Due to his prodigious strength (unbeknownst to him slightly increased by his connection to the Force) and large size, Sigmund is able to wield it with one hand with a surprising level of effectiveness, though he tires more quickly that way.
- Cortosis-lined heavy duraplast armour, (pictured only in part, not in full) otherwise nothing special; Sigmund relies on his own strength and the proper fit of the armour for its mobility and use, not on any modern technology.
- Ultrachrome shield, constructed from alloy salvaged from the wreckage of his first ship, before he learned to properly pilot them. Layered over with a veneer of wood to disguise its true nature.
Sigmund Sigisson is a man of high faith. This is considered by many who know him to be part of the foundation of who he is; everything he has done in his life, at least since truly reaching adulthood, has been as an act of devotion to the Gods. Most recently, this has extended to his leaving his homeworld, taking on a life as a roving mercenary. He considers this his time of following the path of Helm, the god of war and justice; as such, the causes that Sigmund will fight for are very select indeed.
He is considered more open than the average Valkyr, more readily offering a hand or a smile than his usually-gruff kinsmen. This grows even more noticeable under the effect of strong drink; while the average Valkyr will finally begin to open up, Sigmund seems to revel in the merriment, to a level that some of his less-charitable clansmen, in the past, described as his being "Marked by Velkar."
However, while he is not as gruff as the rest of his race, and is far faster to friendship than many of them, this extends the other way. His ire is quick to raise, and his wrath is so fearsome that even the other Valkyri would shy away from him. This is highly evident in battle, which Sigmund takes to in a berserk frenzy that is liable to leave a long trail of destruction in his wake, though as of yet he's managed to retain enough control that he doesn't cause friendly casualties alongside those of the enemy.
Lastly, his connection to the Force is highly tied to his personality and his worldview. He grew up knowing the tales of the Gods and other legends of his people, taught by his clan elders; these legends were full of feats of awe and amazement, all due to the mystical powers of the divine and their magic. When he left Midvinter, then, and a wayward, exiled Jedi taught him of the ways of the Force, his stubborn mind quickly became set on various matters. To him, the manner in which Jedi, Sith, and others utilize the Force is dangerous for their own souls, as they profane that which rightly belongs to the divine. His method, then, for connecting to the Force and channeling it, grew out of this mindset.
While he is capable of using many of the more minor powers—low-level telekinesis, minor bodily enhancement, etc.—nearly instanenously, like most Force sensitives, those who are paying attention might notice that he often mutters something while 'casting' the ability. This grows more evident with the more powerful attacks that he attempts to use; in a manner that is not entirely dissimilar to Sith magic, Sigmund will recite a phrase—or even multiple verses, if he can do it quickly enough—from the legends and tales of Gods and men that he was taught as a young boy, relying on them to help maintain his focus and channel his energies into whatever he is attempting to do. This slows him down in comparison to others of a similar level of training, though whether it is due to some unknown-to-himself hidden strength, or due to the depth of his faith, Sigmund has proven himself capable of feats in the Force that approach the strength of higher masters...should he have the time to recite what he needs, relying on his heavy armour to protect him long enough to say it. For, should his words falter or be interrupted, his faith shall waver, and the power he is attempting to use will fail...or, perhaps, backfire upon himself.
