Elysium Eternal

Elysium Empire Narrative

Galus, a planet of mountains, forests, and a good share of deserts in the mix. The Elysium Empire claimed the territory just weeks after Rex Valhoun became King of The Empire, and already he has found uses for the planet. First, of course, mining operations were started as private companies were bought out. But secondly, The new King found that the desert landscapes were the perfect place for weapons testing.

So today The King organized a showing of The Empire's newest, strongest, and best weapons. He has planned to include a bombardment from HMS Shi-Cho, the flagship of the freshly promoted
Grand Admiral Burtch, as well as several demonstrations from each major company backing The Empire. Rex has also decided to allow prototypes to be demonstrated as long as it is safe.

The King invited diplomats and leaders from several major factions to come along and view the demonstration, as well as to give them a chance to speak with him and the company leaders of The Empire.

Objective One, Watch
The King is going to be demonstrating weapons every few minutes. Sit back and enjoy the show ladies and gentlemen.
Objective Two, Test
Company Owners within The Empire have been given an opportunity to test their own weapons themselves, including prototypes.
(Cough Dr. Veinstein Dr. Veinstein )
Objective Three, Talk
Many of The Empire's most important individuals are gathered, from The King, to the businessmen. Furthermore, foreign representatives and leaders have been invited.

Rex Valhoun smiled as the hot sun beat down on his forehead. Through his sunglasses he scanned the crowd that had gathered to observe the weapons test. The smile wasn't unnatural, he was looking forward to the weapons testing. Of course he had seen combat before, he'd even been hit by an explosion but miraculously survived with minimal injuries. But he had never seen weapons being tested in an event where he could comfortably watch the process without fearing for his life and diving for cover.

Gathered in front of him were The Empire's most important people. Some politicians, mostly senate members but a few from the council, many businessmen from the top weapons manufacturers, some military officials, and various other prominent members of The Empire, as well as some foreigners.

"Alright ladies and gentlemen, I say we get this party started. 300 Kilometers above our heads, Grand Admiral Burtch is awaiting my signals in The Makashi Light Cruiser, HMS Shi Cho. When I give the signal, he will dispatch transports carrying some of the vehicles you'll see today. Later, he will dispatch fighters and bombers to give a demonstration, and finally he will order a concentrated bombardment for our finale. Between exercises, feel free to talk to me or those around you."

Rex then turned on his comms device, "Alright Grand Admiral, go ahead and send one of those transports. Your choice of which one."

Viken Dobson

Head Engineer of Dar'manda Industries
Objective: 2

Viken hated being here. Unlike the rest of the Dobsons, he hated being in the spotlight. He hated being amongst large groups of people. What drew him to MandalArms, outside of Dorthea Dobson Dorthea Dobson 's insistance, was knowing that he'd get to spend a lot of time alone or with a small team working on weapons and ships that OTHER PEOPLE like his boss would pitch and sell to others. Yet here he was....

Loreena was too busy trying to get back what was destroyed by the Strategic Terminators of Arms, Factories and Facilities. Her recent absense was in no doubt to blame for the tabloids in spreading rumours that she was pregnant. But anyone close to the Royal Family knew better. There was no way that that would happen.

And with Dorthea busy with the Damascus Station, Viken was the only one trusted to be here.

He stood there listening to Rex Valhoun Rex Valhoun with his arms folded across his chest. There was comfort in that stance for him. That was the only thing that he liked. His expression showed that he would rather be elsewhere, but he had no choice. Let the King look after most. Viken will just look after the stragglers that would happen by his booth.

I hate her. I hate her so much. Why can't I shove her out of an airlock?

He rubbed his brow hard in exasperation. Grand Admiral Burtch's flag captain, Treyfa, was giddy, having the time of her life. Her previous career path in the navy until recently had always been that of a weapons officer. And she was good at it. Very good. Passionate about it.

While she was valuable and amazing at her job, Burtch found her to be excruciatingly irritating to be around. He couldn't explain it. She was a pantoran, so maybe that had something to do with it, but he just didn't like her. He tolerated her for how valuable she was, but today she was making it harder than ever. Her mood was giddy and her energy was ecstatic.

Today, she got to show off.

Thankfully, a ping from his chair comm went off and a message came in from the newly crowned King Rex Valhoun Rex Valhoun . It was time to begin. Burtch cleared his throat to interrupt Treyfa's incessant delightful jabbering "Alright, flight control. Let's go for intrigue right off the bat. Transmit to the Longsword landing vessel, HMS Calico, that they are to cloak and proceed to the testing area. We might as well start with the tanks and see what the spectators think of them. They will de-cloak upon arrival and surprise the audience before landing. They will then drop their ramps and roll out the sample assortment of our tanks in their hold and begin the demonstration at King Rex's command."

Burtch then stood up as his subordinates began to relay his orders, and he strode to the main viewport. His eyes fell on a light cruiser that looked almost identical to his own. It started to move out of formation before veering off to head for the surface. It then shimmered, and cloaked itself out of sight.

He admired it for the ingenuity that went into it. The Longsword design had been very closely inspired by the Makashi Class Light Cruiser in the space frame category. But other than that, it may as well be an entirely different ship under the hull. A stealth landing vessel, it was a rarity in the Elysium fleet, but a more than welcome addition. It would surely be an expression of intelligent design with a special aura for mystery to the spectators below…

"Alright, ladies and gentlemen, if you'll turn your attention to the sky, you'll see....nothing." Rex grinned. He knew what Burtch was doing, though it had taken him by surprise for a moment. "That is because Grand Admiral Burtch knows what he is doing. Please, don't avert your eyes."

Then it happened, in the blink of an eye a dot appeared, and slowly grew as the cloaking shields of the new Longsword class Landing Vessel were deactivated. The ship swiftly swooped down, kicking up dirt about fifty yards to the side of the audience as it lowered its' ramps. Then one by one a variety of The Empire's older tanks, and a handful of newer ones too, rolled out. As the tanks began forming a line, Rex turned back to the audience.

"Alrighty. As you can see, The Empire has a strong variety of tanks to lead the charge against any foes in our way. Of course, one of our heaviest is The
ET-1, a heavy tank with manually controlled Gatling Lasers, and several turbolaser and ultralight turbolasers. That tank, in case you couldn't tell, is the closest to us." He pointed at the large armored vehicle, and in response the side gunner gave a wide smile and waved behind his Big Kat Gatling Laser.

"Also in the formation today, bringing three turbolasers and one-hundred missiles, a purchase from The Court of Blades. This is the
Trailfire Assault Tank."

"Now, I think The Court of Blades have their own demonstrations planned, so I don't want to show off too many of their creations, however the majority of our armored vehicles are indeed provided by The Court of Blades, and so I can't help but show off one more of their creations: The Holotah Medium Guerilla Repulserlift. This is a fast, well armed hover tank with a high speed and a 360 degree turret, great for patrols."

"I promise, we'll shoot these guns in a minute, but for now, if you'd like to go and take a look, please do so!"

Arthakk

Friendly Neighbourhood Wookiee
A lot of people are joining The Elysium Empire event, as they were planning to show The Empire's newest, strongest, and best weapons. As they invited all kinds of people with different occupation from politicians to military official. Crowd are forming as they wait for the show to begin, and within that crowds lies a tall and big furry creature standing by him lonesome, avoided by everyone near him. Eyes from the surrounding were drawn and looks were given to the big furry creature, be it due to curiosity, anxiety, or even fear. One of people who were glancing then said within ear shot, "What is a Wookiee doing here?", as it was in fact Arthakk who was getting glances and people talking about him due to his Wookiee nature.

"Rrruuuaagg......Hrrruuuuggghh....." Arthakk growled as he scratches his head confused at the everyone demeanor as if they never seen a wookiee, as his RA-7 protocol droid replied to his Master, "Master Arthakk it may be because they have seen a Wookiee is why they are acting that way". Arthakk thought to himself if people would ever be comfortable with a Wookiee being near them, but that didn't bother him much as he is used to being treated that way. "Auuuggggghhh.....Hrrruuuuggghhhh?" Arthakk growled as he continued to speak with his droid that is attached to his shoulder plates due to only being a head and not having his other body parts. The droid then replied, "Master Arthakk, I do not think you wearing a huge coat or costume will help hide the fact that you are a Wookiee". Arthakk then sigh as he growled agreeing with the droid, as it was just wishful thinking, he then tried to find some grub as there should be some. Moments later the show was about to begin, with Rex Valhoun Rex Valhoun gave a short greeting towards the guest, as Arthakk watched and listened. Arthakk would enjoy seeing new weaponries, as he find this kind of testing quite fun to be apart of.

Arthakk was invited to watched after he had finished a contract with the Elysium Empire. He had already planned to stay at the planet after he was done talking with the clientele to have a look around, but then he was asked to come and join the event. The planet had similarities with his own homeworld, full of mountains, forests, and dessert surrounding the planet. So for now Arthakk wasn't here only to have a look at the show but maybe try to talk to some people as he enjoy to socialize even though most won't talk to him, and maybe even get contract offer whilst he is here.

Veinstein stood out in the middle of the field out in front of the gathered audience, ordering around workers and droids setting up equipment and weapons. All around him were pieces of equipment and weaponry, ranging from small blasters to large vehicles, he had brought a lot of stuff to this weapon demonstration. Workers and engineers he had brought along scattered around, moving and setting up equipment furiously. Of course, Veinstein was here to test his new equipment and weaponry, and see how well these new prototypes preformed. Needless to say, he was excited to try out his newest designs. Plus, Veinstein liked to give a good show, and the audience would get what they came for.

"Get those weapons ready! Prep those vehicles! Move! Move! You! Get that gun ready!" Veinstein ordered, pointing at one of his engineers. The engineer saluted and grabbed his tools and got to work on one of the large Artillery guns Veinstein had just started developing. Multiple other engineers worked on the other weapons and vehicles. Today was going to be a show...

"Alright, ladies and gentlemen, if you'll turn your attention to the sky, you'll see....nothing."

Veinstein turned and looked up. He saw the ship come down, with it's tank cargo. Impressive, it seemed to be a fine tank. Despite that it was made by his competition, even Veinstein could respect the craftsmanship in the art of creating weaponry. And these tanks they were showing were truly works of art. Veinstein could respect a dedication to the craft in his competitors.

Veinstein turned to one of his engineers working on one of his various pieces of equipment. "Is our first display nearly ready?" Veinstein asked.

"Yes sir, just a few more moments." The engineer responded.

Good... Soon, he could finally test this stuff out.

Ding Ding Ding.

The clanging of the glass would sound as he tried to get some peoples attention, just a bit after their new King had shown off the Longsword project. It was a labor of love and a considerable undertaking, but it was glorious to behold. It quickly disembarking new tanks, new walkers, things that may not ever been imagined even from himself. Callum Saville would have loved to have seen this unfold completely, some being his ideas with others being the finishing touches. The new Prince from the Court of Blades was going to show up eventually but as of right now, he had to stall and sadly ruin a nice surprise.

"Gentlemen, Ladies, Droids and all alike, I am unfortunate to inform the demonstration down below may take a few seconds from the Court of Blades. Yes, I know, we want to get straight to the fighting. However at this time, I like to show off the defenses on our dear Longsword Landing Stealth Cruiser as it has capabilities well beyond what anyone imagines."

Grabbing a remote, he flicked the display as it showed a massive monstrosity known as the M.R.S.W. MK. II with the large proton beam cannon pointed directly at the now uncloaked landing cruiser. Holding a communicator in the other at his palm, he spoke into it to let the team down below hear him.

"Now in case people are putting two and two together. The barrel is half the size of our dear carrier, which means it should be obliterated the moment it open fires. Team Pit, you may fire when ready."

Putting it down, there was a whine from afar and a flash of green light as an orbital beam cannon just went off from the M.R.S.W. MK. II and impacted directly into the Longsword, only for the beam of light to be reflected and smash into a nearby cliffside, exploding violently with a lot of force. Giving a small smirk, he spoke into the communicator as the Longsword was completely intact with very minimal damage such as a scorch mark.

"Good shot Team Pit, stand down. As you can see, it is almost completely unharmed and that is due to this."

Putting away the communicator, he pulled out a deck of cards effortlessly and took out a single card, an Elysium King on the card to promote the event as it reflected in the light a bit of yellowish gold. Phkalt Metal etchings.

"Phkalt Metal, one of the strongest metals found in the Galaxy. Able to reflect turbolasers with almost minimal damage, can be magnetically connected to create a shimmering effect to cloak into their environment. A mixture of Phrik and Nykkalt! The etchings of this card along with symbol, number and face on this card being made of the substance. However it comes at a price, each card I hold, weighs five pounds or two and a quarter kilograms to those living elsewhere. The whole deck of fifty-two cards, would make the average person encumbered at two hundred and sixty pounds."

"Due to the occasion, we will hand out a single card per person who wishes one and a challenge. Five decks lay on a nearby table to the left side, if you can prove your strength by picking up the deck, you are allowed to keep it. Regardless, thank you for your time, the demonstration should be going on soon."

Giving a small bow, he would replace the card in the deck and move off from the stage, going towards a computer console to ensure the test would go correctly and monitor a few communications.

"Well, it's good that they weigh so much Mr. Hafey, because the final demonstration would blow average cards off the table." He turned more toward the crowd, "Of course, we can't skip to desert when we've just seen the appetizer, now can we?"

He activated his comms device, "Alright Burtch, well done. Now, let's show off our droids. Escort the drop ship with some Saberdroid fighters."

Then back to the crowd, "Alright ladies and gentlemen. I'll spoil the next one. The Empire recognizes that all life, is precious. Therefore we have several droids in production from a variety of manufacturers, but mostly The Court of Blades, and Katitik Hive Productions. In a moment you will see fighters that are completely automated, perform a fly by, and then the dropship will land some of our droids. Please, enjoy."

Rex took a sip of water, straight from a cooler, then looked to the sky, awaiting the demonstration.

Viken Dobson

Head Engineer of Dar'manda Industries
Objective: 2

Still with his arms crossed, Viken watched the presentations. Outwardly, the man still looked like he wanted to be anywhere but there. Inwardly he was quite impressed with what the other companies were showing. He couldn't step away from his booth, but at least he could watch from a distance.

That is until a couple of people walked by his booth.

Viken uncrossed his arms and cleared his throat a little. "This is the booth for Mandal-Elysium Arms, formerly MandalArms. We've got a lot of blasters, pistols and slugthrowers and a wide variety of ship designs that are made to order." He activated the holoprojector on his table and ran the program that displayed the catalogue of items, as well as short holovids shoecasing the attributes of each. "Our anti-aircraft weaponry are second to none. Our designers and engineers are among the best. If you can dream it, we can make it happen."

He wasn't a salesman or much of a people person. Thank the....whatever Gods were out there...for holographic displays that can do the talking for him.

The energy in the bridge of HMS Shii-Cho was intense, as Treyfa was just sitting there, at the weapons control station… waiting. Everyone knew how ecstatic she was to show off the insanely accurate weapons systems of the Makashi class light cruisers and, while she didn't appear to be moving, everyone could feel her vibrating with anticipation in her chair. Burtch subconsciously rubbed his temples in annoyance…

The comm station chimed again and the bridge talker, Commander Silverstrike, took the call on his headset. When he was finished listening, he turned to Burtch and said, " Rex Valhoun Rex Valhoun wants the Saberdroids next, sir!"

"Very good" Burtch stopped rubbing his temples and refocused his mind. He noted that Treyfa slumped a little in her seat as she must've been hoping that the next call would be for the Makashi bombardment. Burtch couldn't help but smile a little at her suffering, "we might as well give a proper demonstration then. Send in one of our Lancer-2 frigates and two Val Khaar Class Corvettes along with a full squadron of Saberdroids and another squadron of the Variable Elysium Starfighters.

"The ships I just mentioned will head down to within view of the weapons expo but at a safe distance. They will then break into two groups and square off in a mock battle. All ships will lower their weapons settings to non-lethal power levels. One side will consist of the Lancer-2 frigate and the squadron of Variable Elysium Starfighters. The other side will sport the two Val Khaar Corvettes and the squadron of Saberdroid Starfighters. The fighters will provide protection for the capital ships, while the capital ships provide gunship fire-support for the fighters. The goal is to show the audience how effective our overlapping cross-unit coverage software is in a screening battle and how efficient our droid brains are."

The orders were relayed with imperial efficiency by Burtch's staff as he watched his ships move into position from his viewport.

Chomp, chomp, chomp.

Martin tossed the small wafery disks into his mouth, what could only be described as 'chips'. His head was covered with the hood of his robe, offering some protection from the sun. He tried to find as much fun in it as possible, although that was a little hard. He had to admit though, Phkalt Metal did seem pretty impressive. He reached into the bag again, tossing another chip into his mouth.

"Pretty interesting, isn't it?" A voice next to him said.

Turning towards it, Martin was greeted with a rather robust if not chubby military official. "You could say that."

"Yeah, you could. You could say it twice!" He said in a bit of an over joyous voice. he was obviously excited to be here.

Martin hummed in response, looking towards where Rex Valhoun Rex Valhoun was, he gave a wave to the heir. "Good show." He whispered.

"You know him?" The official asked, surprised.

Martin grimaced. "A little, we've met before."

"You're a nobleman? An officer?"

Martin shook his head. "Not quite."

The man seemed to be getting a little agitated. "Then who are you?" He asked, a bit too forcefully.

Martin sighed, heavy and deep. Raising a hand, he waved it in front of the man's face, the middle and index fingers slightly more aloof than the others. "I'm a random stranger. Do you hear that? Someone calling you."

The man blinked rapidly for a few moments, confused, dazed. "Right, stranger," he rubbed his eyes, "I should go find whoever's calling." He offered Martin a smile as he sauntered off.

Martin himself smiled. "Atta boy."

Turning back towards Rex, something caught Martin's eye. Blinking rapidly, like he'd succumb to a mind trick himself, Martin was utterly baffled by what he was seeing. A Wookie. He'd met them before, he liked Wookies, but never in a million cycles did he think he'd see a Wookie here. A slight smile happened upon Martin's face. He could speak a little Wookie. Not like it mattered, he'd just noticed the droid. It could probably translate. Martin nodded, affirming his new mission. Become friends with a Wookie.

Moving through the crowd with relative ease, Martin soon found himself getting ever closer to his target. This could either go horribly good or horribly bad, it was a gamble. Martin had gambled before, he wasn't any good at it, but he could gamble. Soon, he was almost right next to the Wookie.

He cleared his throat, preparing himself for Wookie speak. "Argghhh... Rrugghhhhh?" He asked him. Martin himself thought they were having relatively good weather.

As the potential customers and browsers talked among themselves at his booth, Viken folded his arms across his chest again. He kept half of his attention on them and the other half on the skies. Grand Shepherd Burtch Grand Shepherd Burtch and Haon Hafey Haon Hafey were putting on a good show. He couldn't quite tell if Rex Valhoun Rex Valhoun was pleased with it all, but the man was far away from him anyways. It was hard to see expressions on people's faces from a distance.

"Don't touch that." he glared at a young boy that was poking his fingers at the holoprojector, making gaps in the holodisplay. Right away the boy's fist closed and went behind his back, leaving Viken to continue to stare at him for a moment more before turning his attention back to the main event.

Did he ever remember what it was like to be a kid? Not really. It certainly wasn't fun and games. Not in Dobson household. Every day was a competition amongst the other members of the family. One could only guess at how troublesome family holiday meals were.

Thank the whatever gods out there that he was away from all of that too. He certainly owed Dorthea Dobson Dorthea Dobson a favour for getting him out of Arken Dobson Arken Dobson 's clutches.

Ah, cafe…

Dorthea paid for her two cups of coffee at the stand and began walking around the crowd. Ships were flying through the air, guns were firing at cruisers, walkers were strutting around, and Dr. Veinstein Dr. Veinstein seemed to be up to something with his own exposition. She wondered what that crazy coot was up to…

She was actually supposed to be at Damascus Station, sorting out logistics and infrastructure, but she had taken a leave to enjoy the spectacle of imperial weapons. She still wasn’t overly fond of crowds or social interaction, but she had it covered. Carrying two drinks instead of one was a great way to excuse herself from people that wanted to talk. With a drink in each hand, all she had to say was, “sorry, my friend is waiting”, then smile, and leave.

Hopefully, no one would annoy her while she was walking about. She had considered going and talking to her brother Viken Dobson Viken Dobson over at the Mandal-Elysium Arms booth, but he hated social interaction more than she did. She respected that about him…

Overhead, the distinctive roars of droid Starfighter engines and light capital ships started screaming in for a demonstration, no doubt put together by Grand Shepherd Burtch Grand Shepherd Burtch . She looked up to watch the mock-battle take place.

Rex gave a nod at Martin Dux , acknowledging his presence. Then the young king looked to the sky, observing the mock battle above. It was fierce and difficult to believe that it was staged. Of course the saberdroids were winning the dogfights, but the Lancer-2 frigates were picking the saberdroids off with ease due to their anti-fighter weaponry. However the Val Kharr Corvettes were dominating the lancers with their turbolaser batteries. Slowly, the battle died down. Soon Burtch would order the dropships to land some droids, which Rex knew included Elysium Enforcer Droids, and two of the rare Elysium Bryn-Killers, freshly recalled from the scar worlds.

In the meantime, Rex made his way to Viken Dobson Viken Dobson . He didn't know the man as well as he would like, so he hoped to get a chance to speak with him. He was important to The Empire, designing several of the most important components to The Imperial Army and Navy.

Arthakk was sipping on his drink whilst standing quite far away from the crowds, so they will feel comfortable and won't eyeball the Wookiee. He had some food that was given to the guest, as hen he lined up for every food or drink he went too, everyone in front of him let him go first out fear and not wanting to stay near a Wookiee for too long.

As Arthakk was finishing his drink, he overheard from the crowds that there a booths showcasing the newest tech and weaponries. Arthakk then went over to the people who were talking about the booth to ask where it is, as when the two guest was busy talking suddenly a big and tall shadow casting over them. The two guest was confused why it went a bit dark for a moment, before they finally realize a Wookiee was next to them. A look of shocked and confusion can be seen from them, as one of the guest in front of Arthakk jumped a bit causing his drink to spill over.

Then one of the guest ask with a stutter to Arthakk, "Isss tthhhrreeee... someeethhhingg wee caan hhhelp yyyou wiiitthhh?". Arthakk then slowly and quietly growled so the two guest doesn't get more scared and possibly passed out, "Ggggtrrrrhh.....Arrrggggghhhh....", as his translator droid then translated, "Greetings, Master Arthakk wishes to inquire where he could find this booth you both were speaking off, as he would like to visit it". The two guest looked at the droid which was only a head stuck on the Wookiee right shoulder plate, their gaze kept switching from the Wookiee to the droid's head. One of the guest cleared his throat before composing him self, as he then said with a bit of shaking still can be heard from his voice, "If you're looking for the booth, it's not far from here, it's called the Mandal-Elysium Arms", the guest the gave direction to Arthakk to the booth.

"Rrrggghhhh......Argggggghhh", Arthakk growled and nodded at the two, as the droid then translated, "Master Arthakk said he is thankful for you help and he apologize if he had startled the both you". Arthakk then waved them good bye and headed to the booth, as when he walked a way one of the guest legs he was speaking too gave out, as his friend help him stand up. Arthakk hoped he can find anything useful to him in the booth, one that can help him more efficient in his work. The booth wasn't to far away so it won't take long before he reach it.

"Uuuugghh!"

Captain Treyfa groaned audibly, and impulsively, as soon as the call came in to send in the enforcer droids and the Bryn killers. She was obviously growing impatient in waiting for the call to fire the guns for the expo, and had lost a bit of self discipline in the moment. A couple snickers erupted throughout the bridge as her face turned a much deeper shade of Pantoran blue, but Burtch quickly cleared his throat to quell the laughter. As much as he shared in the enjoyment of Treyfa's torchure, he held himself to a standard befitting of a Grand Admiral. Discipline would be maintained, especially when an audience was watching.

He cleared his throat again to speak, "Alright, I also thought Rex was gonna ask for something else, but that's ok. Send in LAAT-2's number three and four from our hanger bay, as those ones are loaded with the droids Rex requested. Just have them walk amongst the crowds so people can get a close look at them. The droids are not permitted to interact with people directly, however, even if attacked." Burtch had noted that someone in the crowd with little-to-no sense might thoughtlessly try to "test" the new droids while they were walking amongst civilians. That could only end in disaster.

He glanced over at Treyfa, who was keeping her eyes directly in front of her in her own embarrassment. Should he have told her in advance that Rex wanted to save the bombardment for last? Nah. Let her sweat a little…

How much longer was this expo going to last? At least it wasn't a three day event like heard some were. Usually those were filled with parties and schmoozing; all things that Viken detested. Fortunately his boss left him with only this task which was to just man the booth and apeak with potential new customers. He didn't have to try to be a salesman luring people to his booth like at a county fair. No. He was just to let the company's reputation lure the customers to him.

Viken caught a glimpse of Dorthea Dobson Dorthea Dobson in the crowd, or at least he thought he did. Wasn't she supposed to be busy elsewhere? He dropped his gaze, furrowing his brow in thought. Surely nothing had gone wrong at the station, had it?

As he looked up and saw Rex Valhoun Rex Valhoun approaching his booth, Viken began to wonder if perhaps something was indeed wrong. No doubt his boss would have contacted the King directly first...

Viken lowered his arms to his sides and dipped his head in a small bow as Rex neared him. "Is there something wrong, Your Grace?"

To the King's right he spptted Arthakk Arthakk approaching with a curious attachment on him. Was it the head of a protocol droid? How clever....

Grand Inquisitor of the EOTL
Spending’s one day socially mixing with stuffy, boring aristocrats, corporate hawkers, stiff military men and various social climbers watching them parade around their latest military inventions in some kind of weird, usually masculine form of preening was not exactly Aculia’s idea of a good time unless accompanied by a suitably large amount of remuneration to her purse, but today was an exception. First, she was in the market for a proper, covert, and reliable personal starship for work. Second, she wanted to keep a sort of covert eye on the King, not so much because she was overly interested in him or knew him personally at this point, but because he was a great meal ticket so far and losing him to any “weapon malfunctions” would be very inconvenient. Third, there were a large variety of discounted, free, and effectively free* premium delicacies, something that could always lure her to such events.

She was dressed up for the event, something she rarely had the opportunity to do, because her typical attire would stand out too much. She wore a modest, long-sleeved black dress with a gold-lined white shawl to further cover herself, her hair tied up with her favorite black-gold ribbon, along with some black flats. A simple black purse could be seen around one of her arms, in which were various credit chits, datapads, and her lightsaber, since while she liked to have it on hand, she didn’t wish to broadcast her presence as a Force sensitive.

“Miss? Are you finished with your nuna legs?” the server at one of the food stalls spread throughout the conference asked, disturbing her little reverie in an attempt to free up some of his very limited seating.

“I will be in a little bit, how about another order?” she responded to mollify the vendor as she gulped down the last few bites of her first order of the fried avian creature, eying the Mandal-Arms booth and its not particularly pleasant proprietor Viken Dobson Viken Dobson from a distance. She had been watching him for some time, amused. It was clear that he also didn’t particularly like these events, and he didn’t even have a love of food, or, seemingly, money from his salesmanship skills, to incentivize him.

Even more interesting were his soon to be customers, as she spotted the young King Rex Valhoun Rex Valhoun and a rather large Wookie Arthakk Arthakk with some kind of translation droid approaching the man. Deciding it would be worth overhearing their conversation, she breathed deeply, opening herself up to the flowing currents of the Force and focusing on the little stall and those in front of it to overhear better as she glanced down at her food to avoid drawing attention. It should not raise any alarms, after all, she was only listening.

*Free for someone with sufficiently quick fingers, of course.

"Fire."

The loud shrieking noise as something pops over the center, a missile whistling by at high speed. There was a loud whining noise of things starting to be locked on before it slams downward at a pile of rubble used from earlier. There was a small silence, followed by a blue orb before it crushed upon itself with a sonic shockwave erupting. It spread out a bit as the building shook very lightly, Haon speaking up.

"As we all know, my Seismic Missiles have been replicated a few times...what I wish to unveil should be the end to the argument on who is the expert. I have a bomb with almost twenty times the magnitude of strength of a normal Seismic Charge. I will be demonstrating it through a live feed as...well quite frankly, setting off near here may destroy the building. Stay tuned."
