- Anti-Fighter Missile based for capital ship deployments in space.
- Multiple maneuvering jets and aerodynamic fins allows this missile to work both in space and atmosphere with a high level of maneuverability.
- Guidance system utilizes multi-lock technology to both get visual, thermal, and actively radar guided based missile locks making this missile extremely hard to spoof or defeat with standard chaff, flare, or even using most standard EWAR systems, meaning that to defeat the missile you have to maneuver.
- High Angles of Attack: This is a Space Interception Missile that is designed to counteract fighters. Its very maneuverable in either space or atmosphere and has the speed to chase down most fighters and bombers making this a very real threat to said fighters.
- Chemical Payload: This missile has an anti-fighter based charge in the warhead of the missile, which means it doesn't matter what speed that the missile is moving at, when it hits you it's really gonna hit you. And with a proximity fuse on the warhead, you need to be able to dodge that missile well before it gets close.
- Not for use against capital ships: This missile isn't designed for use against capital ships, and as such would be nigh useless against them.
- Engines Vulnerable to EMP/Ion based weapons: The engines on this missile being micro-fusial engines are quite vulnerable to Ion/EMP weapons technology, giving people defending against the missile another option to potentially defeat this missile.
- Predictable flight path: This missile will only lock onto a target and then go straight for it. So for a guided munition it won't be able to make longer turns to suddenly come back around, and once it acquires forward facing target lock, this missile has to keep the target in a 70 degree arc to keep track of the target. If it loses track of the target in this cone, it will deactivate and detonate itself to keep itself from falling into enemy hands. This will also happen if the engines either lose power and/or are disabled.
The Space Interception Missile. While definitely not the first of its kind the SIM-01 takes an old design and gives it a new updated look and feel. Firstly, you'll notice that this missile, while originally designed for launch from fighters, actually is also able to be launched from static emplacements, meaning this missile can be stored on capital ships and used as a part of their star fighter defenses. Add into this that his missile is smarter, as in you can program its initial flight path and trajectory before the seeker head locks onto its target, and this is a very capable weapon system. Finally, last but certainly not least, this missile contains multi-lock technology, meaning that its seeker head utilizes multiple targeting systems to acquire, and then maintain lock on its target. This is a collective system of thermal imaging, visual targeting, radar, or if your ship has the capabilities, even a laser guidance system. This gives this missile unprecedented flexibility and quality in locking onto targets and engaging them effectively. And the anti-recovery warhead in the missile ensures that should it not reach or lose its target, you don't have a random warhead just flying off into the wild black yonder. Instead the missile will self destruct ensuring a safe disposal, meaning that this missile won't go careening off and hit something else.
