+Diplomatic: Of his Alderaanian traits, Sigismund was raised in the ways of Alderaan’s famed negotiators and mediators. Even as an agent of the Confederacy, he uses this knowledge in tandem with the cutthroat tactics of a dark sider in order to effectively broker deals and alliances with others.
WEAKNESSES
-Vehement Abolitionist: Sigismund's Alderaanian roots have, if anything, an influence on his belief in liberty. He does not believe in the institution of slavery, setting him apart from and at odds to other Dark Side groups. He believes that, why should one rule through fear and enslavement when you can influence through loyalty?
-Intolerant to Failure: Sigismund usually attempts to order his schemes in some sort of Xanatos Gambit, but has an almost Vader-like reaction to when one of his underlings fail him. Many a servant of his have been Force-choked or physically punished by his hands when their incompetence foil his plans.
-Vengeful: Sigismund still holds bitterness about his exile, and one day seeks revenge on his fellow Thul. All in all, his anger over the entire situation makes him hard to speak with people he knows are from the court of Alderaan’s royalty. It brings nothing but stinging memories.
Like many noblemen, Count Sigismund Thul of Ilyria is a man who prides himself on his refined tastes and manners. For the most part, he comes off as a gentleman, speaking with grace. His tongue also is barbed, easily used to weave cutthroat deals and diplomacy with other parties. His dark side, when he allows it to be let free, can be very wrathful and bitter. He is known for his quickness to punish those who fail him, betray him, or otherwise break his machinations.
BIOGRAPHY
Nearly four decades ago, Sigismund Thul was born to a strange union. His father was the lesser son of House Thul of Alderaan. His mother, on the other hand, was a woman from one of the many noble families from House Mecetti in the Tapani sector. He was raised in the lap of luxury, being tutored in the way of diplomacy and the political sphere, like many youths of Alderaan.
Yet, when he was just a boy, he proved sensitive with the Force. This revelation drew the interest of his maternal family, who quickly and secretly placed him under the tutelage of the Dark Side cult known as the Mecrosa Order, the mysterious guild of assassins made up of Mecetti citizens. Under their careful watch, Sigismund became a formidable adept in the Dark Side.
Yet, when the elders of House Thul became aware of his studies, they grew fearful. The history of House Thul was one of shame, with their ancestors once allying with the Sith Empire of old. The Thul elders, fearing a reprisal of the Dark Side bringing war and strife to their House, exiled Sigismund and his mother from Alderaan when he was a young man. In this time, he spent the remainder of his youth on Oboulette, in the lap of Mecetti comforts.
As he grew older, he eventually made contact with the former Serennese noble known as Adron Malvern. Through circumstances known only between the two men, Sigismund and his estate were transferred to Malvern’s regnal world of Ilyria, in which the son of House Thul was restored to a title of nobility: a Count of Ilyria. Not long after, he joined up with the Confederacy’s Knights Obsidian, believing he could offer his Force talents and knowledge to them when needed.
