Shotosaber
+ Because of the Ghost Fire crystal, the shotosaber, when ignited, is almost completely silent to the naked ear.
+ The emitted blade is highly translucent and difficult to see even in dimly lighted areas. In areas with little to no light, the blade can be seen as a soft glow.
+ Being smaller in size makes the shoto hilt easier to conceal on one’s person.
- The hilt is created with durasteel and standard lightsaber components making it susceptible to other lightsabers or blaster fire.
- The blade, being hard to see, can also be dangerous to the user if they are not careful with the weapon’s use.
- Being a shoto the lightsaber is significantly shorter than a standard lightsaber giving it less range of attack.
Tess Valnora is no Jedi, nor Sith, she isn’t even Force-sensitive. But she was trained in the way of the blade, she took this training and tweaked it to better compensate for the
light mass of the lightsaber. On one of her missions before becoming a Crow for the Ministry of Secrets pitted her against another assassin that specialized uniquely with a
lightsaber. Long story short, she took the shoto as her prize for defeating him, as it was the only thing to survive the encounter. Upon ignition she knew it was different from
other sabers due to its unique quietness and translucent blade. Tess kept the weapon as a backup for if she ever had to face off against a lightsaber wielder. She also kept it
because lightsabers can cut through almost anything, as is common knowledge.
