SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Oversight and Administration
  • Information Storage and Processing
  • Data and Information Security
  • Data Linking
    • FAE/S-13 Unified Engagement Network Link Compatibility
    • Universal Data Link
      • The system can maintain a remote data link with the user or any other authorized unit via encrypted PTP link or ion-scrambled ghostwave-channeled bio-hexacrypted frequency-hopping comm link. Through this, the drone can receive and transmit targeting, sensor, and location data. This function is typically used to give the drone explosive specific instructions remotely.
  • Propulsion
  • Passive Feedback Sensor Array
  • Activation Trigger Modules
    • Impact
      • The canister is set to go off on impact or sudden stoppage. This can be overridden by the anti-FF protocols in the event that friendly units, the user, and / or noncombatants are within the effective radius.
    • Timed Delay
      • The canister is set on a timed delay (anywhere from one to 600 seconds). This can be overridden by remote command or anti-FF protocols in the event that friendly units, the user, and / or noncombatants are within the effective radius. This functionality can also hybridize with the seek and destroy module if specified, as the grenade can utilize its microrepulsor engine to correct its trajectory in mid-air to get closer to or deliberately home in on enemy targets, thereby correcting inaccuracy in the throw or launch,
    • Mine
      • The canister is used as a makeshift mine, going off when an enemy unit comes within the blast radius. This functionality can also hybridize with the seek and destroy module, in that the explosive can seek out a target or group of targets as soon as its sensors detect them, before going off upon reaching its coverage radius or an optimal distance from its target(s). Naturally, this can be overridden by the anti-FF protocols in the event that friendly units, the user, and / or noncombatants are within the effective radius.
    • Remote Trigger
      • The canister is set and activated on command by the user. This also can be used in the manner of an airburst, to go off on operator command.
    • Seek and Destroy
      • The canister utilizes its microrepuslor engine to seek out a designated target or group of targets, going off upon reaching its coverage radius or an optimal distance from its target(s). In the case that the canister is assigned multiple targets, it will seek to go off at a point that catches the most targets within the coverage radius.
  • Operational Protocols
    • Trajectory Interference Protocols
      • In the event that the drone canister is by some means redirected from its trajectory (whether via the Force, repulsor shockwaves, or some other means), it can correct itself and recover to seek out the target again, if still intact and operational. Alternatively, if the drone canister is already within the coverage radius from its target(s) upon being redirected or stopped, it can be set to go off. The drone can also be recalled back to its user, typically done after an unsuccessful attempt to seek out a viable target.
      • The drone canister is capable of registering when a target or agent is attempting to catch or pull it from mid-air. In such a case, the system will make a deliberate effort to avoid this, by immediately altering its course. In the event that it can not escape (such as a Force Pull), barring any overrides, the drone will go off prior to being caught (as soon as it is drawn within the coverage radius).
    • Anti-FF Protocols
      • Although the Siqsa-type is a non-lethal smoke canister, it can still be set with anti-FF protocols, should the user choose. In this case, should the drone canister be by some means redirected back towards its user or any other friendly IFF signatures, barring any overrides, safety protocols may kick in to prevent the grenade from going off regardless of the selected module. These protocols can also be set so that it does not go off with civilians or noncombatants within the effective radius.
    • If the droid brain is compromised or taken over in some way, shutdown and failsafe protocols will activate to revoke its control over the explosive. In this mode, the drone canister will be limited to only the basic modes of operation, making it more akin to a true grenade than a drone in practice, albeit with some limited target seeking capabilities.
    • Prior to going off, the system cross-references data across all sensors on the drone canister. This ensures that it can not be tricked into prematurely going off by gravity fluctuations or other anomalies.
  • Canister Components
    • Electric Fuze
    • Smoke Discharger Array
      • Capable of discharging the full smoke load in an effective instant.
    • Smoke Composition
      • Nagnol Gas
        • Gas agent which acts to block scanners and sensors.
      • Obsidian Voidshards
        • Generate a localized distortion field within the smoke radius that interferes with Force senses, precognition, and tracking. In addition, it can subject enemies to visual distortions, generating quasi-illusions, false shadows, dancing silhouettes, and warped distances. Direct exposure to the shards can bring about mental fog, unease, and nausea.
      • Various Infrared Smoke Compounds
        • Standard smoke compounds are mixed in the composition to produce both visual and thermal obscuration.
      • Optional Dye
        • An optional dye can be added to give the smoke a particular color.
  • Power and Utility
STRENGTHS
  • Security: Owing to a comprehensive data and information security suite, a semi-sentient droid brain, and the offensive retention system, the Siqsa-type is quite resistant to ECM, electromagnetic bursts, slicing attempts, external tampering, and many forms of electronic warfare which rely on tricking, deceiving, hacking, or even outright deactivating its systems.
  • Zip Cloud: The Siqsa-type is blisteringly fast and agile, capping of zipping to its targets at dazzling speeds in excess of 500 km/h within standard atmosphere. It can accelerate and decelerate in an effective instant, allowing for supreme maneuverability and control.
  • Spectrum Lock: The drone canister utilizes a multi-spectrum target locking system, meaning that sensor data is cross-referenced in ongoing fashion. If one sensor or receptor type is blinded or confused by the deployment of countermeasures, the artificial intelligence can cross-reference to verify and restore the integrity of its sensor picture. The system can also receive targeting and sensor data from its user.
  • Smoke Demon: Equipped with a virtually semi-sentient computer brain, the Siqsa-type is ultra-aggressive, inhumanly persistent, and artistically creative in seeking out its targets. Among its capabilities are the ability to reach targets around cover, concealment, or obstructions, reacquire its mark in the event of a missed pass, the active evasion of incoming fire or Force powers, and yet more.
  • Silent Smoke: The Siqsa-type has photo-reactive camouflage capability and a stealth polymer undercoating, making it extremely difficult to distinguish from the surrounding environment and to pick out on sensors. In addition, the canister is completely silent in its operation, lacking distinct beeps, clicks, or audio cues. Feedback is typically given to the user through their helmet or HUD.
WEAKNESSES
  • Jordan Pushed Off: In utilizing repulsorlifts, the Siqsa-type also has the chief disadvantage of the technology—that being an inability to function without a nearby gravity well as the system requires mass to push against. Thus, the microrepulsor is nonfunctional in deep space and total zero-g environments, unless artificial gravity is present.
  • Overload: Although it has modest electronic hardening, a direct hit from an EMP or Ion discharge will likely disable the canister, grounding it.
  • Fragile: Although quite elusive, Siqsa-type canisters are lightweight, unarmored, and small, making them susceptible to damage. Very often, all it takes is a single blaster bolt to effectively neutralize one.
  • Double Blind: The Siqsa-type is a smoke canister and thus may obscure the sight and sensors of both its user and their opponent. However, it should be noted that the unique effects of the Obsidian Voidshards do not apply to the user.
  • Like any smoke canister, the effectiveness of the Siqsa-type is subject to the environment. In windy conditions, the smoke will dissipate rather quickly. In turn, it may linger for longer in enclosed, indoor areas.
DESCRIPTION
Produced exclusively for the Kainate, the Siqsa-type Semiautonomous Seeker Obscuration Canister is a mini-drone explosive designed as an obscuration grenade. Designed for engagements against trained Force-sensitives, the Siqsa-tpye is optimized with extensive consideration weighed to their preternatural abilities. In addition, the canister is capable of operating in most environments. However, limitations will manifest in total zero-g environments due to a lack of mass for its microrepulsor to function, meaning that the drone will be unable to propel itself.

For the explosive itself, the Siqsa-type is a smoke discharger. Thus, it is a utility canister, designed primarily for obscuration, misdirection, and utility. The smoke is composed of nagnol gas to block sensors and scanners, Obsidian voidshard to interfere with Force-based tracking, precognition, and senses, and various other smoke compounds which produce visual obscuration.

The explosive comes in three sizes—a mini-canister size, a standard canister size, and a large canister size. The mini-canister size has the smallest coverage radius, being optimized for covert use and use in most grenade launchers. For standard battlefield and combat use, the standard canister size comes next, with a fairly typical blast radius. Finally, the large size has the largest blast radius, often used when wide area coverage is needed.

All in all, the Siqsa-type Semiautonomous Seeker Obscuration Canister is hoped to represent an reliable, advanced concealment measurement for elite Kainate operatives, Shikkari, Sith, and Dark Jedi, facilitating quick escapes or silent assassinations.
