Joseph Torson watched as his transport made landfall within the Ship Docks of the Galactic Alliance's new senate building. After the Dark Empire's initial conquest of portions of the Deep Core, the Senate being the cowards they were had chosen to flee to Fondor soon establishing the planet as a temporary capital while Coruscant remained in the reach of the Dark Empire. However, today the Empire would once more prove that even deep within the territories of the Galactic Alliance, the corrupt and self-serving senators of the Senate were still not safe as they sent one of their best operatives to infiltrate their great Senate Building. His mission : To locate Damian du Couteau Damian du Couteau 's office and try to uncover any information that could give the Empire any sort of leads regarding the Resistance on Empress Teta, including information on any rebel leaders, the location of rebel bases and intel on any incoming operations.

For this operation, Joseph Torson had disguised himself as the newly appointed Senatorial Aide to the Senator of Byss by making use of the Aide's clothes, a vocal emulator and a holographic disguise matrix after surprising the real Aide at his apartment in Fondor City and killing him, enabling Torson to "borrow" the aide's clothes and assume his identity before heading off to the Senate Building. Now he had to enact the more riskier and dangerous part of his mission, getting into the Senate Building itself. After taking a deep breath, Torson would ready himself as his transport made landfall within the Ship Docks, soon proceeding to exit from it as he made his way into the Senate Building.

As Torson travelled through the lower level of the Senate Building he watched it was full of life and activity with all sorts of people walking about going on about their daily affairs within the Alliance Capital. He was almost amazed at seeing how vibrant and active the building was at least compared to those within the Empire, before reminding himself that this was the Galactic Alliance and no matter how appealing things might be, they were still rotten to their core, underserving of statehood. Thus the disguised Special Forces Operative continued to make his way through the Building, soon arriving at an elevator that would lead him straight to the upper levels of the Senate Building where the Senatorial offices were located.

Before long, Torson would enter the elevator and begin his ascent towards the next level ready to begin the next phase of his mission.

The Senate building on Fondor was a hub of activity, on a day like any other. While Nos was accompanying Senator Organa, the protection of the Senate building was overseen by Rubrus Squad on addition to the typical SSF troopers - practically complacent by comparison.

The murdered Senator's aide went unnoticed... For a while. Joseph Torson Joseph Torson had likely bought a few hours unharassed, holographic matrix disguise and voice emulator working as intended, allowing them through the basic security checkpoints without question.

The Senate building serves several roles, including public facing administrative duties. To get to a Senator's office, however, requires a badge pass - likely already retrieved from the slain aide - and a closer proximity to security, and thus, Rubrus Actual.

The legislative halls lied directly past the security checkpoint/badge point. The Senators' offices were located on the second floor beyond the checkpoint.

Rubrus Alpha patrolled the secure area inside the building, team leader Lieutenant Karis Vonn (Alpha 1) standing at attention near the checkpoint. Alpha 2 guarded the Senate floor, 3 the office halls, and 4 checking between each of the others and reporting the Bravo 1 (Sergeant Jil Torvan)

Rubrus Bravo provided support, with team leader Sergeant Jil Torvan monitoring security holoscreens, coordinating the regular checks with both Alpha and Bravo team. Bravo team patrolled throughout the courtyard, public facing areas, and the rooftop.

The GAHA-32 Lionheart Commando Armor
Of the Senate Commandos were heralded by heavy bootsteps and a telltale hum of powered components. While a holographic matrix could fool at a distance, close proximity to one of the Senate's elite would show discrepancy with a Biometric Scan and the disguise - a fact that the imperial infiltrator was likely well aware of.

Alert level: 1 - Nominal
Optional dice use: security check - rolling a D6, if the result is below the alert level, a piece of evidence is found and the alert level increases next post.

If alert level hits Alert Level 6, Nos Voros, Rubrus leader, investigates personally.

Example, if a 1 is rolled, the body of the aide is located in the apartment and reported to the authorities. Not an instant transfer of information, but enough to raise the 'Alert Level' to 2, making the next alert check escalate on a 1 or 2.

As Torson expected, his disguise worked without error and he was let through the basic security checkpoints without issue giving him access to the restricted portion of the Senate building where the Legislative Hall and Senate Offices were located. As he walked past the security checkpoints, the Special Forces operative noticed the many Senate Commandos roaming around ensuring the protection of the Senate Building, another reason for why High Command had preferred infiltration rather then simply pulling up and blasting their way towards the Senate Offices, that and the fact that Fondor was way to deep into Alliance territory.

Nevertheless Torson pushed forward, making sure to avoid getting too close to the Senate Commandos who most likely had the equipment to see through his disguise up close as he went deeper into the Senate Building. Soon enough, Torson would reach the staircase leading to the second floor and would begin his ascent, taking out his badge pass that would give him access to any Senator's office including the Senator of Empress Teta's office which was his target.

After a short period of climbing the steps, Torson would arrive on the second floor and would begin heading towards the Office of Senator Damian du Couteau so that he could begin the next phase of his mission. So far things had gone smoothly but Torson remained vigilant and on guard as the number one rule for all Special Forces Operatives was to always to expect the unexpected, especially given at how he was operating within the heart of the enemy, but hopefully the worst would not come to pass.

The check in was routine, nothing unexpected.

The badge reader recognized the dead Senator's aide ID with no issues. With clever navigation and patience, Joseph Torson Joseph Torson had made it up the stairs and to the Senate offices. The halls were loosely decorated with recognitions, bulletins, and infographs, with occasional water dispenser and benches for those who must wait.

Each office was a spacious but secure, with blind-toggling transparisteel on the doors and as windows with both deadbolt and electromagnetic locks for each office. Unless the infiltrator had the aide's keys, if senator du Couteau even entrusted them to the aide, the door would need to be picked, sliced, or both depending on the state it was left in.

A secretary briefly spared a glance and a friendly smile at the disguised infiltrator, returning to their dataterminal behind the desk.

Bravo 4, rifleman Private Cass Deren , a Duros with a custom-build helmet to accommodate the larger head, Approached dangerously close. They had just reported in at the end of the hallway and returning to decend the stairs. They were quick thinking, agile, and typically was the first-man-in for scouting and pathfinding situations.

Cass Deren had not noticed the disguise... yet. But the duros rifleman was a steadfast and weary observer, Joseph Torson Joseph Torson would have to act quickly to avoid the the holographic matrix from drawing attention.

As Torson made his way towards Senator du Couteau's office, he spotted a single Senate's Guardsmen walking his way approaching the Imperial infiltrator dangerously close. If Torson wasn't quick enough, he was certain that the Guardsmen could see through his disguise and raise the alarm but at the same time neutralizing the Guardsmen wasn't an option. However given his position within the hallway, Torson could slightly move away from the Guardsmen at a distance far enough to be not detected and enable him to proceed with his mission smoothly.

Thus, as Torson continued to make his way towards his destination he began to slightly adjust his course further away from the incoming trajectory of the Senate's Guardsmen close to the walls of the hallway where he could maximize the distance between himself and the Guardsmen. He made sure to do so in a casual way as to not raise any suspicion. Once he would pass by the Senate Guardsmen, Torson would finally begin his final approach to the Senator's Office slowly closing in on his target destination, his hands on the aide's identification card, eager to step foot into the office of the treacherous Senator of Empress Teta.

Elsewhere, on Fondor...

A crowd has gathered at the scene of a crime. A young man has been found slain in their apartment, authorities have begun an investigation. Neighbors say the man was a promising politcian's aide with a bright future ahead of him. More news to follow...

What has not yet been discovered is that very same man was currently badged into the building. An investigation was beginning, much beyond the scope of the beat cops who were just now finding the body.

Within the senator's building, Private Cass Deren walks past an antisocial aide of some senator, who gave him a wide berth. Not an uncommon reaction since he has donned the Lionheart armor of the Senate Commandos. Seeing a Duros in such a position also had it's own challenges in a predominantly human position. It would take time for them to acclimate, Cass had conceded. He continued down the stairs lamenting his talents and gear being wasted on protective duty, but also tempering his expectations with the necessity of propriety when force is to be used with a judicial and legislative enforcement squad.

The door to du Coteau's office unwatched, save for the security cams. Unnatural movements or obvious lockpicking may draw attention, but despite the mounting pressure outside of the building within was silent - nothing in the way between Joseph Torson Joseph Torson and the office beyond the door.

Having successfully passed by the Senate Guardsmen, Torson continued to walk his way towards his target destination, oblivious to the very fact that at this very moment, the body of the personal aide he was impersonating had been found in his apartment by the authorities although fortunately for him, his disguise and infiltration had not been uncovered yet. Nevertheless soon enough the Special Forces Operative would finally arrive in front of the door of the office of Senator de Couteau with the only thing standing between him and the office being a single electromagnetic lock that prevented any unwanted intrusions into the office.

Thus after taking a deep breath, Torson took out the personal aide's own identification card and slid it against the door lock hoping that it would recognize the card and give him access to the office. Otherwise he would need to find an alternative means of getting into the office as Torson had not brought any slicing tools with him, deeming any attempt to slice into the office as too risky for such an operation, especially with so many Senate Guardsmen roaming through the halls. Nevertheless as he slid the card he painfully waited for the lock to respond, praying that it would accept it and give him access to the office so that he could continue his mission without further delay.

As the investigation continues, identity of the slain Aide was discovered and the timing of their badge being used was paramount to how things would play out.

While the door admitted the intruder, the data terminal, holoscrolls, shelves and filing cabinets lay unprotected now from the intruder. Recent proposals and paperwork lay strewn as evidence of recent overtime work, left to be picked back up on after rest. Decorative framed photos line the carpeted floor, elegant but not lavish, an office more practical than luxurious for the new Senate building on Fondor. Behind the desk, a large decorative window provided a dappled glow of light through the frosted glass.

Meanwhile, outside the office, a massive Besalisk, Machine Gunner Corporal Bex Jarn of Alpha team could be heard, heavy footsteps patrolling in the hall outside - formidable presence more a formality on days like these.

The risk of discovery, however, was precarious. Joseph Torson Joseph Torson had found their way to the data, but time spent within was of the essence - and the data terminal would require biometrics of Damian du Couteau Damian du Couteau , a password, or successful slicing to prevent discovery.

Dice rolls for escalation (alert level 2, roll of 1,2 escalates):
  1. Investigation flagging the aide as the deceased (dangerous, will increase alert level by an additional point -> alert level 4)
  2. Corporal Jarn casual patrol
  3. Senate Cam footage (Bravo 1)
4th roll is to provide a challenge for slicing, an opposed roll against cybersecurity, (dice roll is target number for you to be at, roll under increases alert level, over gets you the data, the results in neither, just time spent)

Raising the stakes a bit to keep things from stagnating.
