- Particle Weaponry: The Sica utilizes state-of-the-art compact particle weaponry, the energy of which explodes upon contact with physical objects or energy. This makes the weapon especially useful against lightsaber-wielding energy, as it negates their ability to redirect or outright deflect the energy bolts.
- Variable Firing Modes: The Sica comes with variable firing modes, such as single-fire, semi-automatic, pulse, and fully automatic. This allows the Legionnaire to quickly switch between each mode dependent on the combat situation.
- Low Ammunition Clip: The ammunition cartridges of the Sica are of lower quantity compared to the Empire's blaster rifles, as they were designed to be used for close-quarters rather than longer ranged and more protracted military engagements.
- Reduced Accuracy At Long Range: The energy that binds the particle plasma together doesn't hold together after a certain period after being fired from the carbine, rendering its use as a long-range weapon virtually unfeasible.
- EMP and Ion: Like most weapons, the Sica can be disabled by a direct ion or electromagnetic blast. The weapon can be rendered operable after a certain length of time depending on the severity of the blast.
The advent of conflict necessitates the creation of better and more reliable weaponry, a concept that the Sith Empire has embraced whole-heartedly. Increased hostilities with the Silver Jedi, and even rebellion from among the ranks of the Sith, brought about the creation of a smaller and more compact version of the Empire’s Autokrator blaster rifle. The newly minted Sica blaster carbine, named after a short curved sword wielded by ancient civilizations, was constructed with particle beam technology augmented by a series of galven coils. Such technology was well-documented to be very effective against lightsaber-wielding opponents, as the tightly packed particle beams exploded on contact with any solid object; physical or energy. This not only delivered heavy damage to enemy armor and fortifications but also made deflecting such energy with a lightsaber an extreme risk for the lightsaber’s wielder.
Like with all Sith-Imperial weapons, those soldiers on front lines or nearest to the possible conflict were given the weapons as soon as they rolled off the assembly lines. Quick, but informative, training regimens gave Legionnaires all they needed to know about utilizing and maintaining their new weaponry. Each soldier was biometrically linked to their weapon, making it impossible for enemy soldiers to loot the weapon from a corpse and use it in a battle. This had the added drawback of rendering the weapon worthless to fellow soldiers should they be deprived of their own weapon.
However, the rapid proliferation of such particle beam weaponry was crucial to maintaining the line against the Jedi menace. For though the Empire may distract itself with internal schisms and break-away rogues, there always remained that steadfast dedication to the erasure of the Sith’s greatest enemies.
The Jedi.
