Description:
The SI-17 Stealth Blaster takes its concept from a now ancient weapon called the DC-19 “Stealth” Carbine.
This weapon was originally constructed by BlasTech Industries for use by the Clone Shadow Troopers. This weapon has more than a few unique aspects, among them, and greatest being its use as a stealth weapon. The SI-17 follows this pattern completely. It uses the same gas mixture, the same internal components, and the same style sound suppressor in order to achieve the desired effect of complete and total anonymity when firing the weapon.
The SI-17 functions off the same principals as the DC-19. It uses a unique gas mixture and is thus extremely expensive to use. It also has far fewer shots than a standard blaster pistol and is slightly shorter ranged. Of course these trade offs are all made far more worthwhile when the blaster pistol is actually used. The weapon itself makes next to no noise, and the bolt that it fires is completely invisible to the naked eye.
Of course this also makes it far more difficult for a Jedi or Sith to deflect the SI-17's blaster bolt. Though through natural instinct and battle precognition this is still possible, it is far more difficult with no visual or auditory aid. This makes the SI-17 slightly more effective against inexperienced Force Users.
This makes the SI-17 the perfect stealth weapon to utilize in assassinations and covert missions.
