Son of Triam
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
After AD-8 won Triam Akovin's Auction Weapon Lot, the droid requested a pistol firearm that could pack a significant enough punch to make up for the troublesome weakness the droid possessed in being incapable of firing a two-handed firearm. Taking advantage of a "composite" blaster system for additional power per power cell, and building the frame out of lightweight Desh Terenthium alloy, Triam was able to couple together not two but three different weapon types together in order to take advantage of armor specific weaknesses on any assailant the droid might potentially face. The resulting creation was of course the SIB Pistol, a weapon specifically fashioned for the auction winner, but inspiring enough for Triam to potentially think on expanding on. She decided to add it to his droid he commissioned too for extra measure.
- Intent: To create a lightweight pistol with two semi-exotic weapons types (and one common) to ensure the maximum amount of shield and armor penetration, so it'll pack a punch regardless of who the target is. Oh, and to fulfill a contractual obligation to AD-8.

- Crude "Double-Blaster" technology reconfigured to "fuse" different bolt types, such as ion, blaster, or sonic bolts, then added another barrel for all three.
- A Punch With Three Flavors - These days a simple blaster won't cut it, and ion blasters have become less popular with combat de-ionizers showing up all the time in the best armors. However, rolling them together could give you an edge, as not only will you best any dunderhead who goes without a de-ionizer, your bolts will do far more than tickle an opponent who does happen to have one. Want to put the last nail in the coffin? Let's throw in a sonic bolt to eliminate the competition who go without sonic dampeners (spoilers, a lot of people). All together, this cocktail of high-energy mayhem will wreak havoc on all but the absolutely best protected persons, and will capitalize on the individual weaknesses of different types of armor. It's stun setting is operational as well, for a non-lethal (albeit heavily uncomfortable) take down.
- Semi-Composite Bolt - Although it isn't perfect, the resulting "bolt" formed from the Tri-barrels of the SIB pistol do have some manner of cohesion and additional power (superior than just firing three separate bolts). It isn't exactly comparable to the effectiveness of a double-blaster, but with the additional barrel and the ability to seriously damage armor, shields, and the organic body stacked on top of it, its stopping power is gloriously extreme in comparison.
- Highly Inaccurate - If the Double-blaster was infamous for its difficulty to aim, adding a third barrel is not likely help very much in improving that drawback. This of course, manifests in a rather limited range than would be for an ordinary blaster.
- Rate of Fire - Despite having more barrels to fire from, the rate of fire on the SIB is rather embarrassing. Each barrel takes up a lot of energy from a power cell, and all barrels fire simultaneously to combine their disparate bolts into a semi-composite entity. After it fires, it takes some measure of time before another burst can be pushed out. Due to this energy demand for large power cells, its ammunition capacity is also at a disadvantage to traditional weapons.
