For the Brood
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
The ShyRan Basilisk is a first attempt at reaching out to the Galactic Market. While it isn't on the holo-net for purchase officially, one can find some ways to message this company as the details for the fighter are already up. Though due to legal conformities within the Galactic Alliance, the current line of Basilisks are housed aboard the ShyRan Wraith. Testing with these craft has gone very well; they don't very much excel at any one thing, but do well at a lot; with their ECM packages, and their innate stealth capabilities, the Basilisk is nothing to slouch on. Perhaps after it wins a few battles, this starfighter might begin to gain some clout; for now, they are maintained; ready to sell to the highest bidder.
'Though, with the way things are; they may just stay at home with their creators. Depending on the price however, the Sacrelli may be willing to part with them'
They're expensive to build, but can be the bane to a fighting force not ready to tangle with them. With the interior Electronic components housing encased in Nykkalt, this ship is virtually undetectable by conventional spacer means.

- Armament: High
- x 6 RMC-M6 Laser Cannon | x | A powerful laser cannon with a self-sufficient design, allowing for extreme flexibility in installation and placement.
- Homing Missiles Two Separate pod encasings on either wing Housing x24 medium-yield missiles. They will fire on the locked target as long as the trigger is held; and can empty a payload from max to empty within eight seconds
- Defenses: High
- RAAM-M3 Tactical Ordnance Jammer | x | An anti-missile targeting jammer, it creates a null-lock void bubble around the ship with a variety of effects. Missiles that use a targeting sensor to detonate will be confused into detonating early, missiles with inbuilt targeting sensors are scrambled and 'repelled' away from the ship, and the null-lock makes it harder for enemy ships to lock on the further away their target is.
- SC2-41 Vidhar Cloaking Device | x | A synthetic stygian crystal-based cloaking device intended for use on semi-unique ships only. Creates a cloaking field that directly contours to a ship's hull and eliminates any sensor or visual indication that normally occurs when a ship cloaks/uncloaks.
- MXC-T19 Ark Sensor Scrambler | x | A 'sensor scrambler' that produces bogus signals to make it appear to enemy scanners and trackers that there are more ships than there actually are.
- RMV-APS14 Saladin Anti-Projectile Countermeasure System | x | Close-range, passive-activation countermeasure system. Fires projectile against incoming warheads to prematurely detonate and/or destroy hostile weapons, preventing any hostile projectile from damaging the vehicle or starship the countermeasure system is mounted on.
- RAAM-M4 Sensor Inverter | x | Advanced anti-targeting system that 'returns to sender' projectiles fired at the host ship. Effectiveness decreases over longer distances, and with the maneuverability/response time of the hostile ship.
- MRS-02 Jotun Defensive System | x | A smaller shield system intended for ships between starfighter and frigate size.

- Just Right - The Basilisk fills a role that is particular to the ship it was built to be stationed on, not excelling at anything, but being better that average in everything just the same.
- Where is he? - A question most enemy pilots will find themselves asking. These ships are highly difficult to pin down on sensors, and equally if not more impossible to find with the naked eye in the black of space; the engineers at ShyRan would take it a step further, saying that the ship is a radar ghost; period.
- Better use the blasters - If an enemy pilot does manage to locate and get behind one of these crafts, they may soon find locking onto it is nearly impossible. With its ECM package, and material make-up, getting a lock would take an amount of time that simply isn't feasible in a dogfight
- Mr. Right Now - The Basilisk doesn't truly excel in anything, and while it can challenge most superiority fighters, it usually falls short in one or more categories.
- Lone Wolves - Low Squadron count. The Basilisk was meant to take on the role that multiple fighters did in the past, One ship counts as a squadron
