BIOGRAPHY:
Sinhton Vass was born 700 ABY on the world of Haruun Kal- a harsh, inhospitable world covered in a sea of toxic gases brought to the surface by volcanic activity, and broken by mountains and plateaus. Only the landmasses that reached into the atmosphere could support life, and thus it was high in these mountains and plateaus where native life evolved. It was in this harsh, jungle environment, the Korunnai- a race of Force-sensitive near Humans- thrived.

The Korunnai organized themselves into clans- or Ghôsh. Of them, Ghôsh Vass stood atop them all. Powerful and cunning, the Vass eschewed the nomadic livelihoods of the Ghôsh, seating themselves at the capital, Pelek Baw. There, they acted as protectors, gaining the admiration and gratitude of the Balawai- or the "outlanders", the immigrants who managed to tame Haruun Kal enough to thrive. Through the patronage of the Balawai, the Vass amassed a great amount of land and wealth. Additionally, they often dealt with the One Sith, offering their warrior's services in exchange for technology and arms to forcibly expand their reach across Haruun Kal and "civilize" the planet. This exchange often entailed allowing their most promising of clanbrothers- or dôshallai- to be fostered in the household of a Sith Lord, receiving first-class education and training, and deployed to whichever far-flung planet needed to be subjugated. At the conclusion of the tour, the Vass- now a fully trained dôshalo- would return to Haruun Kal in glory, though a few chose live away from the Ghôsh.

Sinhton- a clan elder by the time of the rediscovery of Haruun Kal by the One Sith- saw them for what they were; parasites and predators that would turn on them on a dime. However, having come of age at the end of the Gulag Era, he saw an opportunity to use the Sith to solidify the standing of the Vass over the other clans, and in time, parley the great wealth amassed into prosperity for all Korun, with the Vass leading the way.

And so, for a time, under Sinhton's leadership, the Vass thrived, while cynically lending their strength to the highest bidder.

Until the Omega War of 849.

A hodge of rogue Sith- many of them remnants of the One Sith Sinhton had so enthusiastically lent his dôshallai out to as patriarch of the clan- banded together to enact a cataclysm that would indiscriminately kill trillions. Sinhton himself led a band of Vass- partnering with the nascent Galactic Alliance- to blunt their schemes, but he was left with a crisis of conscience. Taking a leave of absence, Sinhton traversed the galaxy, finding himself with the Ashland Crusade. While with the Crusaders, they visited various Force traditions, exchanging wisdom and gaining friendship. They helped. They extinguished the Bogan.

Sinhton returned to Haruun Kal, a true believer in Ashla. Sinhton expressly forbade dealings with the followers of Bogan- Ghôsh Vass would only deal with clients that fell in lines with Ashlan doctrine. This caused tension with the secular Balawai, and the Ghôsh across the planet that belonged to a variety of faiths. But few would cross Sinhton; already prodigiously talented, his mastery of the Force following his odyssey made him terrifying. And for a few years, there was peace.

Then, came the invasion by the Confederacy of Independent Systems invaded Haruun Kal. While outside powers setting their sights on Haruun Kal was not unheard, the goals of the Confederacy was not to pillage the world of it's resources- rather, they viewed the native Korun was as cache of recruits to replenish the Obsidian Knights, the Confederate Force Order. They saw the Korun as a breeding ground, a never-ending pool of disposable shock troops. The CIS pre-emptively assassinated Ghôshs perceived to be an impediment, and Haruun Kal was subsequently garrisoned by the Obsidian Knights.

Sinhton Vass, leading a legion of Vass riders, called down a Force Storm upon the encroaching Confederates as they made their approach upon Pelek Baw, then led the rout of the survivors. This act of force- earned Ghôsh Vass a level of autonomy to operate and govern themselves, and Sinhton a fierce moniker- the Storm Who Rides. There was a cold peace between the CIS and the conquered, punctuated by low-level skirmishes, and raids on the Obsidians to free captured Korun. Sinhton, in the shadows, sent envoys to Ghosh across the Highlands. We've always outnumbered the Balawai, the envoys argued. We outnumber the invaders. So why do we war against each other? Why do we make ourselves weaker?

Everything would change with the Cataclysm. The Unmaker- a primordial entity, unbound by meddlesome mortals- poured a cup of it's wrath in the Galactic South, subsuming the Confederacy. Worlds were overrun by the beasts of the Nether. Even Haruun Kal was not spared. And Sinhton- with all of his might- could not turn the Unmaker's army aside, not by himself. Gathering the elders of Ghoshs across Haruun Kal, and with their combined strength and his knowledge, they were able to swiftly complete a Force ritual, closing the portals to the Nether- but not banishing the beasts. Because of this, Haruun Kal lost billions instead of trillions.

Even after the Cataclysm, Haruun Kal was not given respite. Fearing the ambitions of Ghôsh Vass, the Balawai- with a number of Ghôsh- launched a pre-emptive assault on Pelek Baw, the seat of Vass power, igniting a bloody civil war. Taken off-guard, the Vass fought the initial stages of the war into a bloody stalemate before their allies, seeing the opportunity to curtail the power of the outlander Balawai once and for all, joined their ranks.

Declaring this his final campaign, Sinhton to the reins of the Korun army, with no pushback.

Overwhelmed by a united, organized Korunnai fighting force, the Balawai quickly surrendered. Turning their attention to CIS remnants, the fledgling Federation swiftly nationalized their assets and expelled the Confederacy, once and for all.

With peace firmly in it's grasp, the Ghôshs descended upon Pelek Baw for a constitutional convention. Over the course of three days, after much argument and compromise, the Al'Har Pact was ratified, and the Al'Har Federation was formed in 897 ABY.

Sinhton, his life's work completed, the future firmly in the hands of the next generation, lapsed into semi-retirement, opting to train the youth of Haruun Kal, harass his son and immediate family, or travel the stars.
