  • Availability: Uncommon
  • Deployment: Minor
  • Strengths:
  • Ammunition: electromagnetic plasma cannot be reflected by lightsabers
  • Versatility: its weapons can dent vehicles while also making a number against infantry
  • Sneaky: they can take advantage of most forms of cover, and move from a cover to another
  • Weaknesses:
  • Easy to detect for a few seconds on EM/thermal sensors once they open fire (ca. 10 seconds)
  • Limited ammunition: each sniper is issued 3 power packs of 25 rounds, which can be a problem in prolonged engagements despite the low rate of fire
  • Infantry: if their cover is blown, they become just as vulnerable as any other infantry unit
  • Description: On Barataria, the successes of Silver snipers in causing trouble to both Mandalorian vehicles and Mandalorian troopers became evident, but at the same time, their ability to take advantage of cover was limited by the necessity of their weapon to be fired from a prone position. Their service weapon was replaced by the Chalacta upon release of the latter, enhancing their ability to take advantage of cover. Typically, snipers are recruited among those regulars that proved themselves in areas of battle such as marksmanship as well as in more survivalistic aspects of warfare, and the training process include shooting at moving targets, spotting for other units, such as artillery, reconnaissance and other items relevant to these duties, such as SERE training. In effect, the SJ Snipers are similar to special forces.
