- It has a personal shield generator that also covers the user. The integrity of the shield is displayed on a HUD inside the armor and can turned on and off from there as well.
- In sheer firepower, it is a force to be reckoned with. Each blast can burn through even heavily armored units and shred through energy shields like nothing, not mentioning the fact that it fires several more in extremely quick succession. And if you think this will let up quick, you are dead wrong. Its extremely large ammo capacity will make sure you are either suppressed or dead.
- As it is shoulder-mounted, it is keeps the hands free to hold more weapons.
- Though it is made of Dallorian Alloy, the sheer firepower still generates vast amounts of heat. Firing for extended periods of time could lead to overheating.
- The personal energy shield can explode if depleted and not willingly turned off.
- Putting this on your shoulder is not a smart idea given its size and weight. However, Deryn's strength and Power-armor don't feel the weight at all.
- Due to it being shoulder-mounted, it limits your field of view on one side.
- As it is shoulder-mounted, it cannot fire too far on the opposite side. However, it can fire at things behind Deryn.
- As it relies primarily on a targeting system judged by Deryn's optic nerves, it can only fire at things within personal range. That target must have at least been seen by Deryn to be locked on to. Deryn does not need to be constantly looking at them to fire on them with this.
Deryn's adventure on adding to his "Big Gun" collection continues. The Shoulder-Mounted Rotary Cannon leaves little standing in its way, ripping through hundreds of people. Not even a Jedi could deflect all of them raining down upon them. Of course, perhaps it would have been more effective to have just made another droid that he could control. That wouldn't have granted him the points in style that this would, of course.
