Showing the Paddies how its done (Jace)

On a remote planet, with slavery being illegal, slavers still decided to take slaves and create rings for their trade, all under the noses of local law enforcement. Of course, with his network of contacts, it didn't take the Jedi Master, and slave liberator, Joshua DragonsFlame, very long to find out where they were stationed. He had been asked by the Jedi Order, as strained as his relationship with them was, to bring along one of their Padawans on his trip, to help show the kid the ropes. While he didn't like dealing with his former "employer", Joshua agreed, thinking that bringing a Padawan along could show them firsthand just how cruel slavers could be.

Joshua would wait at the spaceport on the planet for Jace to arrive, arms folded, leaning against the wall with his eyes closed.

Jake had came to a remote planet to help deal with some slavers. He had always hated slaves and even more then slavers he hated people who would buy slaves. He never could figure out how someone could buy another. That was one of the reasons he didn't care for the Hutts. He was more then happy to stop any type of slavers. He never understood how they could hide from the law so well that might always be a mystery to Jake.He got to the space port he was supposed to meet a man that was a master. His understanding was the master was not part of the Jedi order. He had no idea what to expect from the master he was going to meet.Jake was a little on edge for this mission he had no idea what was going to happen. He began to make his way through the crowd on the space port to where he was supposed to meet the master. He came up to master and stopped about a foot away."Hello I'm Jake Jace the padawan your supposed to meet here for the mission."He held out his hand so the male could shake it.He knew he should show respect towards masters and to have manners as well.He wanted to come off good and hopefully learn a thing or to from the master he would be working with.

(Word of advice, try spacing your paragraphs out, it'll be easier to read them)

It wouldn't be long before the Padawan in question, that matched the description that he had been given, would make his way over to meet him. Josh wouldn't be that hard for the Padawan to recognize as the Jedi Master he was looking for. For all intents and purposes, he looked like your typical Jedi. He wore a brown set of Jedi Robes, with the white gi under them, and dark-blue and black combat boots different from your typical Jedi wear. His lightsaber hung on his belt, ready to be used at any moment. He hadn't been decked out in full uniform for a very long time, but it was the easiest way for a wet-behind the ears-Padawan to recognize him.

Joshua looked to be in his early to mid twenties, but the look on his face told it all - his eyes, his posture, the way he looked at the Padawan showed the years of experience he'd had with the Jedi, whether it was with the RJO (Republic Jedi Order) or the SS (Silver Sanctum, formerly the Silver Jedi Order). He'd been one since he was a child... He knew nothing else.

He would accept the handshake, shaking his hand gently with a nod. "Greetings, Padawan. I'm Master Joshua DragonsFlame, feel free to call me Josh" He would greet warmly, with a small smile. "You're ready for your mission then? I've heard good things about you. But don't let it get to your head"

Once Josh took Jakes hand an shook it Jake shook his back.He smiled back at Josh.Jake had short brown hair dark eyes and tan skin.He was wearing simple Jedi robes of tan, white and black. He had two lightsabers hooked on his belt one was for his main hand and the other for his off hand.Jake was a Jedi that duel wielded lightsabers he like it better with two.He took a good look at Josh he did look like most Jedi masters.Jake wondered if he was a art of the sliver Jedi order like himself.Or was he part of the republic Jedi order maybe he should ask.

"It's nice to meet you Josh can you till me more about our mission?May I ask which Jedi order are you part of?As you know I'm apart of the sliver Jedi order. Is there anything you need to know about me or why I'm here and since we will be working together?Id like to know more about you."

(yes I know but I'm on a phone most of the time so I forget to space them out better sorry about that but I'll try to space them out more though)

(No worries, I constantly work via mobile too for my shorter posts. Its just easier to read that way. Also, I was mistaken and thought you were part of the Republic Jedi Order, so ignore parts of my last post or so that allude to it. I'm part of the Silver Jedi as well)

The Padawan was young, likely still a little wet behind the ears, the Jedi Master would note as he shook his head. But he'd already made his lightsaber, two lightsabers by the looks of it.. His gaze homed in on the lightsabers for a moment. It took skill for a Padawan to learn to duel wield lightsabers so early... How long had he been around, he thought? Perhaps he would find out soon enough, before long.

To the young one's question, he smiled faintly. "I'm a part of the Silver Jedi, like yourself. Though I suppose it's referred to as the Silver Sanctum now, governing body and all" The Jedi would remark with a light chuckle. "As for our mission..." He began, thinking it over. "There's a few slave camps I've found over the course of my research on this planet. Our job is to attack them, liberate the slaves within, dispatch the slavers as we see fit, and unlock any slave collars on any slaves we find" He would remark.

"You up to it, kiddo?"

Jake raisen an eyebrow he thought Jake was a kid when he wasn't a kid at all.He wondered why Josh had thought of him as a child was it because he was just a padawan or something else. But to think of their mission it pleased Jake to be able to free some slaves because there shouldn't be any kind of slaves. But he was worried about the attack on the camp he didn't want to hurt any of the slaves they were there to help.He only wanted to stop the slavers from taking anymore slaves if he had to kill the slavers to do so then he would.Killing the slavers would be the right thing to do in Jakes mind.He wonder if part of freeing the slaves would be killing the slavers that had taking them in the first place.Jake had thought all slavers should pay for their crimes to other people and Jake would help in making them pay for it.

Jake came out of his thoughts and turned his attention back to Josh."Kiddo what makes you think Im a child is it because Im a padwan because Im sure it shouldn't be my age.You yourself are not much older then I am I may only be 20 years old.So is there a plan of act on the camp I would not want to hurt any of the slaves we are trying to save. Are we to kill the slavers they need to answer for their crimes and they need to be stopped.I want to help stop the slavers."

Joshua would start laughing when the Padawan would lash out at him verbally over the "kid" comment. Once he was done, he stared at him with an amused expression... And then it turned serious.

"Age doesn't matter, I always call new Padawans "kiddo" as a means of testing them to see if they can go without getting angry or letting their arrogance get the best of them" He spoke flatly before he looked the Padawan dead in the eye, his expression? Dead serious. "A test which you just failed"

He stared at him for a moment, letting it all sink in for Jake. So many Padawans he had seen come out of the Republic and Silver Orders, they were so damned arrogant. Just like the idiots that pushed him out of the Grandmaster position in the Republic Jedi Order. Arrogant... Aggressive... So damn full of themselves. And many of them turned out to be, or soon became Sith themselves. His methods of testing were harsh and blunt, but the sooner that Jake realized the issues of his arrogance, the sooner he could learn.

"A Jedi, especially a Padawan, does not have ego, or arrogance... Especially when it comes to addressing a Master. While you may not be much younger then I, I've been learning how to be a Jedi since only a few years after I learned how to walk" Joshua would lecture. "You're still learning, don't get a big head just because you have two lightsabers. You won't be so damn arrogant when a Sith cleaves your head off" He remarked harshly before turning and starting to walk toward the spaceport's exit, motioning with a tilt of his head for the Padawan to follow.

He'd hate him for the lecture, but he'd thank him one day.

"No hurting the slaves. Find a key to release their collars so they can't be detonated. If necessary, kill the slavers" He spoke, calm but firm. This was an important matter to him. They couldn't afford to muck it up.

Jake would sigh it wasn't as bad as he would like.Atleast the master called every padawan kiddo.Jake preferred no special treatment he liked it better that way."I am sorry if it came out as arrogant I thought you called all padawan a kiddo. But I had no away of knowing for sure and I was out of line."He bowed his head alittle to the master as a show of respect.

He was listening to the master talk.Jake knew he was still learning he didn't think he had a big ego.Sure he was learning to use two lightsabers but that didn't make him great or speicel. It was just something he had preferred to learn and he knew he also had along way to go in his training. He needed to learn more about the Jedi ways, lightsabers and the force and how to use it."Forgive me but I'm under no idea that I'm some great Jedi.I knew becoming even a knight can take years of training.Just because I use two lightsabers dosent make me differ from any other padawan in either order. The two lightsabers is just something I perfer to learn.I know my training just started to train to be a Jedi I suppose age don't matter only how one learns matters."

Jake took in the information about their mission and thought about it.He had no idea how to take off one of the salves collars without hurting them.He had never seen one before and didn't know how they worked."I don't know how to get a collar off without possibly hurting them.Is that something you can teach me how to do?Ok we can kill the slavers and make sure no of the slaves are harmed. But wouldn't it be easier to sneak in free the slaves before the slavers knew what happened. It would give us an element of surprise and less likely putting the slaves in less danger then an attack on the camp would."

(Occ.sorry for the really late reply I got sidetracked)

".... I just said that I called all Padawans 'kiddo' though. If you thought I did to begin with, why did you b**** me out, then?" The Jedi Master would respond, raising an eyebrow as he peered down at this peculiar Padawan. Out of all the ones the Silver Jedi had to send him, they just had to send him the ignorant, dumb as a rock, arrogant one. Maybe they figured that if the kid annoyed him enough, he'd let him get killed and save them the trouble. Sadly, that wasn't what he usually did. He'd bring the kid back alive, unless he did something dumb enough to get himself killed. If that happened, well... Wasn't really anything he could do about it if the kid made a dumb decision like the one he'd just made. It was a rough world. There wasn't room for mistakes in the heat of combat.

He ignored the lightsaber talk and motioned the topic away with a wave of his hand. "Like I said, Padawan. Find the keys. If we can't, then I'll pick the locks one by one if I have to. And, it's a good idea... Unfortunately, that would require stealth, and as soon as they see the slaves running, they'd know we're here and they'll gun down the slaves before going after us"

"But..." He began, scratching his chin for a moment. "What if we split up for a bit? One of us distracted the slavers and engaged them, while the other headed into the areas containing the slaves, dispatched the slavers guarding them, and found a path for them to escape and rendezvous with us once we've taken the slavers out?"

Jake sighed he thought he just didn't think it through before he spoke.Jake had a bad habit of doing that and making himself look like a fool.He needed to learn to think more before he talked it would make him look better."I'm sorry I guess I didn't think it through before I spoke and made a fool of myself.I didn't want to assume and make an idiot out of myself I guess."

Jake was happy that he had a good idea but sadly it wouldn't work.He saw how it wouldn't when Josh had explained how it would. If stealth wasn't going to work maybe they could find anything way."Oh I see find the keys which I'm sure where they would be would be in a middle of a bunch of slavers.Becuase it wouldn't make any sense to not have the keys and the slaves unguarded.Maybe we could take them in surprise from two sides and flank them.I think doing that might be alittle faster and cause less unneeded damage and less harm to the slaves. If you have to pick the locks I can watch you back."Jake was trying to think of logical ideas on how to do mission faster with less damage and hopeful no hurt slave.

Jake thought about the slipting up idea it was a good idea.To take two areas with slaves at once it would save time and get rid of the slavers. It may even have less damage and less slaves that could be hurt."That sounds like a good idea it could be faster and easier. Is there any traps we should keep an eye out?Be it being traps the keep the slaves from espacing or to keep people out?"

Hopefully, the Padawan would learn, he thought. Otherwise... Well, he wouldn't last long if a Sith came along. Sith weren't dumb enough to leave room to make mistakes. If Jake didn't smarten up quickly, especially before he became a Knight as they seemed so happy to promote so quickly these days... He would soon enough find himself at the wrong end of a lightsaber, and dead as a doornail. He didn't wish to be hard, of course, but his lectures were lessons in themselves that would teach Jake and allow him to smarten up in order to survive.

He acknowledged his apologies with a curt nod before returning to the topic at hand. "Let's split up. There's two sets of cages, and an office that'll have a few slaves plus probably the key. The office will be guarded as well as the cages. I'll distract the brunt of the attention of the slavers here, and there's a good chance some of the ones guarding the cages and offices will go if I cause enough of a ruckus as well. That's when you swoop in, take care of any that stay behind, free the slaves, and escort them to a safe place. If you can get the key off a slaver or find it, then even better. Get them all in one place, and keep them safe until I return. Got it?" He would ask.

"As for traps... Likely. Watch the walls, roofs and floors carefully. Mines, turrets, or electric laser walls are your enemy on this. Kapeesh?"
