Letting out a deep breath he leaned back in the seat of his X-Wing. Looking out of the viewport he was able to see a barren hangar, occupied by only a few other small starfighters. He should probably take off here soon before anyone would question him on his message. But for now, he just rested his head and his mind. What a long week this has been.

Hans sat on his bed, scrolling through his datapad. The Fel Redoubt was quiet today. Okkeus' message notification appeared on his screen as nothing more than the first line. Yet that was enough to let Hans know there was something wrong.

The message was not so surprising. Hans knew about Okkeus' conflicted loyalties. Hans had his own when he first joined the Order, before he had fully given himself to the Knights. The New Imperial Order was not afraid to reward those who served with distinction. When Hans, Jin, and Okkeus were knighted together, he knew they all deserved it for some reason or another. But now it seemed that Okkeus had forgotten the other pillar of the New Empire. Exemplary service was one thing, but the true heart of the Empire was brotherhood...

Hans paced quickly through the halls, hoping Okkeus had not yet left. As he entered the hangar, he instantly caught site of the X-Wing, which stuck out among the TIE fighters like a sore thumb. Hans broke into a jog as he crossed the last stretch of hangar before Okkeus' ship.

"Okkeus!" He yelled. He was going to demand answers...
