It only took a minute after getting him back to the van to knock him out.

The trip back to Fondor had been...quiet. None of the four seemed to want to talk after taking the Trade Federation representative in. Zygerria had originally been planned as a simple in and out job to get the revolting slaves some needed firepower, and watch who showed up. Get some footage of it to see who was backing who. Taking Nute? That was a spur of the moment call.

As they got to the unmarked building, entering through a garage in the back, they looked around and set up their new guest for their interview.

A tap on the back of the head motioned Nute to awaken. They were now in a small room, handcuffs forcing their arms behind their back, and tied to a chair, a small table in front of them.

In front of them, on the other side of the table, the same masked, blue coated figure sat in front of them. "Good morning." They said, their voice still filtered to sound entirely gender neutral.

The Neimoidian had traveled to Zygerria in order to recruit more laborers for the ongoing conflict between the Dark Empire and the Galactic Alliance. However, amidst the chaos of a slave uprising on the planet, Nute was captured by an unknown operative before a rescue team could reach him.

Before losing consciousness and being taken away, he pondered over numerous possibilities, one of which involved a fellow member of the Imperial Ruling Council orchestrating the entire event to undermine the Trade Federation's dominance in the Dark Empire's economy.

The contemplation of such thoughts was abruptly interrupted when a gentle tap on the back of his head jolted him awake.

"Ahhhh..." With his fight or flight response kicking in, he expressed his distress, on the verge of escaping the room if it weren't for the secure restraints of the sturdy handcuffs and tightly bound rope keeping him in place.

"Norm.normally, when you take...take...hostages you treat them nicely."

He addressed The Vulptex The Vulptex , struggling to articulate each word as overwhelming fear consumed him causing him to start shaking.

"Normally." The figure repeated with a calm voice. "So what's this about the Trade Federation making deals with the sith? Think we could make a credit or two ransoming you off to them? Or is it the Imperials this time? Can never tell the difference between the two."

The Neimoidian cast a gentle gaze upon the person, whose direct and straightforward interrogation approach seemed peculiar for someone attempting a kidnapping and ransom. Despite the overwhelming fear coursing through him, it became evident that this agent did not belong to any illicit organization, as they would typically boast about their affiliation.

It is possible that the Sith Order may be looking into the activities of the Trade Federation, although it is improbable that they would refrain from dispatching an authorized inquisitor to oversee the transaction.

"You seem awfully blunt for a kidnapper," He said, with squinting eyes at the line of questioning. Additionally, it was noteworthy that they made no reference to any attempt of extorting money from the Trade Federation, which happened to be his sole recognized employer. Something odd was happening here, quite odd but the Neimoidian wouldn't know for certain.

"And why would we be making deals with Imperials, when we blockaded the Lost Empire's space from trade?" The Neimoidian asked, refernecing to the very public knowledge that the Federation Fleets had been harassing traders and merchants belonging to the Empire of the Lost.

"Why wouldn't you? Trade Federation isn't interested in morality, you guys are in it for the credits. I've watched the senate hearings, that's all you pigs ever talk about. I'm just trying to figure out who I can get the best deal off of for your corpse. Sure as hell ain't gonna be the jedi. See, I'm a dealer in...let's call it, dirty business. Make a deal with a Hutt for one ransom, trade it off to a sith for a bunch. Take a trade federation guy hostage, start a bidding war for who's got the most investment in them." The figure pulled a knife out of his sleeve, flicking it around between his fingers. "What'do you think? The Sith'll pay a pretty penny for a body. Or maybe you tell me something interesting and I trade you off to the GA. Make less up front, but I can sell the info off for much more. You live, I get a long term investment. That's your language, yeah? Money?"

The Neimoidian's apprehension was gradually diminishing, albeit only to some extent, as he began to grow wary of the person standing in front of him. During the interaction, their behavior was quite peculiar as they displayed a bold and aggressive demeanor, reminiscent of a criminal enforcer attempting to assert dominance over a more formidable adversary.

"I could possibly provide the information you seek, if you send a message to the Jedi Council."

The Neimoidian said, having one piece of important information that would be highly interesting to the New Jedi Council, although he would not share such vital intelligence with a random kidnapper.

"And what would that be?" The masked figure inquired. "I might be able to figure out a way to pass along something to the jedi. You walk up to the temple screaming bloody murder asking for help, and they'll listen to you like chumps half the time."

Say what you wanted about Torn, but he was effective. And he was unnerving. That's what made him so good at his job. That- and he could see in the dark, when nobody else could. So, with a dramatic effect, the lights in the room that the target was in went out, and there was just a brief silence, before a click of his fingers indicated for the man outside to turn them back on.

And then, as if a phantom, he slipped in- his eyes able to see even in the very low light.

And the man appeared behind the Neimoidian, more or less. He didn't have a mask on.

"Don't turn around. But I'd tell my friend here what you may know. Details can come later, but your life depends on it."

Over his shoulder, Torn placed a bullet on the table. Just a single one.

"Next one's coming faster. So talk."

The Neimoidian merely watched from the chair, his expression unreadable as The Vulptex The Vulptex nodded in agreement, showing a willingness to cooperate. It seemed that the idea of sending a message to the New Jedi Council in exchange for valuable information had piqued its interest.

He pondered the precise language required to convey the message effectively without revealing any information that could compromise the Dark Empire and his seat on the Imperial Ruling Council. Nute was about to respond once more, until the silent form of Torn Eskol Torn Eskol appeared behind him. Using the same tactic of threatening him into submission with violence, which it was effective more or less.

"You would be stupid to kill me...killl me, knowing the intensive knowledge I have about the Dark Empire's activity." Nute explained, stuttering through some of the sentence. "Rogue Elements within the Trade Federation underneath Tithe, have begun redirecting vast amounts of resources towards several hidden regions of space, within the Dark Empire's grasp. Construction Material, Energy Crystals, Advanced Power Generators. The works for the Emperor's Project." He further remarked, fully aware that his existence held far greater worth than his allegiance to the Dark Empire. Although carefully making sure to mention that it was rogue elements within the Trade Federation, and not the entire organization itself.

The figure shrugged. "I make credits either way. Don't need you alive to do that. So if you do value your life, I'd spill everything you know before I get bored of this."

<Ask them what this Project is. Even if we can't tie this to the Trade Federation, we can get some intel on whatever the DE is planning.> A muted earpiece rang in Alex's ear.

With a sudden moment, the figure stabbed their knife into the table. "So what is this project then?"

Torn looked at the other agent, before walking around to the front of their captive.

Torn played a strong hand- he showed his face. Problem was, Torn had a very.... average face, in a way. Like he could blend in with ten million different people. The only noticeable aspect of him was the small scar on his cheek. But other than that? He was an everyman.

And very much obviously, a killer. He sat down across the Trade Federation Rep, taking a deep breath, he looked over at his compatriot, nodding along.

"Sounds like a big project. Must be something worth telling about."

The Neimoidian observed with vigilant eyes, fully aware that divulging the presence of the Galactic Emperor's Project to the two abductors in front of him posed a significant gamble.

Undertaking such a course of action carried the potential for grave repercussions, not only for his own well-being but also for the entire organization that professed neutrality amidst the eruption of the Core War between the Dark Empire and the Galactic Alliance.

The members of the Empire's inner circle would not react favorably to any instances of disloyalty, leading to immediate and harsh consequences. The Vulptex The Vulptex slammed the knife into the table in front of him, causing him to jump a little in surprise and fear. The sharp blade gleamed menacingly in the dimly lit room, casting eerie shadows on the walls.

Both individuals expressed a curiosity to delve deeper into the project, despite the fact that its complete scale had not yet been disclosed to either him or the Ruling Council.

"I do not know much, beyond the shifting of commerce vessels across the Dark Empire's borders. But I can point you in the proper direction, the defunct Epoch Engineering Corporation was responsible for a similiar project for the Mawite Brotherhood. If the former Chancellor Tithe has not erased the data, the blueprints should fall under the jurisdiction of the current Chancellor, as it was Tithe who spearheaded the corporate cleansing."

- Nute explained, giving just enough information to entice them.

That was something.

But it wasn't enough.

They needed to tie the Trade Federation to the Dark Empire. Prove they were making true backroom deals to undermine the Alliance.

"What else you got? My knife is getting duller by the moment."

<I got an idea. Tell your friend you're taking a break.>

The figure paused, pulling the knife out of the table. "I'll be back. Need a snack. You keep our friend here comfy, yeah?"

AGENT ESKOL

Torn just clicked his teeth when the other agent walked out of the room.

He rapped his fingers along the table, looking around boredly. He didn't try to hide his boredom, nor his disgust.

"I was just gonna kill you, you know. They told me not to. Said you might be useful. But-"

He checked his watch.

"Running out of time for your bullshit, red eyes."

Torn finally looked up. His eyes had a sort of reddish-purple haze to them. And they shifted in color when his head moved. Torn could see in the dark, like animals in the jungle. Another unsettling part of him.

"Hope you don't splatter a lot like the last guy."

Torn let out a deep breath, pulling out his sidearm, and pointed it at the alien's head, taking a deep breath, and covered the back of the handgun with his opposite hand to prevent the aforementioned splatter, and turned his hand as he began to squeeze the trigger, slowly applying pressure....

If there was anything to say, now would be the time.

It became apparent that the information regarding the Epoch Engineering Corporation was less than satisfactory, to the two abductors. They had no doubt expected for the Neimoidian to have more detailed plans and blueprints for the Emperor's grand designs.

Yet all they had was outdated references to the corporate cleansing of Epoch from the influence of Fossk, and some data that might be left over from the Tithe Administration within the Office of the Chancellor.

The individual's eyes, tinged with bug-like red, surveyed the room as The Vulptex The Vulptex exited, leaving him vulnerable to the schemes and ploys of Torn Eskol Torn Eskol , causing him to feel a sense of unease even more so with the sidearm pointing in his direction and hand dangerously close to the trigger.

He was scared for his life, but knowing that the Trade Federation would strip him of his rank and stature amongst the Neimoidian society gave him enough resolve to hang on.

"A quick death would be a mercy, compared to losing my standing amongst the Neimoidians." - Nute said, finding some strength despite the imminent death before him.

A crash could be heard from outside the small door.

"Whoops! Sorry!"
A woman's voice could be heard, as the door opened to the sight of a petite blonde woman in what looked to be business attire, carrying a stack of papers tall enough to be over her head. With a wobble, the woman walked over to the table, and plopped the papers on it. She looked to Torn Eskol Torn Eskol with the quickest of looks, her eyes discretely indicating a knowing look, before hopping away in fear. "Oh! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt, I just...my employer you just met with likes to have their paperwork in order. Sir, would you mind signing these?"

She looked to Nute Griimda Nute Griimda with a peppy, if slightly spooked smile, offering a pen from her small coat pocket. Clearly, she was being paid well if she was doing this, even if it meant she was terrified the whole time.

Nute could tell all the paperwork was legit. All of it was legit legal tender, some of it morbidly so. A waiver to his understanding the danger of his situation, a contract to allow him to be sold to the sith, an agreement to be extradited to the GA, all incredibly well put together with nothing out of place.

Nute felt a brief moment of relief when Torn Eskol released the pressure on the sidearm's trigger, granting him a temporary respite from the imminent threat of death. There was a quick glance at the table, where the gun was placed within easy reach. However, despite the proximity, he knew better than to actually grab it. After all, he was a banker by profession, not a soldier.

With ease, he reclined in his seat, exuding a sense of tranquility as he patiently awaited the dissipation of the tense ambiance. He possessed unwavering faith in his persuasive skills, confident that he could navigate his way out of the predicament and regain his position within the esteemed Dark Empires' Ruling Council. This was crucial to ensure that the Trade Federation received adequate representation among their ranks.

"In Neimoidian society, the pursuit of ascending the hierarchical ladder is deeply ingrained. Personally, I am determined to avoid regressing back to the lowly grub-hives or succumbing to a monotonous existence as a drone." Nute explained - shivering at the thought.

Although the pair was distracted by the arrival of a blonde woman, dropping off some legal paperwork for the Neimoidian to sign. The Neimoidian carefully examined the legal document, scrutinizing it for any indications of deceit or fraudulent information. It appeared all in working order, and if it meant getting him out of here then all the better.

"Here," The Neimoidian said - signing the paperwork in the proper order, although making sure to capitalize the two II's in Griimda.

"Thank you!" She smiled, gathering the papers and taking them off.

They have gotten his signature.

Now they could run it and see what came up. A good spy knows where to look. Plenty of things were public record. Plenty more could be found with a little bit more digging.

They'd just have to look.
